You have no idea how much I (and probably many others) appreciate your content. You explain everything so well, even the tiniest details! You know this is literally the only video that shows you which drill bit to use to clean up the excess dried gel polish from the cuticles. I have a client and I cured her nails after having messy cuticles and I’m here thinking what’s the fastest way to clean the excess without screwing up her polish. And this is the only video that shows me . Even though your not talking about flooded nails . This helped me . Thank you

I'm not a nail tech but decided to learn since the last two nail techs were drill happy on removing acrylic from my nails. Leaving my poor natural nails brittle. Came across YN on KZbin and bought several items. I love that you educate your viewers on how to use the actual products along with giving tips on how to do nails! For this reason, I'm buying these cuticle bits from you instead of Amazon. Take my money! 😂

How do u make sure that bit isnt digging into the surface of natural nail? Over time my nails developed indents from my efile.
@patriciagallacher67415 жыл бұрын
Always try your very best to keep the bits flat,flat as in the same direction of the nail and don't apply any pressure, slow speed too. Hope you don't mind me answering but l too have done this too when I first started doing my nails, always thought applying pressure was good but it wasn't, l was doing more damage. I'm sure Greg will help you out when he sees this.

@@patriciagallacher6741 Thanks! I am new at nails just like u said it happened to u as a beginner. I think Im holding the file at an angle rather than flat. Great advice thanks.
@youngnailsinc5 жыл бұрын
Right like Patricia mentioned often it is the angle of the bit as well as pressure. There shouldn't be any pressure applied let the machine do the work for you
@SomeoneInAppalachia5 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% with Patricia 💜 I'll add a thought: As Patricia said, don't apply extra pressure. Your bit should be doing the work itself. If you're feeling the need to apply pressure, it could be that the quality of the bit is poor. In my humble opinion, bits are one of the areas that you need to invest in, especially ones that are used on and around skin and the natural nail.

These are diamond bits and won't be used as often or with as much wear as a removal bit would so I would say these will last about a month each give or take. Since these aren't being used on hard surfaces they shouldn't wear down as quickly.

@youngnailsinc This looks great! so i still dont understand why its so controversial (the Russian Manicure controversy), Help im so confused!!!!
@youngnailsinc5 жыл бұрын
I think just sometimes it is taken to the extreme, cuticle work should be to maintain the cuticles and remove dead over growth, never cutting live skin
@KR-mx4nt5 жыл бұрын
@@youngnailsinc Thanks, so if these bits touch up against the live skin that is bad, like we need to keep them from doing that even a little bit and only use on just the nail plate?
@dizzyrizzi62465 жыл бұрын
K R these bits won’t damage the skin. They’re meant to be used on the skin to get rid of dead skin and cuticle on the nail bed. The controversy with the Russian manicure is that they typically use cuticle scissors to remove live skin. Just remember to keep your efile on a lower speed when you do cuticle prep, personally I don’t go beyond 5 or 6 thousand rpms. Hope this helps you out
@KR-mx4nt5 жыл бұрын
@@dizzyrizzi6246 Thanks so much, im still confused unfortunately because the article in NAIL Magazine by Doug Schoon made it sound like these bits cause small dermabrasion and that is why the Rusdian manicure style is bad, so im still confused lol : (
@dizzyrizzi62465 жыл бұрын
K R he’s probably talking about taking it to the extreme. I’ve seen some instances where a hard callous had built up because of aggressive “dry skin” removal. If you go lightly, not apply pressure, keep your rpms low and use clean bits there should never be a problem. Another thing to take into account is frequency, you should never ever work the cuticles more than once every 2 or 3 weeks. That can cause trauma to the skin and cause callouses to build.
