if you've ever taken a yoga class as a student, you know demonstrations are just useful to the three students near you, the other 10-15 students aren't learning anything because they can't see you between all the bodies. And if students are doing a pose incorrectly, it's nice to hear a verbal correction instead of just letting them do the wrong move for 5 years.

This is so helpful! I’m an RYT finishing up my CRYT and teaching children really does require moving around and teaching off the mat.

Really useful video, thanks Ashley. I started teaching a lot of classes right away after my yoga teacher training and I have been demonstrating probably around 80% of every one of my classes. My body is starting to feel the burn out. This video gave me so many ideas of how to teach leaving my mat more. I will put it into practice right away!

This was so helpful Ashley! I have been struggling with this concept - where to walk, which way to face. Sometimes the obvious evades me, like simply letting students know to “stay here while I walk around to check alignment.” Thank you for sharing your gifts and wisdom!
