Sharing some tips and tools to help you when cutting from a roll with the Siser Juliet or Romeo cutting machines. I share 2 tools that can help after the cut is complete in cutting off your vinyl after the machine cuts it.

Thank you! ALWAYS GIVING ME IDEAS. This is a cheaper solution than I went with. I ended up buying a 24” guillotine cutter and I Push it up against the Romeo and cut my vinyl nice and straight that way but it takes up real estate and it was expensive. I couldn’t stand my cutting job with scissors. I suck at it. Can’t wait for the roll feeder. I do hope it comes with a cutting blade builtin. I use the same method with the roll as you do with an additional empty roll for more support. Now that I watched yours, I imagine I do not need the extra roll. I never watch my vinyl cutting as I am usually multi-tasking. I wish the software would give an estimate cut setting so I can set a timer on Alexa. lol

I appreciate all your videos! I was having a hell of time getting my vinyl to line up correctly!! No matter what I did, my last letter kept getting halfway cut off. And I was lining my mat exactly where it should be. It’s definitely a learning process.. I have a maker and cameo 3.

The next update to Leonardo Design Studio should hopefully make it a little bit more accurate. There is a small margin of error built into it right now from where the blade is left to where it starts the cut. It was designed to help users not start the cut off the vinyl at the beginning, but it can affect the right edge now.

I'm having a problem with it ripping my vinyl after it has already cut out the design. At 16:38 in this video is where it happens to me. You can actually kind of hear it in your video but it keeps tearing my vinyl up and I don' know why. I have the rollers loosened all the way. Have you experienced this? Any suggestions?

@@kimneos3046 I'm sorry, I don't understand. At 16:38 in the video, my cut is just starting. What is tearing the vinyl? The rollers? The blade tip? Rollers loosened = levers are all flipped down in the back and all are secured over the black textured area of the bottom roller bar?

@@SwiftCreekCustoms I think I may have figured it out…there was a sharp piece sticking out on that black plastic piece where the cutting tool goes in…I shaved it down and didn’t have the issue but it was a small cut..I’m going to try a much bigger one today so 🤞🏻🤞🏻thank you for responding!!

Do you have to put smaller designs position to bottom of pages in order for Romeo to start cutting at beginning instead of advancing to the further up?

You could cut stabilized fabric. Not all fabric, but you'd need to test. I love Terial Magic to stabilize fabric. It cuts like butter.

I have a new Romeo and trying to find an answer to a question. When I've tried cutting without a mat, I've had some issues with the sheet of vinyl bunching up as it's being cut. Sometimes causing it to mess up the cut. I've got the pinch rollers set up so three are in contact, two on the edges one in the middle. Any suggestions? Is it just too much pressure?

What is the biggest length you can cut. 24x ?? Is it as long as you want or 24 is also the max length?

The software allows you to enter up to 180" for maximum length. Being able to cut long length will take practice and the proper setup. If the material is straight, loaded properly, or the cut settings too high, the vinyl can "walk" and not feed properly. That is the biggest issue we see. It can be done with practice.

How can one make a jigsaw puzzle with the Siser Juliet.

You'd have to find a puzzle design or create your own and cut on the particular material you want it out of. Test cut, test cut, test cut.

Doesn’t this machine have a camera function to see your cut area?

Yes. The camera is primarily used for print and cut projects. While you can use it to view your material, it is several additional steps to do so. It's much faster to just manually set your blade and do an Area Test if necessary. The camera is not "on" all the time, only when you activate it.

You could test it. Foam board varies greatly in thickness and in general is a difficult material to cut with any machine because of it's composition. 2 tough layers to punch through with a squishy center makes for difficult cutting and inconsistent results. Thickness of the foam board would also be a factor.
