The vibration takes some getting use to, especially if you've never used something like this previously, but I really like it. I think it'll come in useful when reattaching skirting after putting a new floor down.

Great video Just bought one today £44:99 I wonder why it say 25mm max nails on the box and instructions but on the gun it says up to 32mm I really hoping it takes 32mm as just sent for some on eBay as not many diy jobs you could do with 25mm nails hope it works with the 32mm nails just wondering have you tried 32mm nails
@marbah18893 жыл бұрын
Would the 25mm nails that come with the machine be good for nailing feather board fencing to the arris rails? Much appreciated for sharing this.
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
Depending on the thickness of the feather boards then maybe. I would say go for a bigger unit like a first fix nail gun but they are expensive.
@johnmorrow70803 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't 32mm jammed first time I tried them , I need to modify the gun , just need to file/grind a bigger nail slot in it , got the staple gut as well good gear well worth the money .
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
Only certain 32mm nails work. Not all as the majority catch but as you say, a bit of modifying and it’s good to go.

Hey, you mentioned that the gun can take 32mm nails. Do you know if it would be okay taking 30mm staples?
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
No 30mm staples will not fit. There is just a slot for the larger nails, not the staples.

@daggy78934 жыл бұрын
hi did you try 32mm staples? (i know maybe 32mm nails can fit) but not sure about staples. ta
@madebylewis30244 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried 32mm staples and I’m not sure they would fit as the cartridge looks to fine out at 32mm not leaving a lot of space for a staple.
@GreggCastree4 жыл бұрын
where do you get and what type of nails do you use? Thinking the 32mm?
@madebylewis30244 жыл бұрын
You can get this from ScrewFix. I use the dewalt 25mm nails at the moment for general pinning but the dewalt 32mm has been highly recommended by others.
@GreggCastree4 жыл бұрын
Made by Lewis cheers.....I purchased the DeWalt 32mm with the gun from Screwfix, but they stick in the mechanism! The 25mm nails that came with it work fine.
@t-rex42112 жыл бұрын
@@GreggCastree This is an 18 gauge nailer and the dewalt is 16 gauge. Could be why it’s jamming

Will this pin thin wood panels to plastered walls?
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын

Can you use it at an angle (for nails)?
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
You can but you just need to ensure that the safety tip is pressed in. It’s not as sophisticated as top brands but you can manage it.

Great video. Can you use this for nailing timber to brick/concrete? Thanks
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
No I wouldn’t recommend it for that. This is a second six nailer which is for pinning and fixing. You would be best of using a first fix nail gun.

In your opinion would this be powerful enough to get through 25mm wood (ash) slat plus 5mm mdf back panel? Planning to do a vertical slat wall. Thinking to get the 18ga 32mm model from Screwfix. Thanks man

@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
Ensure you apply enough pressure so that it gets the nail in enough. You probably have to apply more pressure than higher brands but for the price you can’t go wrong.

take the rubber shroud off the gun it is a nightmare to use as you are suggesting in error. take the bloody rubber shroud off the front of the gun. it is only there for transportaion purposes. Doh. your video is so wrong. you will always get the brads sticking proud of the wood if you use this gun as shown, schoolboy error.
@madebylewis30243 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your reply but the rubber shroud is a non marking tip. It helps when using on finished woods. I would not suggest to remove it.
