First time watching the channel. Enjoyed your down to earth approach for most of us non experts. Also love 1911's! I own 2 tisas pistols and for the money definitely great guns.

I'm far enough from an expert, that's for sure, but when I was thinking about buying them, I just remember wanting to watch some honest reviews that weren't a Tisas commercial. Every one of these guys says "I'm not getting paid by tisas for this" or " I have to buy this gun" but they are holding it in their hand which means Tisas comped it to them for testing and review. That shit gets old.

Thanks for this info! I'm planning on getting a Tisas 9mm DS 1911. Not too many videos show the accuracy potential of shooting groups.

Your light Kimber was really jumping. Could be the reason the group opened up a little. You are good with the 9, that’s for sure!

That kimber needs an arched mainspring housing to make my weird hands happy as well. It's also ammo dependent. There's a few makes of fmj .45acp ammo that thing just does not like to shoot!

Tisas PX9 carry is legit top shelf. Purchased for my wife EDC. over 500 rounds through it after 100 rounds of break in. Nit a single malfunction

They work pretty good for program compliance. I bring that little purse every where I go and it stays clipped on when I'm in public. Sadie's is a purse that slings over one shoulder and she also carries it everywhere!

Excellent review. The 9mm did devastating damage to the watermelon. I saw a test on an old army helmet. With a .45 AUTO and 9mm 1911's. The .45 AUTO made a dent in the helmet. And the 9mm went right through. They were using plain ball ammunition. Many custom parts from Wilson Combat firing pin and spring. Also the Ed Brown ejector. Did not fit on my Tisas Tank Commander 9mm.. Expert 1911 Gunsmith Martin said the firing pin is shorter. Just like the Taurus 1911. The Ed Brown firing pin floor plate and the trigger didi fit. He got the trigger pull down to 3lbs as requested. He said the handgun is excellent and the original flat wire recoil spring it came with is excellent.Also installed Pachmyr rubber grip. Beautiful quality, heavy, and super accurate. Even the Wilson Combat Elite 10rd magazine did not fit. As the mag base plate goes up on the front of the magazine. He said it shot excellent. I tested it at my backyard range and I couldn't stop firing it. What a pleasure. The grip feel/angle, spot on trigger, and the incredible accuracy. Fired several magazines full with the original mags. PPU and Winchester ammunition. Slide locked back every time. Price was $412 from grabagun. Extremely reasonable as she's all steel. No plastic trigger like the Staccato's or aluminum lower grip module. Plus it comes with two 9x round magazines and with several extra 10rd mags from Chip McCormick or Ed Brown 10rd magazines.. Who needs a $2.5K double stack 1911. That's rifle category. Perfection.... PEACE

I am going to start a series on here called "shooting bullets through trash" just to see what does stop certain calibers. .45 has a lot of power, but also a lot of surface area. So in applied ballistics s, I would expect .45 acp to deliver more damage per equal foot pounds to the same target, but the coefficient of penetration is much lower. Does that make 45 or 9mm more effective? Same old story. Depends on the application.

That is good to know about the wilson magazines I was about to break down and order some here soon, but honestly I think I'll stick to these checkmate

Was the 9 mm more smooth then the .45 tank commander ?
@timberfallingcouple
@timberfallingcouple Жыл бұрын
The 9mm is smoother, I think perhaps due to a lighter recoil spring and the entire action being cycled by much less power. The finish on the new vs old generation was not quite as smooth, but someone said it is parkerized vs cerakote on the old ones although my box still says gray cerakote. 🤷🏽‍♂️ The 9mm does have the tendency to try to nose dive the top cartridge when loading hollowpoints for carrying around. So some care needs to be taken when loading it, but it cycles them without incident when firing. I do get frustrated with how easily 9mm ammo pushes that bullet into the casing compared to the .45 I'm used to carrying and rechambering the same ammo quite a handful of times in a 45 without incident, but in 9mm, once or twice is enough to have shortened COL by about .030 or more. Thanks for watchin

Hahaha it sure doesn't feel like it. Recoil is considerably gentler with the 185 grain stuff but it sure does a hell of a number on targets

You can always add different sight sights to that 9mm
@timberfallingcouple
@timberfallingcouple Жыл бұрын
True that! I've just never swapped a set of dovetail sights so km a little scared to try to tackle it and for now that one will do just fine. I was talking to one of the gunsmiths at the range I go to and he suggested filing my rear notch deeper to bring my groups down, because I was sad it marked so high and I think I will here soon. Make that adjustment to the right and then start filing on that sight until I get it brought down. I like my handguns about 3 or 4 inches high at 25 yards
