I'm sorry about the loss of your brother and all the feelings of sadness and guilt it brings up to consider letting go of your loved ones' things as well as your own from your childhood. On the upside, you made it all make sense (love the idea of the boredom box for random items) and you reached that amazing 1K milestone so congratulations on all your success. The bins fitting so perfectly in the chest was a thing of beauty!

Thank you. 💕 It ended up being quite an emotional project on top of all the physical work. But the end result was oh so satisfying and still going strong.. just hoping we can make it work after Christmas. 🙃 Thank you!!! I can't believe it. The accomplishment feels so good. 😊

Such a huge accomplishment! His closet looks so neat. I remember cleaning my kids rooms and removing bags and bags of garbage! Somehow the whole house breathes easier when the kids rooms are managed. Amazing job!

Thank you! 😊 It really does feel like such a huge weight moving all that stuff out of the house, and the totes have been such a game changer.

Yay! You did it. When I was a kid...many years ago :) My four siblings and I had a few toys that we shared or handed down. We also had a few books that we read over and over. Never felt deprived and we all learned to read, no problem. I still have some of those toys. The onset of plastic has changed the game! Wow...what a load to sort through. Thanks for sharing.

I love that you had that experience growing up. That's so special! I think it's even fun for older siblings to get to experience their "old toys" again with the younger siblings. And It's extra nice when there are the toys that cross over all age ranges. Thank you for watching. 😊💕

Now I feel the need to do our kids toys! Especially the books 🙈

I highly recommend it! The last couple weeks have been a breeze compared to where we were before. *insert tears of joy* 😅

Loved this video! Such inspiration to go through my kids toys and storage organization. I love clear bins too and with lids! Thank you for another wonderful video!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found inspiration! 😊 A few weeks later and the system is an absolute dream compared to what we were dealing with before. Thank you for watching!! 💕💕

Soooooooooooo satisfying. I remember doing all that sorting when my son was little. Fun, sad, exhausting, satisfying. All at once. Yes, give your mom the hacky sack. My condolences on your brother. My only technical note is to not have printed commentary on the screen during the last 30 seconds or so. KZbin added in your pic and two links to videos. We can't read that last sentence (darn, because I love your printed commentary). OH!!!!!! I notice you've now passed one thousand subscribers! Congratulations!!!

Oh yes, SO MANY FEELINGS. But nothing beats the feeling of some kind of order when it comes to toys. The next toy tackle will be the toy room at my moms, where the hacky sack will be relocated to. 💕 Thank you for letting me know about the end. I didn't even think of that. I said that 2 weeks later the tote system has been working great. Which I am VERY thankful for. 😅 Thank you so much! I can't believe it. 😍

I watch the minimal mom and she’s great at talking me through clearing. I find it can be overwhelming and very emotional too. You did a great job.😊

I agree. The internet is just an overall better place with The Minimal Mom. 😊 Thank you! I was a lot of work, but SOOOOOOO WORTH IT!

We moved into the place we’re renting in May, had Elias at the end of July, and things are continuously a mess and all over the place. Love watching your videos because it actually does motivate me to start little projects. I go back to work soon though 😕 lol now to learn how to juggle that too.

Oh wow, that's A LOT of life transition in such a short period of time. I can't imagine the amount of packing/unpacking and organizing you've had to do. I'm glad the videos have helped you find some motivation, but also you're in the time of life I feel like we moms all get a free pass to be a little messy. 😘 Speaking of messy though.. (or lack of haha) .. I've been remembering recently, how your house as a kid was so clean all the time. I don't know if it was because your mom had two girls or what.. but I feel like even when we were playing or your mom was cooking it was still clean. How did she do it? 😅 I hope the transition back to work goes smooth. 💕💕💕

@@SimplifyingTheSatherns my mom is the queen of clean lol. I also don’t remember playing with my toys outside of my room much. I think one time she told me she used to not be able to sleep if there were dishes in the sink.

The rooms look so good and organized. I also love the clear totes (you can see what's buried at the bottom without dumping it all out). Also CONGRATULATIONS on 1000 subs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! A few weeks later and the tote system is still going strong! The clear organization has made a big difference. Thank you! 💕 It hasn't quite sunk in yet. 😅

I love Dawn! She always has good advice and as a fellow minimalist I always say get rid of as MUUUUUCH as possible! And I learned with my own kids~ they truly do better with less stuff. Books were always hard for me to let go..not sure why we are so emotionally attached to books?! I donated an ungodly amount of books to the local libraries..then if we missed them we could go check them out! I am sorry about your brother!!

Less really is more. My sons school just added a "free little library" and I'm already itching to donate some things there. 😅 Thank you. 💕💕

Dear parents! When Your kids are very good behaviour all the time and always taking good care of their things, keeping their rooms very clean, loving their favorite things and want to make nice childhood collections of their things: books, clothes, toys, video games, clothes, DVDs and etc, then donataing is very wrong thing to do. If You have few space then storage boxes and shelves will help You out and Your kids will be very happy and thankful then, if they can keep their favourite things. Childhood things are very valuable and it is very sad, if they won’t see them anymore in their life. Every child should have the right to keep their things, if they can take good care of them all the time!!! Respectfully, Astra Viil 🥰🙏

I hear what you’re saying. I was very strategic about what I chose to let go and I can honestly say a year later the things I parted with were never asked for. I pay attention to what they actually play with and do choose to hang onto some things for the future even if it’s out of our current rotation. For our family it’s just unrealistic to hang onto every toy that passes through our home because my kids unfortunately can’t manage all that inventory on their own and that’s where I come in. (another evaluation of what we’re choosing to hang on to will be needed after the holidays) Having a lot of toys and other material things isn’t all that there is to having a happy childhood. 🤷🏻♀️ Thank you for watching. 😊💕

Do you mind sharing what wearable pump you use? I am about to return to work (I have been home with my new baby girl) and considering that option.
@SimplifyingTheSatherns Жыл бұрын
Congratulations on your new baby girl! 💕 I got the Momcozy S9. My thoughts on this... I got this when my little one was over a year for maintenance pumping if separated here and there. I don't know if I'd recommend this specific model for pumping and keeping up milk supply on a daily basis if you'll have a small window to pump. The suction is just no where as strong as a traditional pump and I'm sure there are other hands free models out there with more power... but if given time this will do the job. When I was working I'd power pump in 5 minutes on full blast. There's no way I could have made that happen with this haha. I do know that they've updated this model since I purchased it, but I don't know exactly what changes were made. I hope that's helpful.. even if it's probably unhelpful haha. 🙃 I hope your transition back to work goes smooth! 😊💕
