Tips & Tricks: Removing Sticktight Burrs

In this episode I demonstrate how to remove burrs from my ASAT camo. This trick will save you time!

I have nearly torn my hair out trying to get these things off my husband's pants and shirts. He gets into them in an overgrown garden that his LA Iris Society is removing LA irises. This week was the worst! I almost threw away his t-shirt, Columbia shirt and his waterproof pants because they were covered in this miserable sticky seeds or whatever! I have used the edge of a credit card in past, but took me forever... your simple trick of the spray can top was GENIUS!!! Thank you so much!

My husband gets into these each year. I have tried everything from cottonballs, to combs, to sticky tape... Let me tell you this year it looked liked he rolled in them.. all over him, inside and outside of clothing.. actually thought about throwing clothes out.. but I am so glad I seen this.. IT WORKS MAGICALLY!! I saved the clothes and my sanity... thank you soooo much!! I know this will come in most handy. And nothing to BUY!! Already had lids.. this is so awesome. thank you so much. My only tip is I actually starting "combing" it away from me because they were beginning to stick to me.. brushed it outwards and no issues!!

Thanks for this- you saved me so much time and effort. I had my shirt and pants and socks and shoes completely covered. They got everywhere- inside and out. I found a flat plastic spatula with a sharp-ish edge and used it to scrape them off. Worked like a charm.😅

ordinary cockleburs scrape off more easily if you soak them. Not sure same is true of the types of burrs you're dealing with. The whole purpose of plant stick-to-stuff structures is transport of the seed to somewhere wet and warm they can grow a new plant. In order to start the new plant it has to let go. Water makes them swell, which messes up the hook structure so the seed payload drops off. Confound thy adversary.

Been a bird hunter all my life, took the dogs out and didn't take my chaps and boots, what a mistake. I tried this and it worked better than anything I have ever tried. Good for jeans, but can't really use on shoes.

🇨🇦 ✌Here in Canada, we call them COCKABURS, but we have at least three different types up here. To remove these and other burs, just use a stainless steel pot scrubber. It works great. Even though pot scrubbers work great, I am going to try your spray paint lid tip next time.

I got like two of them stuck in my hand yesterday one when I was feeding my horses and when I was trying to get out of my dog's paw and then I got one stuck on my foot and I used water for all three of them to soften them up and they came out less painfully

What if the burrs are off but there are little bristles left in the clothes that won’t come out with a comb or duct tape, then what do I do?
