What do you watch Flip Bike for? Is it the fixing up of bikes, the proof of value, the education, or something else? In this market where even bike companies are struggling to make a profit, we can still put bikes on the trail and have fun with it. If the "flip" is just a bonus feature for you, I'll get to work on finding some more clunkers!

I stumbled across this series and channel while trying to modernize and fix my neglected 2008 Trek 6000. Thanks to advice and insights from this series it’s now converted to a 1x9, hydraulic disks, new bars, stem, grips, seat, bearings repacked and running great. All for around $250 as well! The added bonus is the quality content on this channel I now know about! Yeah I could have gotten a new, modern bike, but I love to fix things and make them better. I feel more proud to ride my upgraded bike than I would to have bought one new.

My buddy bought a used Marlin 5. We upgraded it by putting a new crankset, bottom bracket, rear wheel, cassette, shifter, derailleur, and wheels. The bike was $280. After upgrades it could be sold for $700+ for when he decides to get full sus.

I like watching the upgrade and fix videos and they're some of my favorites. Breathing new life into things that have been used and neglected is lovely as it is, but it's also a great way to figure out upgrade paths and what servicing needs to be done. I've started riding again after I bought a cheap and misused MTB from a flea market and it's been a fun repair and upgrade path to get it to where it is now. The only thing that's left of the original purchase is the frame, but the bike is mine. Everything on it fits me and it's the most comfortable and maneuverable bike that I've tried. Getting random compliments on the street about the bike is such an unexpected and satisfying thing, knowing the sorry state it was in when I got it. It's silly, but I want to see more older bikes being rejuvenated and out into the world, getting complemented.

My dream bike from 2013 is now a Flip bike in Seth`s show. This Trek Fuel was something absolutely unattainable, given the fact that in 2013 the official dealer could only bring Trek 6000 to Ukraine. On the other hand, I was a student and could only afford a brand new Trek 4500 (in my google photo by the way). I can't believe it's been 10 whole years and I haven't owned a bike in a long time. But your video made me think of my pipe dream again. Thank you for these emotions. Your content is just incredible :) Keep going!

PERFECT TIMING ... I've got a 2013 Trek Fuel 9 I'm rehab'ing after buying off a neighbor who moved away, and that I then let sit for about 5 years because I could tell it needed some costly repairs. Now, I've got the free time to go through it and do all it needs, but out here in So Cal, there are just too many good new or newer bikes for what I would have to sell it to make a buck, that I'm just fixing it up to get reacquainted with my local trail ...

Seth, keep the breadth of videos coming. The Flip Bike series is fun as you seem to enjoy taking what you see in a bike and tweaking it to get to its full potential ... all the while explaining what you're doing and keeping it real. My experience with buying used bikes to build up my stable is it can be hit and miss. I overpaid for the first bike as all the running gear eventually had to be replaced and as you noted in the video I could have spent the same money on a new bike with an upgraded front shock. Sometimes its the journey and not the destination and Seth's can-do attitude is infectious.
