I have the same seastar powermatic 80 also I picked up one over a year ago and I say it is getting alot of wrist time. I find the size and feel is just right. I do have a few citizen pro master divers one is 48mm and the other is 46mm I just find that the sea star is just a nice fit. But I say my go to watch is my Squale atoms 60 tool diver. But. Nice review. You got some nice watches in your rotation. I have a few also. Once you get one you are hooked. Keep up the reviews.

Hands down the most in-depth review of the Tissot Seastar 1000 I’ve seen on KZbin. Like how you presented the pros and cons. Pros outweights the cons in my opinion. Hope I’ll catch this diver at a sale in the future :-)

After watching this video I have just ordered this watch from goldsmiths. I think I’m in love 🥵 I dive a lot, well not recently because of what’s going on but 300 meters water resistance is ridiculously good for me! Hopefully it lasts a long time

I like your presentation approach. Rather unique and refreshingly different from many others. Good stuff ! Hope to watch more of your videos. I have the gold two tone version. Nice watch and love the 80 hour movement which is also very accurate. Wonder how it can have 300 m WR with a display caseback. Most divers at 200 m WR already do not have it.

I agree! Many watches seems like it's an afterthought.. I look at mine all the time and wish most were larger or at least has a magnifier like Rolex has.. at least this one is much better than the Citizen's that are deep, with gray writing.. this one is pretty clear tho smallish.

@WristwatchObsession
@WristwatchObsession 3 жыл бұрын
thanks! Yes, I highly recommend the solar expert II.. I wear mine all the time.. I read of the failures, but when I added up all of the incidents from Amazon, and other review sites I only counted about 8 or so in all of the places I looked.. considering how many they make it's a small number. However, it's not going to be as robost as a G-Shock.. and the hands are moved fast by micro-motors.. so I think if someone over used the hands by using all the features all day I think it would need servicing in a shorter period of time that would be expensive.. I use the alt & weather gauge and timer ... no issues so far.

Disagree on the Lume for the Tissot. It's bad. My Alpinist holds a charge all night and the Seastar dies after a few hours. Additionally, the indices are clearly more dim than the hands.

Yeah, but you're comparing the poor SuperLuminova on the Tissot against Seiko's Lumibrite. Obviously Seiko will be far superior.

@@gilbertosanchez2847 It gets blasted by the lume on my Laurier as well. Lumibrite is available to Tissot, they just choose to use inferior materials. Not only this, but within 6 months the threading on my crown broke and Tissot has been fighting me to get it fixed since then. I recommend against buying anything Tissot or Swatchgroup.

To say this has a 2824 movement is a bit of a stretch, it maybe based on the 2824, but it is not the same.... The 2824 balance runs at 28800 bph (4Hz), has 25 jewels and the etachron regulation system This watches movement is a eta C07, kinda the cheap brother of the 2824. Balance runs at 21600 bph (3Hz), has 23 jewels and no regulating system to speak of... so adjusting accuracy maybe difficult. For the money though, this watch is pretty good, sapphire crystal and good water resistance , but not a 2824....
@bebo5365

Andy Rose ur a snob. This movement was innovated because it lasts longer and it’s cheaper to service.
@andyrose5441
@andyrose5441 3 жыл бұрын
Bilal Cadili lol, snob? Sorry I corrected your inaccuracies. I know some people dont like facts. As I already have said, this is a good watch for the money...oh and saying its easier to service is a stretch also, the watch wont be serviced in the traditional way, ie. cleaned and lubed and put back together, instead the cheaper parts will just be replaced, damn sorry more facts
@bebo5365
@bebo5365 3 жыл бұрын
Andy Rose that’s actually incorrect. You can service this watch (basic maintenance) from any watch repair shop but the more sophisticated parts you have to send it to a authorized tissot dealer to get it serviced.
@andyrose5441
@andyrose5441 3 жыл бұрын
Bilal Cadili look mate, if by service you mean adjust the strap, grease the crown stem, clean and polish, well, I agree with you. But to my original point.... the etaC07 movement that is found in this good bang for the buck, not unattractive, accurate watch is still, not an eta2824 movement. To say the C07 is based on the 2824 is in its engineering design background is, well, true. But, and its a big BUT, the movements mechanics are not remotely similar. I will point some of these major differences in movements for you to make my point clear.. 1. Eta2824 runs @ 28800bph-4Hz EtaC07 runs @ 21600bph-3Hz, that’s 25% slower, and the difference between the second hand sweep is very noticeable to the naked eye. 2. Eta2824 uses the etachron regulation and adjustment system EtaC07 uses ETA’s new regulation system. This is the MAJOR difference in the two movements mechanical make-up and horological philosophy. The C07 regulatory system is not serviceable nor is it adjustable. It is a replaceable part, probably replaced at regular service intervals. The regulation of the part is done by computer and fixed at the factory. I am not saying this is good or bad, the movement has a positives and negatives depending on your school of thought. The regulation systems from experience seem, overall, reasonably accurate. The fact machine made packaged regulatory systems, are cheaper to manufacture, and with no human error introduced the movements have narrower variation ranges between manufactured parts. The fact the part can not adjusted, or serviced - means watchmakers can no longer adjust the watches accuracy, ever, and are unable to true or replace individual parts of the regulation system, over time this part will wear, the watches accuracy will diminish. That’s why I stated before this part will be replaced in regular service intervals, what they maybe, only time will tell. This regulation system being cheap to manufacture may be the way of the future.... T.L.D.R..... The 2824 and the C07 movements are completely different at their core. The thing that’s gives the watch a heartbeat, the regulation system, is slower, cheaper and unserviceable in the C07, its a machine made replaceable part.

Andy Rose wrong! This is why I call you a snob because you write all that like it all matters when it actually doesn’t matter. You talk like you have so much knowledge but with all that knowledge you only breed hate 😂 you didn’t get my point about you being a snob but what you just explained there is untrue because first of all the difference between these 2 calibers are not much at all they added a silicone spring to make it more durable and added other silicone parts as well for durability purposes and yes they lowered it because so it can have a power reserve of 80 with one barrel they managed to figure that out and that’s really amazing. Don’t forget your Rolex and ap have many plastic parts even more then this sea star so your argument is invalid. Second of all when you take your watch to a watch maker to get it serviced it should of been like 5 years or so, that being said that’s the only time you might wanna “regulate” your watch. If you need to regulate your watch on a consistent basis then you got a crappy watch. I don’t need to ever service my seastar until it requires 4-5 years from now I will and they will obviously replace everything that needs to be replaced. The regulator can also be replaced btw so your argument is invalid. Go hate on another watch. Lmao what you’re saying is this: a 2020 BMW is worse then a 1999 or 1995 bmw ... pure crap man you’re one of those people that hate modern innovation.

In reality these watches even Longines the time keeping is hopeless. They need to be adjusted twice a week to keep time. Only Onega master co ax or Rolex keep time without adjusting twice a week.

@@fungus70After AD sent watch back to service twice my friend’s longines still needs to be adjusted once every 3 days. Even my old Omega Seamater needed adjusting once a week, after going back to omega service. It was purchased new in 2004 and problems from 2004. Funny how my Rolex from 2017 has no issues.

i feel like these tissots are way too overpriced for no reason. seiko, orient or citizen make similar watches for way cheaper. and if i want to spend that much money, i would add a little more and get something like a tag or marathon.

Was seriously looking at this watch until I saw it in person. For me it looks small on the wrist (I usually wear a Seiko Monster), has too much reflection from the crystal, difficult to read the numbers on the bezel and bezel clicks felt cheap and a little loose. Very disappointed as I seriously considering this watch. Even with a $200 discount would not consider it for a second, especially with a display back.
