I’ve had my Tisas PX-5.7 for about two months and have fired 19 different ammunitions through it (all the FN Ammo and five different Elite ammunitions). The only ammo that failed to extract was the SS198LF. Same problem that you had with the SS195. The velocity was there with the SS98LF (2223 fps/8.2 SDs) but would not properly extract. The 195LF chrono at 2166 fps with 10.4 SDs. The best accuracy ammo that it liked well was the Fiocchi 40gr Tipped HP that group at 10 yards in less than half inches. Velocity was at 1768 fps/SDs: 17.8. I found the Trigger of Tisas much better than my ROCK that I have. I now have over 250 rounds through it now and the only ammo it did not like was the SS198 (failed to extract properly). My favorite 5.7 pistol is still the S&W M&P 5.7. Note: i have the optics ready version and it did fire a little left of my PO. However, i did put a red dot on it and it's very accurate with it.

That's good information to have. When I called they said some of the lighter weight rounds may give me some issues. Like you, I favor the 40gr stuff. Those light rounds loose a lot of energy at farther ranges and the 40gr fodder hits harder past 100yds. Thanks for your information and anytime you have advice on these 5.7's fill free to share.

@@573reviews Surprisingly, the Tisas PX57 holds velocity pretty good with only having a 4.8” barrel length. The following ammo produced advertised velocity or better with 40gr rounds: Hornady Critical Defense - 1824 fps/22.0 SDs; Fiocchi 40gr FMJ - 1719 fps/18.3 SDs; Elite Ammunitions Penetrator FMJ BT 2090 fps/61.9 SDs and of course the Fiocchi 40gr Tipped HP - 1768 fps/17.8 SDs. The Ruger with a 4.94” barrel was less than 5 fps different in velocity. In fact, some ammo was faster in the TISAS than the Ruger. I keep data on all my 5.7 pistols (Ruger, ROCK, M&P and TISAS) to include ammo that it likes or not (accuracy and velocity data). Yes i do reload for it. Note: The Elite S4 Ammo (28gr aluminum Core HP bullet) was the fastest: 2538 fps / 12.8 SDs out of the TISAS.

@josemato6351 we finally got to do some shooting out to 100 and 200yds and the 40gr had quite a bit more punch further out. The 198's were great at regular pistol ranges though. You have some great info for anyone researching loads for the 5.7. Appreciate you posting some here.

Good lesson. Just cause your gun doesn't like a certain ammo, doesn't make it a bad gun. Like an allergy, learn what to stay away from!! Thank you.

I agree with that. This pistol doesn't like the lighter weight ammo but runs great with 40gr. It's also very accurate. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@573reviews3 күн бұрын
@richardmolina4429 are you shooting the SS195 or SS198? Mine shoots the 27gr 198's just fine but the 195' seem underpowered. Of course I've had some other issues and think I may have gotten one that slipped through QC. Mine is just a sample of one and any issues I have should be taken with that in mind. Thanks for sharing how yours is doing though. People are interested in this and so far it seems like most people have had good luck with theirs.

I said last video “I always see people holding these but never shooting them” now I see why, harshest looking recoil I’ve seen from any 5.7 platform and I have 5 5.7 platforms. Not to mention abysmal aftermarket support no optic plate not threaded barrel and no extended mags. I suspect just like the PSA rock the cam is weak and I wouldn’t use hot loads with it.

Thanks for the info. The FN, Ruger and Rock did run this ammo but the Tisas absolutely refused to work with it. I'm going to cover all the basis and check the ammo Lot # to see if there's an issue but considering the other pistols ran it I'm hoping it's a break in issue. If not it will be a closet queen and only shot occasionally with 40gr fodder. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

Did you clean it before you shot it? Sounds silly but some people don’t do that. I found my mines worked good after cleaning and oiling it .
@573reviews3 ай бұрын
Turns out the manufacturer of the pistol and the ammo agree that a lot of pistols don't function as well with these 27gr and 28gr rounds unless they're hot loads. The 195's aren't that hot so the light projectile doesn't reciprocate the slide well. It may eventually break in but it ran the 198's so I'm going to avoid the 195's. Also had a small guide rod spring issue that was easily remedied. Functions 100% with the 40gr ammo of any maker.
@HennesseyNCigarz2 ай бұрын
I personally don’t think you need a trigger lighter than a 4lb trigger. Anything lighter than that you’re asking for negligence issues. Prosecutors are so vicious about that seeing as alot of them don’t like guns i wouldn’t want to be on trial when they get the ballistics report showing a modified trigger assuming no gun comes with a 3lb trigger and you’re a civilian and not law enforcement or military lol.
@573reviews2 ай бұрын
I agree but what's weird is it isn't the weight of the trigger that makes it a little difficult but that the wall is long. Instead of breaking on the wall it pulls through it. It's probably a break in issue and will get better over time. It's not atrocious or unshootable but after shooting the FN, PSA and Ruger the trigger is a little rough. The FN trigger isn't that good to begin with. Lol

I find it strange everytime I see a new gun come out from a non Glock or sig manufacturer Ive seen other people do reviews in this same exact gun with no issues but theres always that one bad review lol.
@573reviews3 ай бұрын
The pistol seems fine. It just doesn't run the light 27gr very well. After talking to the manufacturer of the ammo it's a fairly common issue. It should get better with the break in but a lot of people have videos of 5.7 pistols not running well with lighter ammo. I usually use the SS197SR so it's not as issue for me.

@573reviews3 ай бұрын
You are 100% spot on. That is going to get done by weeks end. I already took the Lot # of the ammo down and I'm hoping that's the issue. Oddly enough the other 5.7 pistols ran fine with it. If it's not ticking 2,000fps I'm getting in touch with FN.
@573reviews3 ай бұрын
I wanted to let everyone know the ammo was fine. Had the pistol checked out and the captive guide rod was tightened properly. He said the heavier bullets probably had just enough weight to make the slide work but the lighter projectiles didn't. Once he torqued the little screw that holds the guide rod captive we ran a full box of SS195LF just fine. He said I may have got a Friday gun. Lol

Same here. I wanted to like it and there are a couple things I do like about it. I'm going to check the lot# on this ammo and see if there's an issue there but the other pistols ran it. Might be a break in issue, may just be I got what I paid for. Thanks and enjoy the rest of the week.
@573reviews3 ай бұрын
I wanted you to know you were right about the qualitycontrol issue. Took a buddy about 15 seconds to get the Tisas running. The captive guide rod spring wasn't tightened correctly. He said the heavier bullets had just enough weight to operate the slide. Once he corrected the issue we ran 50rds of SS195LF through it as fast as we could.
