I just want to thank you for your inspiration in purchasing a wondermill. Being a dude and wanting to eat healthier whole grains is looked at funny in my neck of the woods. One thing I do different to clean the flour bowl of the Wondermill is that I just blast it out with my air compressor nozzle in my garage. Way faster. Then I take the vacuum hose without any attachments on it and stick it over the output hole (overlapping the side just a bit so it doesn't fully cover the rubber bushing) and then turn the machine on for a few seconds. Boom! Cleanup in seconds.

Such a good video! I have the Harvest. That is the brush that comes with it. I actually just had to do the rice for the first time as a maintenance thing. I thought it broke. It completely stopped grinding. I opened it to see a thick film built up on the stones. I looked up how to clean the stones since you DON'T use water and found the info about the rice. I was dubious that it would actually work because of how embarrassingly bad my stones were caked up, but it DID!!! Just wanted to share my experience there to add a voice of agreement to your video. I love your channel! Thank you! 🥰

I clean my Nutrimill Harvest the way you demonstrated the white rice but after every use. Maybe I shouldn’t? I don’t use it every day or even every week. I keep a lot of food grade 5 gallon buckets on hand and store it in one of them with the lid on. Thanks again for your valuable advice. 10:15

I purchased a Wondermill just before the Mockmill burst on the scene. I have been very pleased with it…no maintenance issues. However, I find I grind just about everything on pastry setting. Overall, which is your favorite mill…the impact or the stone?

Have you ever notice after taking the grinder out for cleaning and reassembling that the area where the mill has the grinding sound changes? When i got mine, new was about at the 10 o clock position. After thr last cleaning it is at the 7 oclock position. Is it possible to scorch the flour when grinding?

No, I don't think so.

New Sub here...loving your content and eager to learn all things grain...safe to say, the stone mill is stronger vs the impact? Maybe you have a video I've not seen on this and will continue to dive in...have you ever shown what the grain amounts look like to get to a cup of milled? Meaning - does a cup equal a cup or how to measure to grind according to recipe. Thanks! Looking forward to feeling better!

I want to know the end flour texture result difference between the two mills in front of you in this video. I have the wonder mill, but wanted a Harvest mill… why do I need both?
@secretspy44 Жыл бұрын
She has a video on how to choose a grain mill that goes into more detail on the differences, as well as a review video on her nutrimill that might help. But in general, I think impact mills aren't able to do the coarser grinds that stone grinders can reach, as the mechanism impact shatters the whole grain on burr impact. Stone mill stones can be set wider to leave larger peices of the grain intact, closer to a cereal cracked grain, or setcloser to provide a fine flour.

What kind of corn do you grind in your nutramill harvest? I noticed the manual said not to grind popping corn and I wasn't sure why, or what kind of corn is ok to grind with it.

I have some rice that is past best use date. Is it okay to use to clean my Nutrimill?

Hii I am new to milling and want to buy wheat berries from Azure standerd. I was wondering if we need to clean or special prep our wheat berries before milling...
@GrainsandGrit Жыл бұрын
It depends. Azure, who is an affiliate of mine, has been having quality issues lately, so you may need to clean your grains. But some of their batches are fine. And ALL of the grain you get from Pleasant Hill Grain is sparkling clean and read to mill. They're also a sponsor of my channel: www.grainsandgrit.com/PHG

Yes, it's a good idea to check for rocks! Use a sheet pan and about a half a cup of grain at a time.

Why don't you clean your sponge? I was instructed to flick the flour out of it when I clean my machine, and to wash it once in a while. I got two with my Classic so when one is cleaned and drying out, the other one is in the machine so I don't have to wait to mill. I know you can buy extra sponges, but I do have two so I am good to go for a long time.

Sweetie- I am a bit concerned as I hear you speak- I am a paramedic- I have been watching your channel for a few weeks, I’m not sure if what I’m hearing is nerves, and that is why you are sounding out of breath or if you have asthma? I’m hearing labored breathing- like you’re not getting enough oxygen. Please get this checked ❤

Yes, I noticed your breathing/speaking is somewhat labored. Please take care of yourself.

I used to get like that when I had to speak in front of hundreds of people at work. In my mind I didn't think I was nervous ... 😉
