I personally think the lid is much more functional being somewhat loose bc it allows you to lift it off pot easily while cooking. One handed operation is key for me. I also have the MSR titan pot. It is very good quality but the lid fits tight and I need two hands to remove. As for the bail handle, I removed mine and slightly bent it a little tighter and now it stays upright for me. Good video. Cheers

regarding the lid issue you don't like. They made it that way so that when it's boiling hot, you can pull the lid off easily with a stick or something.

The previous version of this pot had the bail handle at 90 degrees to it's current position - the problem with that was that one side of the bail was exactly where you would naturally try to drink from.

Thanks! I think I’m going to buy this one. I like the bail handle too, in case you run out of fuel and need to use it over a fire. I’ve noticed that some folks do mods to the bail to make it stand upright. I like that when water boils, the lid jiggles. Perfect imperfection. :)

If you want to hold the lid down: Put a stick through the lid-handle. So that it doesn’t fly off easily. And you can use the stick to lift off the lid even more easily.

I've found if you take the bail off and squeeze it gently and put it back on then you have friction on the pivots and it will hold the bail up. Not locked but able to snag with a stick. Yeah, still working on a fix for the lid.

I have this one and love it, i have the mug too that i nest inside so never had bail hitting me in the face while drinking problems. I mainly use the bail for hanging it over a fire while cooking, which is why i wanted the bail in the first place. Also never had any issues with the lid it works fine for me how it is, i think id rather have it how it is so its easier to take of while cooking.

Love those titanium pots. I have the Snow Peak titanium 700 pot. If you are on the fence with buying a titanium pot, don’t be. These are very strong and light as a feather. If you are going to use this as a cup, get the silicone hot lips so you don’t burn your mouth.

Plan on using this as my coffee cup. Will likely boil water in my larger pot and pour into this to use as a cup. Though the ability to use as a cooking pot, ability to hang over fire, ability to carry around camp at my side while not drinking, multipurpose, multi use is the key to the campdom.

I'm glad to say that my Lixada pot has a lid that stays snugly on the pot. In fact, it kind of pops into place. Lixada list's the weight of their 750 ml pot with bail at 128 grams, but I think that's with the pouch. It also had the locking triangle handle on the lid and has graduation marks. I picked mine up on ebay for $24.99, and Amazon has it for $28.99. Both have free shipping. I own both Toaks and Lixada products, and I find the quality to be equal. Toaks has some good prices on some of their products as well. I picked up their 1,600 ml. pot with pan for only $49.95 on Amazon. That's a lot of titanium for that price.

For the lid can they make it more concave so it sites deeper in the pot and could be used as a bowl. The bail hand, if it was turned 90 degrees and made long enough to loop over the handle so the bottom of the handle would hold it in place and out of the way.

I am not so sure how much Toaks listens to reviews as the design has not changed since the bail handle inception. The lid still falls off if you tip the pot, and the bail handle still does not lock. The only thing I would use this for, is cooking over a fire in Winter but it is still too small to justify dealing with the floppy bail handle and loose lid. Winter is a time for more water and so soups or more liquidious meals are in order. This does not meet the bill.

Hey luke, Honest review there. I would have to agree with you on the lid, that thing seems to come off even with a strong breeze, bail handle would be more suited in a different position but then if it was it would make drinking from it rather awkward, i have a pot/cup with the same style of handles an for me i think it's rather uncomfortable having the odd little indent at the bottom, i feel it would be more comfortable to have it at the top or possibly removed all together. That's just me though cause i cant fit 4 fingers into the handles. Strength and Honor.

Hey Luke have you tried looking at Boundless Voyage 750 ml pot which seems like a copy cat of Toaks or whichever one was the latter however the boundless voyage one is pretty good with the lid and it snugs well. Regarding the bail handle what I suggest it you can put a coloured silicon tube on the baik handle and remove it so that it’s easier to find and acts as a insulator as well. :)

Luke. I was watching this and noticed something. I have the exact pot. The only difference is that the handle brackets on mine are 90 degrees offset from yours. They are not under the handle like yours. You said that you did not like your location because the handle could flip down if you drink from it while holding the 2 foldable handles. Since mine is 90 degrees, I don't have that issue. The only problem with mine is that the bracket and handle are now in the exact spot as your lips are, which makes it impossible to drink if you are holding the 2 foldable handles. I would prefer your set up than mine. Thought you might want to know that it looks like your design was a fix to an earlier flaud design that I have.

Wish the lid screwed on like the Vargo pot. You could pre-soak food cold while hiking then warm it up whenever you're ready. Plus you can use the bail to hang the container in a tree to keep animals away from the food. Works better if it's air tight.

Hello, the cup with a handle is perfect in practice for a wanderer, durable, light, easy to use with one drawback is 750ml is a bit too little, I think that between 1000ml and 1300ml it would be good, not too little, not too much ml and volume.

Newbie here (with some decades behind me not new to life but new to this stuff) with a Q for anyone who knows: So I just got the AOTU stove (appears to be the same as the Etekcity here) and the Toaks 750 ml cup and did a test boil with a standard Primus 8 oz canister. I found I could not make the 3 minute boil time unless I cranked the thing up to what seemed like all the way AND, in the bottom of the cup, there was a quarter sized bright red spot, as if the thing might burn through the bottom of the cup. Sooo, all systems normal? Something might be wrong? Did I kill the cup? Please advise. Thanks.

What benefits will the tighter lid have? You want to be able to take the hot lid off if the water is boiling... If it is tight, accidents will happen... Spilling water, burning fingers or the pot will fall off the stove etc... So... Loose fit is the better way to go in my opinion

Titanium pots are really only good for boiling water. depends on your application I suppose. if you only plan on boiling water, I would bring titanium to save weight. if I was going to cook, even something simple like craft Mac n cheese, I would take the steel.
