m4 feed ramps cause bolt breaking and cracks on a 7.62x39 round.. its not even close to the proper feed ramps.. they need to be 300 blackout ramps or they will ruin the bolt every time.. M4 feed ramps on a ar-47 platform is like having a grenade in your hands..

So I just got a radical firearms AR 15 chamber in 7.62x39 I believe it has a traditional straight walled mag. It could have a block but I believe it’s a 10 round mag and I can’t get more then six in. I also wanted to see how it chambered before I fired it, chambered a live round and wanted to see how it ejected and it wouldn’t. I had to bang it against my leg and yank the charging handle. I took it back to the gun shop I got it from but the owner didn’t know much about it. He cycled one and when it came out the lead was in my barrel but the brass ripped out and powder went every where. I explained to him what I’ve read and heard and he didn’t know just offered to send it in and a new one shipped. From what I can tell it’s hitting just below the barrel but the bolt is jamming it into the barrel in an awkward position. And on top of that I also believe the ramp it came with is somehow off, it gouges the lead and flattens the very end of the brass. My brother shot two rounds and the 2nd sparked all over our target making me believe the ramp is bending the case slightly sending powder down rang with my lead. I also tried a different buffer spring thinking mine was bottomed out or not working properly but even with a new spring had the same issue, even when hand loaded then closed the bolt. But I know the round fits good in the bolt carrier so not exactly sure what’s going on. Any idea on what’s going on or how to fix this

I use an H2 buffer and a .308 carbine spring. Improves function and reduces recoil. I have used a 7.62x39 Colt since 1992, when they were the only one and this kid wasn't even a gleam in daddy's eye. I use Tula all the time. Tula, Wolf, Bernal. It's all good.
@joshv065 жыл бұрын
I was born 1992. So I guess I was a gleam in my daddy's eye :P. A .308 spring increases the forward bolt velocity. Sure it will work, but a standard carbine spring will work better once your mags get dirty from blowback and there is increased drag in your magazines (since the magazine is non-traditional and not optimized for the platform like an AK mag in an AK or an AR mag in an AR). Your magazine stack is already feeding up slowly as it is and having a standard carbine spring will ensure the slowest forward bolt velocity to give the round more time to get to the top of the magazine to be ready to feed.

The midlength one will have an aim surplus qpq nitride bolt with lifetime warranty and the other carbine length one I have a toolcraft qpq nitride bolt with it. Both will have elftmann service triggers. The one with faxon barrel will be my home defense gun. It'll have a yhm upper and spikes tactical punisher lower with bcm enhanced parts kit. It'll have troy flip up rears and an xs tritium white stripe front. The optic on it will be an aimpoint pro with American defense mount and 3x magnifier, it'll have a battle arms development badass safety lever and a bcm ambidextrous gunfighter charging handle. On the carbine length it's a er shaw phosphate hbar on an ar stoner upper and Anderson lower with ar stoner lpk. I'm going to use it for hunting and plan to use an American defense recon mount with a Leatherwood hilux cmr 1-4×24. I only use cpd mags in 20 and 28 rounders. The carbine length one has functioned flawlessly with tula, monarch, brown bear, Chinese, it seems to like red army standard best. Golden tiger I initially had light primer strikes on because I had a 4 pound hammer spring on it. 7.62x39 bolts have less support material on the bolt lugs, so the lugs crack quicker. The lugs (and therefore, bolt) last about 5k rounds before you have to get a new one.
@chaplaincrabtree68815 жыл бұрын
Says a guy who makes it to the range 3 times a year and shoots a total of 200 rounds. A lot of the arm chair commandos like to theorize about how they will use the gun, but few ever will. 5 thousand rounds of 7.62x39 ammo is around $900. .300 black is about $2750 for 5k rounds. Just so that's in perspective for you. A $70-$100 bolt is a drop in the bucket when you look at ammo costs.

Im currently waiting on an adjustable gas block from PSA rn butthe barrel came with a pinned gas block. Do you think it'll run fine without the AGB? Cproduct mags, toolcraft polished NiB m16 carrier/AIMsurplus NiB 7.62 bolt w enhanced firing pin have me rather confident any problem will be with the gas system, but I did have to polish my feed ramps already, the faxon I received had some burs on the ramps

@@joshv06 I figured I'd use both solutions. I noticed on 2 of mine that I had to break the spot welds on the inside. They were making the rounds drag. Use a polymer tool to push the follower all the way down and back up. Yes it is a heavy barrel and i prefer it that way. the barrels are rated .7 to 1 moa. the gas port works perfect with no failures. Also right now classic firearms is selling them for $399. now if you want to go out and spend 3x that price or do a custom build go ahead. I don't and as i am not a professional gun smith. furthermore bear creek arsenal backs up my rifle with a lifetime warranty. so in my opinion fuck building one. now if you think your going to build one to be a bad ass sniper then your stupid for not just going ar10 with a full size cartridge. a $2000 one won't make you a better shooter. I am not a gun snob do not want a bunch of bling. I am going to buy 1 more because it is an awesome shooter and the price is very, very good. Have you even tried the BCA rifle and gone shooting with it? lets see you do that and go to the range and make a vid doing a fair side by side comparison.
@eiji817 жыл бұрын
It won't shoot better than a good AK, I promise you that. Reliability wise (accuracy is another story). AK47's are made to shoot 7.62x39 very reliably with almost any ammo. My Russian AK will shoot thousands of rounds with barely any oil or cleaning with Tula or Wolf or whatever. AR builds in x39's can be reliable, but not as reliable to AK's. (yes I have an AR in x39 also)

I built mine from Bear Creek Arsenal. It works flawlessly. Very accurate. But what he says about lacquer coated being better than poly is straight bs. I used the wolf wpa military classic lacquer coated and I kept getting light primer strikes. The primer sits deeper into the cartridge and is shit in anything but ak and sks rifles.

joshv06 what would you say about a 8 inch barrel with a 2 inch flash can?
@joshv065 жыл бұрын
@@geocow5105 Flash cans are wasted barrel length. Wouldn't you want to have the added 2.5" to go towards more muzzle velocity, less flash, less muzzle blast? Add 2.5" and you're at a 10.5" barrel. Go with a 10.5" and a flash hider.

It''s just as good. The 1/8 is actually better for subsonic rounds that we make.
@joshv067 жыл бұрын
I see no difference. Good thing is that the 1/8 would be better for the custom subsonic 220gr loads we make. Something tells me that Faxon 7.62x39 barrels actually use a .308 bore..

AAC SDN6. You can't tell the difference because your laptop speakers don't go up to 167db for the sound of unsuppressed. Which suppressed is 135db. You're not supposed to wet a rifle suppressor due to the immense pressure.
@constitutionalrepublican16116 жыл бұрын
joshv06 idk, ive used wire pulling gel in my rifle suppressors, works pretty good. ... In different cans. Wire pulling gel can be found at Lowes home improvement stores. They may have a hard time locating it as its not an everyday seller, as most wires do not need that anymore.... Does make a nice difference until the can is real hot as the gel will get real liquidy after a bit.

You're posting a video handing out tips on how to build a reliable rifle..... Then advocate (more like try to sell me) a bolt that lasts less than 5 thousand rounds. Do you understand how ridiculous you sound? How bout instead of providing decenting opinions on my channel, you do some more research, invest FAR more money on training so it doesn't look like a 7.62x39 rifle isn't absolutely kicking your ass, and take the thousands of hours required to understand exactly how ridiculous your standard for reliability is.

you lost all credibility when you think M-4 feed ramps are sufficient for a 7.62x39... there is your only one issue.. replace those ramps with 300 blk out. you may be a fan of this weapon platform but you really should do more research and further your education on a proper working AR-47 platform.. i stopped the video at that point for there is no need to continue because i will most likely tear this video apart further.. i recommend you rebuild your wrong build weapon and then try the video again..

@joshv063 жыл бұрын
Correct. Because the magazines are not as optimal as 5.56 in a 5.56 magazine (shower feed rate) and the nose of the bullet sits lower than 5.56 due to its larger diameter case.
