The ork forcefield should probably be an invuln, not a second set of regenerating wounds.
@josephvaccariello41812 ай бұрын
No it was kinda blatently unfair for the gargent. Random attacks+shitty bs means it had no real chance cause no matter what it was going to be the one who got charged since it had to move closer to get its weapons all in range and to try to charge it meaning its always going to be the one to get charged. Combine that with its lack of invuln and bad bs the person who made this played way to into ork memery. (you can justify a 3+ bs by just saying theirs multiple meks inside of it and grots since grots have a 4+ bs and meks upgrade it to a 3+. Theirs also a good chance like the titan does like 96 dmg in a single swing meaning even charging it can likely result in a one shot

@@jonbauml225 correct, the true might of a Warlord Titan and the rest of the God Engines is shown well within the lore. I'm a bit disappointed by the gargant's rules because in my opinion it falls into the trap that a lot of ork datasheets do in making it swingy, but having it swing between doing average (for a unit of its type anyway) and terrible rather than great or terrible, having both the amount of attacks and damage being d6 based is just a recipe for being underwhelming. I think you could take the average of the d6s for the amount of shots and give them flat numbers as unlike other titans it's only hitting on 5s, swingy damage is fun, swingy shots aren't, especially on top of swingy damage. Also not having an invuln save is a bit mind boggling given even deff dredds have invulns, even having the forcefield, orks vehicles and walkers naturally have a 6+ invuln to represent their rugged reliability. Also you could probably get rid of the belly gun rule that requires it to remain stationary, it already has to get within 36" to fire and is one-shot, being close range but also requiring you to sit still means that you're fighting against the weapon's design to even use it, and it's likely by the time you can close that distance either you'll be dead before you can fire or your opponent will be almost dead and a lot of the damage will be wasted anyway. Also I do like the terrain crushing rule but I think it'd be better to only take the wounds from the largest piece of terrain rather from every piece, titans should be able to cross through most buildings with little regard, something like a shipping crate shouldn't pose a considerable hazard.

The house rule for terrain was interesting. I kinda like it, but I also kinda don't. That seems like it needs terrain specifics. Like, if a behemoth titan walks into a tall radio tower (let's say 10 inches tall), that spindly tower could possibly deal a 10th of its health, even though in reality a titan would just walk past it. Same with a semi tall stack of crates which it'd just knock over. I think a terrain type needs to be established. Things like crates, basic buildings, or spindly towers are passive terrain. Whereas hazardous terrain like giant drills, reactors, or fallen ships that still have fuel in them are cause for hazard damage. It would definitely require some brain juice for the hazards, but I think it'd add to the immersion. Dunno if it'd be fun, might just be me. Still an awesome vid though!
