I literally had a new (mileage use wise) 15" Carlisle trailer tire (China bomb) blow out on my 2nd spare wheel/tire combo *while it was sitting in my garage*. For years I maintained 2 loose spare wheel/tire setups. I took my 2nd spare with me when we went on super long trips (maybe 1x or 2x a year big vaca type trips). I went to grab my 2nd spare out of the corner of the garage for use in a trip we were about to take & it was flat. Was like, o-k, let me pump this back up & get going... nope. Upon closer inspection the tread had separated & 'blew out' while it was aired up on the wheel while sitting in the corner of my garage. Never again!. I sourced some non-China-made tires from then on. After I got rid of my trailer with 15" wheels on it I vow'd to never own another trailer with less than 16" wheels so that I could get into high-quality North American made truck tires & such. Never had a single problem after that point, which is over a decade ago now.

Wow, thats a heck of a story. A blowout just siiting in the corner in the garage? That's insane!

@@TheCampoholics I know right? Absolutely true though. Didn't mention before but I had a massive blowout with one of those same tires on that particular toy hauler one day just outside Kanab, UT. I inspected all the tires before we left Kanab & the tires were less than 2 years old. Going about 45mph on acceleration leaving the town limits, we heard an enormous 'bang' over the top of 4 adults & 2 kids in the cab of the truck. The left rear tandem tire let go with such force it 1/2 way ripped the fender off the side of the trailer. Was super t'd off about it. Those generation Carlisle 15" trailer tires were just complete junk but some top-tier trailer makers were using them like crazy.
