I Quit Instagram - Here’s Why

Has anyone else noticed this - the comment sections on KZbin are typically pleasant conversations, but over on instagram, oh my gosh the comments can be SO brutal and even downright disgusting!! My theory is that the instagram algorithm is not as good so it will send content to people who are not the right audience and you get this influx of hate. I actually love instagram as a platform but it’s starting to feel very toxic.

Yup. Instagram just doesn't do much for my business either. So I just use it for fun, posting pretty pictures and updates as stories. It's also a different community for me than YT so I also tease new KZbin videos as stories with a link. Pay-to-play is absolutely correct. As frustrating as KZbin can be, it's the best opportunity platform in town. Thanks for the video.

Same sister!! I quit recently too! Never scrolled it, can’t keep up with the silly demands, rarely watch short form content anyway so why would I create it. Kissed it goodbye! Life is too short to do anything you don’t love! It’s not about exploding anymore because you’ve busted your rear on every platform. It IS about building your own little community. SO much more rewarding than entertaining people who simply don’t give a rip. Goes for personal FB pages too! Community pages are so much better!! And YT is always where it’s at! Great video, glad you popped up in my feed!

Thanks for sharing this video , I left social media 7 years ago. I came back a few months ago because i started writing a book. Im a very shy person and perfectionist. I wish I would have just left social media alone . As a writer I thought I needed an audience to help me sell my book but I realized I don’t think I need instagram I feel safe and more comfortable on KZbin

Thanks for the video! I decided to refocus my attention on KZbin. I recently posted some new videos on starting KZbin over 40. I’m just sick of chasing the algorithm on on Instagram and I feel just like you. I find that I compare myself a lot to other creators who have the perception of perfection. I keep trying to wait until the end of the year to make my final decision whether to stay on Instagram or not but to be honest, I think I made my mind up months ago that I don't actually like Instagram as much as I thought I would. 😬 I barely even consume content on IG as I do KZbin or Tiktok. I stay on IG for the various ways I can link to my services but it's honestly not worth it for my goals right now. I feel much better on KZbin and I think I will sit today and adjust my strategy to go all in on KZbin. Thank you for the video, this might be my sign. 😂🙏🏾

And you know it's funny it took me a second to reply back to you because I opened my notes app and started writing what I think is going to be an email to my audience about how I'm leaving Instagram.🫢😅 I don't know what came over me but I think it's always been there this video just gave me the courage to finally admit it that I don't want to wait any longer. Starting a new IG channel has been brutal. No views no likes/engagements and if you want others to discover it, then you need paid ads. I havent shut mine down but if I am already making a short, I just use it to post cross platforms.

It’s pretty easy to say when you’re established. And any rant rage causes views anywhere it’s a gimmick and a good call to action. But if anyone were to have an established insta and KZbin they could do the same wouldn’t affect them. If and if that against why not delete all social medias. I’m new to social media like only one year in. But it’s like high school and sales tactics.

Instagram doesn’t like me. It doesn’t show my art to people and I’ve been stuck at under 200 followers . I can’t get engagement because it won’t show people my art process posts. I want to make the move to you tube and tik tok but I want to make sure I’m in a better position to post regularly so I don’t end up killing my reach there as well. I just went far too long on instagram with not posting . I literally get less than 10 views reels these days. I’ll Still keep it for just uploading the same stuff I do on KZbin eventually. I won’t delete it but I won’t make it my go to primary place to post once I get going on KZbin and maybe TikTok.

Livestreams idea: Watch another "huge" youtubers video with us and comment what he (or she) is doing great. And show us (with screensharing) how to do the same thing after. It could be about his script, thumbnail, titles, editing, etc.

Instagram is the worst, I also quit. The conversion rate was like 1-2% compared to other platforms. Not only is it a time-suck, it's mentally draining and I don't have that negative experience on YT or other social platforms! I do post on IG Stories tho, but it's just for fun with 0 expectations.

I honestly don’t think its about the IG strategy.. to run a successful IG strategy it takes so much more time for less results than I’ve seen and my clients have seen on YT for so much less content… I also honestly believe for a business owner to see reach on IG you will need to pay to play

If you are only planning to post about YoUTube videos... you might want to save your time and just focus on building your community on KZbin... Instagram will not push content that is linking to another platform and people follow people in Instagram for Instagram content, not KZbin. So I would take that into consideration where your time is best spent
