So many of us have been trapped with narrow minded bosses throughout our career that shouldn't even be in this business. I sure wish I worked for an owner that had as much passion as you to do things right. After 26 years I still love this trade and love what I do, I just learned to block all the negative and focused on myself and my skills to stay employed throughout the years to provide for my family. Hello Titan, I’m from Mexico and I’m currently 23 years old. I’ve been watching your content for over a year, and thanks to it, I discovered that I love the CNC machining environment. Watching the tool strike against the metal is very satisfying; being able to go faster each time and play with parameters is always very comfortable. Currently, thanks to the inspiration you and your team gave me, I decided to buy my first CNC machine and a Faro CMM with my father, who is a metrology engineer-a HAAS VF-0E from '98. I hope to one day have a shop like yours and a team just like yours.

I just came across this channel, and it took me back. I spent the first ten years of my career as a machinist and CNC apprentice. I loved it-every day brought a new challenge and the chance to create something meaningful. I didn’t make a lot of money and worked tons of overtime, but it was my passion. I’d spend Sunday nights excited to get back to work. Eventually, I transitioned into IT and then Cybersecurity, did well, but not a day goes by that I don’t miss the machine shop. I even dream about parts that need finishing. Money isn’t everything.

Successful people always say dream big and go after it, because their risks and effort and sacrifice paid off. But for every one that made it, theres 100 that werent as lucky, you can still fail without doing anything wrong, and nowadays, if you dont come from wealth, it takes a lifetime to comeback from failure...
@animus3d663Ай бұрын
It’s true, and it’s inevitable. But when successful people offer their time to mentor and help people who are struggling, that percentage goes down. And as the attitude of this industry shifts towards being more open with information, the likelihood of people finding success through mentorship goes up. It’s our duty to do everything we can to be a rising tide for our communities. And I hope more people in this trade start to realize that.
@beachboardfan9544Ай бұрын
@@animus3d663 Couldnt agree more, and just to clarify I wasnt throwing shade at TOCNC, just trying to bring a little reality to the content. Theres nothing wrong with reaching for the stars, but everyone should understand that it could cost you the rest of your life to do so. Even worse, your friends and families lives. When a lot of people seek investment, they get told to sell their friends and families first, get them to invest before institutional investors, which is a wildly terrible idea.

You need to be in the right mindset and listen to the voice of God. And you need to go in it with the right intensions and expectations. If your intensions are wrong and not deeply connected to who you are and what you love, you are more likely to fail in your path.

Titan….i have been a follower for years now. I came into this world, in 1946…troubled, abusive family, alcohol and abandonment as a young boy. Because of mentoring as a teen I was ‘saved’ or rescued would be a better work. In my case by a Navy Corpsman Chief. Eventually I became a Health Sciences, Life Sciences Educator…..i “found Tribe”. The Lord, my Savior directed me with nudges and people in my life. I know I was put on earth to be a an educator. That aside, I always had a mechanical side that worked on things, cars etc. Because of your presentations, I use your work to guide my two grandsons to seriously consider your directions, advice and self driven passion. If I was young again, I’d be knocking on your door….NOpounding on your door for an opportunity to prove myself. Thank you Titan, your advice and generosity is epic Sir.

Titan, Your shop epitomizes what I envision for Industry 4.0. The shop where I work, however, is pure chaos and dirty. Here are some of the issues I encounter: - Parts coming back dirty from the shop floor into quality, with the inspector cleaning them because the company won't invest in a washing station. - IMS is inaccurate in reference to the inspection tools and the balloon print. - CNC programmers stop acquiring knowledge for programming and continue to use outdated techniques on new machines that could run faster and produce more parts if programmed properly. - Not using gang fixtures on a CMM with a large plate, continuing to run one part at a time. - Processes not being documented properly. - No mist collectors on machines, making the shop floor look foggy. - Not using the ERP software to its full potential.

I've been a CNC Programmer/Machinist for 35+ years. In 2001 I made $21/hr. Now, with much more experience, I make $40/hr. Only $2/hr more after adjusting for inflation. So what is my experience getting me? The only way to make real money in this trade is to work 60 hours a week or risk it and start your own shop. With all the quality requirements that's getting tougher to do, at least for the profitable work in Aerospace. And now private equity is looking to scoop that up. No more ma and pa shops that care about their employees. It's a living, not much more than that. It's been good to me but could have probably done being a finish carpenter doing customer built ins. I respect the enthusiasm but most won't reach this level or even get close. I've seen ads for companies wanting to pay like $20-23/hr for someone that can do it all. Not a hell of a lot more than working at Starbucks. I always here about the need but the wages stay flat. So if there is such a shortage why is that. I think like everything in the USA, the boomers took it all and damn the future generations.

Titan you set an enviable standard, not only in your trade but in all trades. There are so many excuses for workshops out there with bosses who view their employees like oil rags and the rest of the business and company culture reflects that. They have a few people at the top who cream off the profits and take all the credit for themselves. These are places to avoid as they will destroy your self esteem and your will, instilling resentment and alienation into everyone who works there. And trust me, they are commonplace.

Love machining but companies don’t pay enough to live on, so i make 3x more crushin rock and hopefully one day get back into it once i get my own shop established. Holdin tenths on every part i made, from 2x2x2” to massive 96x172x14” parts, striving for perfection, but sadly ambition and love for what you do doesnt pay bills

I am very humble and my team knows that my life is dedicated to lifting each of them up… I am also building a company dedicated to serving millions and bringing value to their lives. I am very competitive and now, compete to serve and save lives. Most would ignore or delete your comment with a simple click… especially since yours is the only one with a slightly negative tone. I am engaging it though as many people that love my / our channel have been converted… and had the light bulb go on. Show me another Machining company that has emptied their bank accounts to create free curriculum for our children and workers… and who is actually putting action before their words to solve real and impossible problems.
