In regards to your tip with Doomfist when you mention that “while stunned if you hold down the key, you’ll instantly use the ability” Keep in mind for Guardian Angel, this is only true if you use “Toggle Guardian Angel: Off” Using this setting on, you’re unable to hold down the key and instantly use it as someone comes into range/LOS. Great video as always, I’m really loving these types of guides.

as a genji one trick , i think mercy is the second hardest support behind ana because of stuff like this. the aim required is like 0, but in order to be as effective as possible you need to know so much counter play and where i play (3800) a good mercy can still carry aslong as she has one other good player with her, where as other healers are so reliant on just killing the dps or pressing the correct rock paper scissors ability to get away for free mercy gets away with good timing and decision making which means the person diving her can also predict what they will do making it a skill based match up. also i'm high, so im sorry if non of this makes sense. also, this video is very well done, i subbed so i can figure out how to kill all the god mercy players hehe >:)...
@Groanola4 жыл бұрын
While healing someone, do you reccomend switching to damage boost when they are firing? Like for example, if i’m healing a rein and he is swinging his hammer, I sometimes switch to damage boost right before his hammer hits an enemy and then switching back to healing. Or when a friendly Mei is freezing someone, i’ll swap to DB when she is about to use her secondary fire, even if she needs healing, JUST to secure the kill
@heyheyhello37334 жыл бұрын
If they are taking a lot of damage it’s probably safer to stay on healing, but if there only missing a little bit of health and no one is pressuring them then go DB
@h4xsama4 жыл бұрын

There’s a somewhat hidden bonus for that “tapping angelic descent” tip, and that it makes you pretty much silent, since the continuous tapping and releasing prevents the signature sound from playing. This can be extremely useful if you’re trying to escape from a lost fight, and you happen to be on high ground, or in the air when everybody else dies. Also useful if you plan on flanking. It’s allowed me to sneak up on Widowmakers before because they didn’t hear me coming at all.

my favorite thing about your videos are all the tiny tidbits you don't see in other guides! (things like bodyblocking for a frozen ally, etc). It makes me feel like even more of a support, even if some of my "supporting" actions are kind of hard to notice for most people. I had a roadhog flank my McCree as he was Noonin' from high ground, and I flew up to him as he got hooked, then jumped in front of the hog to absorb the (likely) headshot my already hurt Cowboy was going to take. It feels so awesome to do little things like that! thank you for all your guides :')

To which I respond, "All good. Mercy is here." Response: "Mercy isn't good enough, we need Anna." So, I don't switch and don't say anything but I do start shot calling. End of the round: 14,567 healing, 12 rez, 79% kill participation, POTG, 7 votes, and "Best damn Mercy ever." All thanks to Niandra and her videos. 🥰 🥰🥰 Thank you, Niandra for making me a better Mercy!

One thing i personally do a lot on mercy is getting as much dmg in as possible, and i don't mean like pistol dps for no reason. Like if the enemy as a Reinhardt with his shield up, it's sometimes better to shoot it yourself (if no one requires healing) as dmg most dps doesn't really make a significant difference. Exceptions to this are characters like symmetra, junkrat, zarya etc cause the really make a difference in shield breaking with dmg boost. Also if there are more than 3 people stuck in a grav, it's very effective to guardian angel close to it and melee them (if you don't have valk or enough dps to kill them) as it gives a lot of ultimate charge and makes finishing them of a little easier . Also i haven't ever seen anyone else do this (but im on masters ps4 soo) but in valk, you can use crouch and jump alternatively to make you go up and down easier which also makes you harder to hit.

I LOVE the subtitles feature. It's extremely useful and helps me track ult usage better (I'm good at it to begin with, but sometimes my mind is too focused on the fight - being able to glance at subtitles a moment later can help remind my brain "oh yeah they just used X ult in addition to the Y I remember"). I keep it on the strictest setting and it still lists things like rein charge, doom punch, as well, which are of importance to me for the reason you listed. I don't read them constantly of course, but they've definitely helped me a lot as something I'm able to glance at (or track more thoroughly while respawning). I recommend subtitle feature to everyone.
@trevian12274 жыл бұрын
I agree. The subtitles are particularly helpful for anticipating EMPs, since Sombra's uncloak is subtitled. In that split second you can be ready to use your ult or other cooldown to avoid getting hit, i.e. fade away as Moira or valk to get it out before getting hacked.

wouldn't it be great if there was an option for guardian angel to only prefer beam target when your crosshair is not aiming at a teammate ? that way, you can still heal someone as you get to safety, but you can also save yourself from falling off the map. you'd be able to have the best side of both settings

Also, you should do a video on flankers! I have trouble sometimes with flankers and being overwhelmed tracking them when I'm tracking enemy ults and CD's, and friendly ults and CD's, not to mention everything else, so sometimes I have no idea what to do when I'm constantly getting flanked. I'll fly up to a teammate, but they're in a middle of a fight, so if the flanker doesn't outright kill me, me having to reposition poorly to a teammate in a middle of a fight will get me killed. I just don't know how to position myself correctly for flankers that always attack me. I'll try different things, like for Tracer, I'll move to high ground, but one game I did that, they also had an echo that would force me off the high ground, where the tracer would then target me, and take advantage of that. So a video on how to deal with flankers would help me immensely, as that is what I struggle with the most.
@davidvila50534 жыл бұрын
Using another support in these situations should be a consideration. A good Mercy also know when it's time to swap. When I am getting too focused or when I feel that my Mercy is not giving enough value to the team (specially when DPS is not the best) I use Lucio or Moira as my backup option. Sometimes you are getting too focused or the match is a total mess that there's no solution to that and you should swap.

im gonna throw out a little tip i’ve been using since OW came out. on some maps (eg King’s Row) you can stay in the character select screen after the timeout and hear some enemy heroes walking to point from spawn. the really obvious heroes are Doom and Rein since most of them use their abilities to get to point faster.
@PirateWalnut4 жыл бұрын
For your Junkrat Tip, I think you should also encourage dmg boosting someone (best case scenario a hitscan or someone who has reliable dmg that could potentially kill tire) while being in a safe distance because if you are able to help kill tire then no one dies. This may feel a bit niche because this can be risky since you are allowing your beam to be scene/ positioning a bit closer to teammates.

I'd make a footnote about playing cover specifically when torb turret is still on play, that thing alone can kill a mercy in valkyrie and it's easy to get oofed by the turret if one is not paying attention to it's position and being forced out of your own positioning. The autoaim when the turret locks onto mercy is a real killer. Against echo, immediately starting to heal the person echo is trying to sticky bomb can help them survive the followup damage if there's no additional damage applied, since the beam only starts to ramp up at 50% hp. I accidentally duplicated enemy mercy on team dm though and immediately brought back my other support in front of enemy team, knowing I could not die as echo mercy, took one point off and even got my valkyrie lmao.
