It's gratifying to see and hear Jean Wells in this video. I bought A Patchworthy Apparel Book in the early 1980's and her book was dear to me in those times. All the beautiful illustrations and sewing ideas were pored over again and again. Pictures of a very young Valori inspired me to make my own daughter the dress with a basket quilt block centered on the bib front.

Thanks for sharing. Just a little note that if one knows how to stop and pivot then I would suggest they do so for the bottom, (meaning that you start at a corner 1/4 inch to the point stop pivot then sew down one side, same at each corner of the bottom, hope this makes sense) but if they do the size of the bottoms need to be 6 1/2 instead of 7 inch, mine fitted perfectly using this method. Sew your outside top to outside bottom then both the lining and bottom, once done turn inside out and it will fit nice and snugly. Quilting as you want by hand. This is just a suggestion. also made the strings 40inches instead of 34. I made this for my daughter and are eager to make myself one. They take no time at all to make.
