Thanks for good stuff. The hardest part for me is the up and downbeat's in both hands actually, as you say, clean them up a bit . Also, when making a nice fill that fit in is quite challenging , and back to a relaxed schuffle.

Hey Eric, you’ve got a real solid room there for instruction. The totally black backgorund is perfect for highlighting everything at the set. Very pro.

Eric that was a wonderful video. I have been trying to break down that particular groove for the longest and it has never come out right. You explained it so well that I can’t wait to get to my sticks. Thank you so much for sharing this video

Hi Eric, great tips here thank you for sharing. As a relatively recent shuffler, I’m also interested in the movement of the wrist and fingers to create a faster tempo. Do you have any videos with tips on how to develop the muscle memory required?

Thank you! I do, but it’s all in Total Drumming Program (online courses). Start here with my free training and course: moderndrumacademy.com/free-webinar/

What are the snare dimensions??
@fairweatherfriends.3 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand why some people say do the hi hat triplets with the 2nd triplet missing while others say play a combination of the 2nd triplet note first and then the 1st and 3rd notes of the triplet. So if you consider () to be a rest it goes like this… (Tri) PE ( let) TRi (pe) LET. It’s two totally different feels and it seems like the combo plays more fluidly. Anyone got any idea what I’m talking about? Lol
@paulrose3432 жыл бұрын
I think I know what you're talking about, but I would ignore anyone who tells you to do it the second way, at least until you have it solid the first way. Doing the accent pattern the second way is going to give an implied metric modulation, which can sound really cool, but is definitely not the logical way to learn it initially. It is essentially an advanced layer you can add on top later. Hope that makes sense. If not, trust me, do it the first way. Once you do, the explanation will make better sense too.
@paulrose3432 жыл бұрын
An example of the second one is "everybody wants to rule the world". Gotta be able to play the halftime shuffle more like "Rosanna " first. Again, in my opinion.
