I'm a Tisas Raider owner along with its Girsan competitor. Like the Videographer, I love the FDE finish. A couple of things. I was always trained to use a Bore Brush in the direction of Bullet travel. No point in nicking up the barrels crown by accident. Lastly. I agree about removing the Firung Pin Backplate. Removing the Pin , Pin Spring and the Extractor then cleaning out the wells from which they came with a Solvent of choice and those Q-Tips. Your Extractor issues will be few this way..and the Breech face cleaner than ever.

A bore brush that can damage the crown or any part of the barrel is to hard in my opinion. I won't use some of the harder ones that are on the market. I just let the solvents do the job. If necessary I'll soak them.

Thanks. Just bought the Raider today. My first 1911. Could take it down following the instructions in the manual, but there is no way I could have reassembled it without this video. The manual just doesn't cover some of the essential steps you point out.

About every 200-300 rounds I also depress the firing pin, slide the firing pin plate off (careful, firing pin has a spring and is under tension) and remove extractor. Clean extractor tunnel in slide with a Q-tip and use cleaner on extractor, firing pin, and firing pin stop. Reassemble in reverse order. Keeping firing pin depressed while sliding plate back on can be an adventure.

That's why most rarely ever go that far.

Do you know if it is possible to find an ambi mag release/switch for this model? I am left handed and would like to see if there's a more comfortable way to release. Thank you.

I've watched several videos on this Colt clone by Guy's that really know a lot about the 1911 , ALL of them said this is an outstanding Colt clone. The fit finish and proformince are on par with much more expensive USA Manufacturers. At 25% the cost of the genuine Colt . I thought that was very impressive for a five hundred dollar clone , worth every penny 😁 . Thanks for showing us beginners how it's done .🤠. Ps. You missed a spot 🤣

I start cleaning everything with a dry cleaning first. I take a paper towel and go over everything. Then you dont have extra slop in the mix when you start getting everything wet.
