The only thing worse that I've seen done to a toilet, was on Canada's Worst Handyman, where some guy tried to remove a toilet by smashing it with a sledgehammer.

He sort of cheaped out - he could have opened the tank on the back and filled that too so when he's done with what's in the bowl he could flush and have it fill back up.
