I don't think you want to thread and bolt that pin down. As I understand it, that is designed that way to have play so if the gate shifts or weather causes the gate to wobble while closing the pin has room to move around and secure itself in the latch and the gate doesn't bounce off the pin. I'm about to install this, this evening. Good overview and I like the way you attached it. I was contemplating the muffler clamps they recommended.

Most likely true - however all that play causes the gate to rattle around in the wind. Looking at the Viro Lock V96, has a different design that doesn't use a pin. Isn't cheap thou.

I would not bolt the latch on the post. Here in Florida with expansion and contraction you need that little bit of play when closing. I have not had any problems with its ability to stay locked. I have had a lock a long time on my system. Watched you video mainly to confirm how to wire the lock into the new 371W. Never had to use a jumper before. Thanks Great Video.

My gate lock enters the black box then does not latch and bounces back. Is there a way to fix this in the control box. I know where the buttons are but how do I know where to set it?

I installed gate lock. Sometimes it works fine but sometimes my gate bounces back of locking pin and stops outward. What needs to be adjusted to fix this problem?

that pin needs to float. U bolts would have been far superior to your sloppy flange mount solution. Typical sloppy homeowner install….

Mighty Mule is Garbage! This lock sucks! Fails all the time...

Had mine for years with no failure. The only issue I ever had was due to gate sag. Installed right, should last years.
