I have the 35mm PRX quartz and it is a great watch. The size along with the quartz movement is basically a 1 to 1 of the original 70's version. It feels like a real piece of history on your wrist for a very small price!

True words Scott, I am as well a fan of the correct reissues, from the size perspective as well.

I had the exact same sentiment about the PRX quartz as well. From a historical viewpoint the quartz model is actually the more historically accurate variant. The irony is that the seastar quartz was indicative to the quartz crisis Tissot faced during those times, but now the revival of the model is literally one of their best sellers and an anchor model within the latest line-up (as of 2022)

Just bought the 35mm quartz as a gift for my dad and he absolutely loves it. Only issue is that the second hands seems to be misalligned in places. It would infuriate me but my dad isn't really a watch guy and didn't care about it so he's happy!

personally, I compared the quartz to the automatic in an authorized dealers stand. I left with the automatic, not because the quartz is subpar or not worth the money (it very, VERY much is worth the money) but because I have a preference for the waffled dial and the powermatic 80 movement. i think that for $650 it's a bargain for a swiss made watch with a finishing that rivals $1500 watches that have a movement with half the power reserve. Either way you go, either quartz or automatic, you'll have a great watch.

I would prefer having an automatic, but the quartz version is a more logical option because is almost the same for half the price. I really like waffle dials, but the white version with the brushed dial and the hands and markers in gold is so gorgeous for me and that dial is only available in quartz so it's pretty much a no brainier for me. But to be honest my favorite PRX of all is the new chrono in white, because it has those characteristics plus it's an automatic chrono.

That's why for work I wear a BERING Solar 34440-702 10 ATM (100m WR), It is a Solar powered quartz, that lasts 10 months on a full sun charge. It has a butterfly clasp, and sapphire crystal. It has date window, that I never adjust, apart from recently as of February 28th fix to March 1st. It stays true to the time set, doesn't deviate manically. It gained 4 seconds in 7 months. Can hardly complain. Has a charcoal colored, off black dial, with 3 sumbdials, can be used as a chronometer. The seconds measuring hand is colored red. While the hour and minutes are silver, with lume set full length inside. Has non-rotating bezel as the bezel displays the hourly markings. It's a great looking watch, that I've received more positive feedback from the team of people, peers, and acquaintances. Goes well with a suit, without the "look he's trying to hard 'look'".

Automatic watches are like manual cars. Cool to collect, fun to drive, but I wouldn't use them as daily drivers especially in a city. In this day and age where everyone has atomic time synced on their apple watches/iphones, I don't want to be caught even a few minutes off using mechanical watches. I hate having to reference other time sources regularly to make sure my watch is still accurate - it takes authority and confidence away from the watch. The whole point of watches is to keep time, and to me a reliable and accurate watch makes me more punctual. Of course to some watches are simply jewelry, I have nothing to say about that. A perfect balance between smart watches which are accurate but requires constant charging and syncing with another device, and mechanical watches with it's cool factor but a relatively lack in reliability and durability is quartz. I love myself a quality stainless steel, saphire quartz.

Hi, I guess I'm fine with that. I won't need to open it for a long time as the watch is solar powered. The back is flat, you don't feel the screws. The one from 1998 has a screw down crown and caseback it has polished roman markers and a waffled dial. Inside it has a removable protective metal plate that sits between the caseback and the battery maybe against magnetism? The modern one has non of those features and a plastic movement holder.
