Good that you mentioned flasher spoon combos. I thought I was the only one using them. They were my go to rig all summer and they produce fantastic results.

Hi Wally....what is your favorite flasher to use with spoons? Thx
@wallytomaszek Жыл бұрын
@@doloreshallett6480 well, I usually mix them up but my favourite spoon is the watermelon and I use a green flasher or spin doctor. For me in Lake Ontario, it was a killer combo.

How far behind the flasher do you have the spoon

Well done! I watched to learn how to do a better presentation for Lake Trout. Hopefully sometime in the future you may give us a video on these fish as well. (I don’t have Salmon in my area.)

I often do the same thing, and I believe the snap only approach allows more action to spoons as well as crankbaits. Additionally, if I'm fishing suspending cranks, the snap only approach has less affect on buoyancy.

Hi Mark, Helpful video, thank you. I have been snowbirding and fishing in Florida the last few years and use the non slip loop knot for almost all mono to lure (mostly paddletails) connections. Have you ever experimented with that? It is fast to tie and with the longish leaders you use would take several lure changes to have much impact on length. Would the concern be abrasion at the eye of the spoon?

Good tips. On my leaders I use a Sampo barrel swivel instead of the snap swivel.

Marc, very informative. When running the flasher spoon setup on dipsy, how much lead do you typically run from the dipy to flasher and then from flasher to spoon?

Great video. One question though, are you attaching swivel to swivel on your weighted steel to spoon leader?

Snap swivel to a swivel on the leader

Great tips. I can’t use the 20lb test when there are water flees in the water because they cling to the smaller diameter line. What tip do you have for dealing with water flees? Thank you
@KingsLandingSportFishing2 жыл бұрын
20lb leader with 30 or 40lb main… I tie on a 20ft section of 20lb fluorocarbon using a double unit knot and never have any issues.

@@KingsLandingSportFishing thank you! I used 20lb years ago until the water flees.

@@KingsLandingSportFishing is the 20 feet needed for stealth, action or both? I haven’t tried a long leader like that but now that you mention it I use long leaders in the gulf since king fish have excellent eye sight. I use Albright knots to connect just as a side note and fishermen who know how to salt water fishing use an “F knot” because they slide through guides better. Especially if you need to cast the knot through a guide. Just sharing. More and more I use salt water techniques for fresh and vise versa like you mentioned using west coast methods for eastern Lake Ontario. By the way planers have been used in salt water catching huge bill fish, king fish and wahoo. Some people actually hand wind the line after retrieving the planers. Can’t imagine doing that with a salmon but salmon don’t pull any harder than a wahoo that can swim 60mph. I don’t think you could convince customers to hand line salmon. Lol thank you

I'm up in Collingwood, Georgian bay and am marking a ton of Kings but they're not biting. Any tips as to why? Current setup: 25lb mono to 10 foot 20lb fluorocarbon leader and snap swivel on the end attached to a Michigan stinger spoon. Trolling 2.5mph over ground in 90-120 FOW. Marking them at 60-80 FOW. Any scent you recommend I put on the spoons? Should I run plugs? If so, what's the setup for those? Thanks for any help!

Good morning Captain, I just purchased a panoptix ps 30 , I,m using a ps 31 mount, my issue is that i,m getting a huge rooster tail from it, any suggestions as to how I can fix this problem thanks in advance
@KingsLandingSportFishing2 жыл бұрын
You could try raising it up a little or you could build a shield that covers the open area between the transducer and the hull. That’s probably where the spray is coming from.
