In the last few years I developed a liking for Turkish guns. I have several Caniks,Sarsilmaz and two Tisas PX9 gen 3. This PX9 really took me by surprise when I first saw it at my local gun shop, I did pay a high price for it at the time $340 for the Duty model, but when I got home and shot it I was impressed. I jumped online and found a deal for $299 so I ordered another one. The trigger on this gun are great, not as good as Canik but they are great. They are easy to shoot and accurate. I love both of mine but only time will tell how reliable they are. Over all they are excellent guns for the money.

I already own a couple of Tisas pistols (one in .45 ACP and one in .380 ACP), so I've been seriously considering the PX-9 Tactical as my next firearms purchase, so thanks for this tabletop. Can't wait for the range review. And, as an old Navy man, I appreciated the "forward and aft slide serrations"!

The Tisas Fatih is very nicely made and is based on the Beretta .380 series from the 1970-80s, but is NOT a direct copy and parts interchangeability is a crap shoot. My main issue with this pistol is that it's a blowback design and delivers quite an unpleasant jolt through the metal backstrap. Iyou're

For the price - or, for that matter, for any non-customish price - this seems like an excellent, duty-size, polymer/striker 9mm, with an abundance of features, from a top-design/quality manufacturer. I can’t believe a less than $400 price, even in our current “golden age” of autoloaders. Were I a youngster again, and I wanted (or could afford) only a very few firearms, this surly would be on my “short list.” THANKS, Howard, for this review . . . and I’ll not be surprised if this Tisas is a tack-driver.
@seanoneil277

I agree with Roy. Remarkable standard features at that price. The grip/frame texture looks underwhelming but Talon or HandleIt grip tape, or skateboard tape/deck tape, can fix that easily. The sights look quite nice, and I know that square top front post makes hrfunk happy! hrfunk, if you haven't bought the optic yet -- the EPS series sit a bit lower than the 407-507 series and even with adaptor plate for RMR pattern might be the best co-witness-ready optic. That takedown lever does indeed look like a gas-pedal-ledge! Overall this Tisas resembles my Springfield XDM Elite OSP enough to suggest they were emulating many of its features. The takedown lever on the XDM works like a gas pedal if your thumb length is just right. PS you probably already do this but for your viewers, a properly sized o-ring placed down inside the threaded barrel cap will help stop its walking off under fire. Take the barrel & cap to the hardware store and plow through their o-rings until you find one that sits nicely over the threads, and inside the cap.

@seanoneil277 I own a gen 3 nightstalker sf px-9 with about 800 rounds on it. I haven't noticed an issue with the cap walking out. The triggers are nice at about a 4.5 lb trigger no issues with running any ammo that I've seen they are very good pistols

Great review of a great firearm. Was real close to buying this pistol but bought a arex zero 1 tactical brand new for same price. But this is on my list to buy when I buy another firearm. Tremendous value. I've fired the firearm and loved it. Yes I do wish they would of taken some time and designed a better grip but for the price it cannot be beat I don't believe. I would gladly buy 2 of these versus buying a 1 MOS Glock! Wish they would come out with a 45acp in this platform.

@@hrfunkThank you sir for the walk down memory lane, it’s nice to compare notes to a contemporary. I was hired on in 1987, was issued a Sig P220 but had the option of carrying a 1911. After 2.5 years moved on to a larger agency and was issued a 1911 (lucky me!). In 1999 just after the LAPD N.Hollywood shoot out, I knew it was time for a high cap gun. I approached the owner of then STI, at the Shot Show, and asked if the would build me a duty not race 2011 in a commander length gun (then called the Falcon). Three months later I had my personal STI Falcon 4.25 2011. I carried that until my retirement at the end of 2016. But that was not the end of my law enforcement career. I went to work for Amtrak Railroad Police where I was mandated to carry a Glock. First I was issued a 22 then two years later a 17. Needless to say I was not happy, but I did have complete faith in the gun. I just didn’t like carrying a 2x4 in a holster. That’s my story. Thanks again for sharing and for creating great content.

Great pistol! I bought mine September of last year as a dedicated night stand gun! I own FNs, Smiths, Glocks & Caniks and my PX9 is second favorite next to my Caniks... very flat shooter, recoil is very manageable for a new shooter or student gun! I've had a year of looking for holsters... Springfield XDM & Sig P320 holsters will work and will also fit Glock sights.

Picked up a used Canik Rival at a LGS for a too good to be true price. Before buying the Canik I was eyeing the Tisas PX-9 tactical in FDE, went back a few days later and got the PX-9. And Doing a 101 series could be beneficial to start with or end with The 4 rules of gun safety. Go to a busy indoor range and how many obviously don't know them. A good 10 seconds of reinforcement of Safety to 101 people I actually learned them from Brandon Herrera because he throws them in his videos periodically and seamlessly. The Tisas PX-9 Gen 3 has been hard to resist, but I already own the gen 1 which is heavier in weight, but also a nice gun. Additionally, I'm already the king of Turkish made pistols with the BRG Elite, Sar 9 and the AGAOGLU FXS-9. My question is, do you think either the Beretta APX A1, The IWI Masada full size or the Walther PDP Full Size (4" or 4.5") would provide a materially different experience? Like a kid with toys, it's hard to resist the allure of something new when they're well priced, though I realize time is better utilized focusing on one or a small number of firearms. Would be a whole lot easier if we could test drive all which interest us, but of course we can only try what our range offers or a friend will loan us. I was able to try out the PDP compact, and I can say it was immediately accurate for me. I've been surprised how the same hold yields materially different results from gun to gun.
@hrfunk
@hrfunk Жыл бұрын
Materially different? Probably not. Impressed as I was with the PX-9, I didn't buy it precisely because I have so many other handguns that fill the same role. Still, for someone with fewer handguns and a limited budget, it would be a strong contender.

Nice vid but do not use the takedown as a gas peddle, when you shoot you will experience recoil and could tear down while trying to chamber new round.

Looking forward to the range review. I've been curious about these pistols, but haven't gotten around to picking one up myself. If memory serves, I read from a Tisas Rep they're based on the XD platform, with modifications. Like the Sig mags, and of course no grip safety to break and lock the gun up. Fingers crossed It'll be a good shooter, not that I have any doubts.

excuse me good Sir... can you point me to anyone who manufactures optics mounting plates for this gun? I have been trying to find something or someone online and so far nothing.

I’m sorry but I cannot. You might try calling Tisas USA customer service. They might be able to help.

What about spare parts availability ? If you shoot you need spare parts.

For the price of these things, I would just shoot one until it falls apart and then buy another one.

We’ve gotta watch out. Federal, unfortunately, is selling live ammo that looks like dummy rounds - Syntech lipstick sounds are the worst offender.

It seems that their new system has a glitch. They are open today. If you give them a call they should be able to straighten it out for you.
