TiStand TOAKS Titanium Alcohol Stove Dual Stand and Windscreen

TiStand is composed of 4 titanium pieces and 2 tent stakes. Total weight 2.5 oz (70g). The set up of 4 pieces works with TOAKS 550, 650, 750ml pots or 450, 375ml cups. Demo by @wearehikertrash.

They always make the side air flow holes way to big on these type of things and it hurts wind blocking. They could have easily made the holes half the size they are. Would have blocked much more wind and still allowed plenty of airflow for the burner.

Do you think it would work if you only used 3 of the sides put together to create a sort of triangular shape ?

Where did you purchase it? The ones I see online appear to have huge cut outs in the top as well?

On the official Toaks website, it is under 'Stove'. I intend to buy one soon myself in combination with the Toaks alcohol stove and the ultralight pot.

There are a couple of versions. The one in this video holds the pot, acts as a windscreen around the bottom of the pot, and has a wider base than the pot which helps stability. It weighs 70g including the tent pegs. The version with the large slots in the top doesn't 'protect' the bottom of the cup against wind, is narrower so less stable, but weighs half at 34g. The version with the mesh pot stand and the separate wrap around windscreen is even lighter at 30 for stand and windscreen (based on Toaks website weights) but the windscreen is very thin, and the stand is narrow. So there's some good options in there. I'd expect the two models with windscreens to outperform the smaller one in wind.

It is a bad design. You put a bigger pot without those sticks, and what happens? I've seen many bad stands, this is just one. the burn gases need come out, also without any isolating less restricting stands. Alcohol stoves need a stand and then also a windscreen for any pot size. Usually they are not combined and should not be.

But is this configutation perfect for this pot dimentions? If so, then it's not a bad design. If you want more versatility (bigger pots, pans, etc.) then use another stand. I thing I just found a perfect solution for this especific configuration. Superligjtweigjt compact Stand + windscreen for any small acohool stove + pots from 450 to 750mm (enough for 1 person).

@@dacelo3 Yeah I just bought one used on the “e-bid” sight NEW $15 & a used TOAKS siphon stove (same place today) with fuel 200 proof denatured alcohol 3/4 of a quart for a discounted price of $20 to use with my TOAKS 550ml & 750ml mugs! Great deals & a great combination
