The "sticky" tires were originally kinda let's see what happends if we made a mud tire out of the same compound(rubber) as drag slicks. I remember when Peterson's did a test on the prototype set and loved them. So basically it's a really big drag slick with a mud tread cut into them

Have you noticed any comparison pros and cons to the Mickey's that Jeremy and Holly are running?
@BumDog21125 жыл бұрын
Great question
@bleepinjeep5 жыл бұрын
I like Jeremys Mickeys but they are almost twice as wide so I dont think I could run them on mine without the tire getting into the engine bay or without running some crazy offset wheels. But as far as the tread, the mickys do better in the mud for sure. I'd venture to say I had more traction than Holly (who also ran the mickys) in the west... but thats hard to say as her rig weighs probably twice mine so....

What’s your thoughts on BFG reds for the tn, al, ga area
@n20jeep5 жыл бұрын
Reds work extremely well in the SE
@donanders21105 жыл бұрын
I run 39 reds on my buggy. I live in TN and they kick ass, on my light rig. If I was to own a heavier v8 rig with tons, it would be 43 tsl stickies all day. My Father In Law just bought a set of 43 Stickie Mickies to try something new, they seem to be working well so far.
@bleepinjeep5 жыл бұрын
The only thing about stickies in TN is that once you lose the corners, they dont work well in the mud and clay anymore. Sharp edges are always gonna do better and stickys dont hold that edge long... although they might make up for it by being sticky, lol. But sticky doesn't stick to clay mud!
@granitesand785 жыл бұрын

@bleepinjeep5 жыл бұрын
I think I would buy again, and for sure I would swap back and fourth if I had a set of both... but I'd also like to maybe try some tsl stickies. But the fact still remains, new tires with sharp edges are gonna do better in the wet muddy areas every time!
@jacobkelley2575 жыл бұрын
when you air down, is it that effective? I would imagine those lugs on the side wall would keep it stiffer even when aired down, but maybe not.

not so much worried about superficial cracks but it does say right on the website that below freezing temps will change the compound of the tire: COLD WEATHER STORAGE NOTICE For Cold Weather Storage (short-term or extended): When the Maxxis competition tires are exposed to temperatures below 32ºF (0ºC), the unique racing rubber compounds used in these tires will lose their flexibility. This loss in flexibility can lead to potential cracking and other damage to the tire. TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCES OF THIS HAPPENING, CONSUMERS AND INSTALLERS ARE ADVISED TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Do not move or operate the car with these tires mounted on the vehicle if conditions are below 32ºF (0ºC). ALWAYS INSPECT FOR SIGNS OF CRACKING! NEVER USE TIRES THAT HAVE CRACKED! 2. Always store these tires indoors and at temperatures above 32ºF (0ºC). 4. Avoid transporting and handling these tires in conditions below 32°F (0°C). 5. Do not mount or dismount these tires when the surrounding work area temperature is under 50ºF (10ºC). ALWAYS INSPECT FOR SIGNS OF CRACKING! NEVER USE TIRES THAT HAVE CRACKED! 6. Before mounting or dismounting, store these tires indoors for at least 24 hours in a temperature-controlled area of 68ºF (20ºC) or warmer. ALWAYS INSPECT FOR SIGNS OF CRACKING! NEVER USE TIRES THAT HAVE CRACKED! 7. Remove these tires from the vehicle and deflate to half the normal air pressure during prolonged periods of non-use or storage. www.maxxis.com/catalog/tire-149-107-trepador-competition
