Hi! Sure thing. Try working on a separate surface. I use cheap plastic cutting boards, or a cutting mat from a craft store. Metal is also good. I have an aluminum bench pin, but you could also work over an aluminum sheet. Basically use a less porous surface and use a scraper, like for paint from the hardware store, or something similar, to scrape the wax drippings off. I protect my floor with a cheap chair mat that I don't care about, which could also be plastic. Thanks for watching! Joe Silvera

I have the very same Grobet stylebench , it's cheaply made pine , but I like it . Where would I get a cabinet like that 13 drawer one to the right of your bench ?

It was a gift from a friend when they downsized. I did a quick search and found some similar ones here. There are some nice antique ones out there. This video is just amazing. My teacher told me that I should choose a branch to focus on when I started to learn goldsmith because I can't be a master of everything. and I chose wax carving and enamel. I like how you describe ergonomic part since sitting all day keep head down really causes back&neck pain. I don't have the same carving machine as yours though, we usually use the dental machine like SAESHIN, because we also do jade carving and dental machines are more likely to carve details I suppose? I tried pneumatic machine once, it feels harder to control since I can't manage to control how strong my feet is stepping on the padel. I found the dental machine easier to use, but not as strong. What can be the other difference? I don't see a lot of goldsmiths using dental carving machine on KZbin.

Which wax pen would you suggest? I have been hand fabricating jewelry but am starting wax carving and have been debating between the foredom wax carver and the arbe one. Thanks for your input!

Hi! I have both, of course. I think the Foredom Wax Carver is my favorite. If that's the only one I had, I would also get an inexpensive battery operated SuperMax wax pen for when I want to have a superheated tip to polish my models, fix pits, etc. That's one thing the FWC can't do. Otherwise, I like how easy it is to modify the inexpensive pics.
