Also, I will continue to use the term "solar generator". We discussed this in the community section of this channel, in case you missed it: Definition of a Generator: a machine that converts one form of energy into another, especially mechanical energy into electrical energy, as a dynamo, or electrical energy into sound, as an acoustic generator. So it takes one form of energy, and turns it into another. So in this instance: -A gasoline generator takes energy from the sun, stored in molecular bonds (over millions of years with photosynthesis), converts this chemical energy into mechanical energy with combustion, and then converts it a final time to create AC power. -A solar power system uses the velocity of a photon to push electrons across a semiconductor junction, causing energy potential across a conductor which then charges a battery. The battery then powers a high efficiency inverter to create AC power. So in both instances, sunshine goes in, electricity goes out. What is interesting to think about, is that a gasoline generator is like a battery. And it does not create power on its own. A solar power system can actually generate power from the source: -A gasoline generator takes stored energy and changes its form (so it is technically still a "generator" by definition), but it does not create its own power directly from the sun. -A solar power system creates energy potential on its own from photons directly, and stores it, then outputs it at a usable voltage for consumer electronics. Sunshine goes in, electricity comes out. It is a solar generator. It is a simple marketing term that has stuck, and I like to use it. @@theo.k.corral6895 Agree with you. In electricity generation, a generator is a device that converts motive power (mechanical energy) into electrical power for use in an external circuit. It apply to alternators, generators and dinamos. Solar panel transforms light into electricity but do not generate it. Batteries store chemical and potential energy to transform it into electricity. An inverter converter box is not a generator unless a dinamo, alternator or generator is used.

Whatever the personal word for "solar electric utility" is. So, solar generator + time shift, or less obtusely, solar electric generator and battery system. Anyway, your sales term is fine! It converts the electricity from either solar or chemical battery to either chemical battery or electricity.

I just received mine last week with an extra battery pack (4 kWh total rating) and so far so good. It's a beast. I have 800 watts of solar panels and it handles them with ease. It has 2 MPPT controllers that can utilize a total of up to 2000 watts of solar. It allows up to 145V of series connected panels so you could easily run a 5S 2P panel array into each controller to get a total of 2000 watts of solar charging capability. It can even take a 6S 2P array on each controller if you want to achieve 2000 watts in less than ideal sun conditions. I went with HQST panels at $80 per panel because they were a lot cheaper than the ones sold in a bundled kit with the Titan. The panels work great. The Titan''s battery pack cost is on par with Battle Born batteries ($/kWh), and the 3000W inverter with 2 high capability MPPT controllers makes it very competitive with individual components. The convenience of stackable batteries with no extra wiring make it a great fit for portable setups in RV usage. As Will states, time will tell how well they hold up, but so far I am very impressed with the unit build quality and happy with the purchase. The only downside was the back order status. I had to wait over 3 months for my unit, but the vendors's communication was great along the way.

@esqueue5 жыл бұрын
The Battleborn uses LiFePO4 batteries which has a lower energy density than your typical lithium ion cells which this battery uses. LiFePO4 cells though can do 12 and 24 volt setups easily without the need for converters which make them great for automotive setups and they are more safe when compared to regular lithium ion cells.

i started watching your channel because we wanted a set up for our current camping needs and thinking about a future rv set up. my partner has a c-pap like machine that draws an enormous amount of power because he needs a complicated program with a bi-pap. i have a nebulizer that i use 2xs a day and then i need to sterilize it. plus he has to keep his insulin cold. so even tho were a mess we still want to be able to get out there. so i love your tutorials and the reviews because we want to create our own systems. but suddenly our needs have changed cuz we live in northern california where PG&E loves to turn off the power for extended times threatening 8 days duration etc. i think our longest one so far was 3 days. so now i'm really concerned about the fridge. i do not want to throw food out. all that cooking ahead stored in the freezer, fresh food and insulin in the fridge etc. so i've been going nuts like most of my neighbors looking a gasoline generators which seem like an awful choice, then how about the propane powered ones. but until this there was no solar powered generator that could run the fridge. i hate the batteries tho. i think of them as a big fire hazard. we can't afford a whole house system. we need something like this but with the lithium iron phosphate and we need the components to be somewhat portable. i seems like we'll need solar panels on the deck, the generator nearby so not so much power loss and a long extension cord to the fridge. and we need something now. PG&E plans to turn off power tomorrow morning. wow sorry for the ramble!

Wow, an 3000 watt inverter, a step up converter and a step down converter, with converter charger, 4000 wh battery, that is a really complete set! My only complaint would be the battery layout. It should have four expansion port - two vertical and two horizontal (which can connect to the horizontal expansion port of the controller) so that you have the flexibility for vertical or horizontal layout to fit in anyplace as modular setup. Right now, you can only stack them up higher and higher. Am I asking for too much? :) If not, maybe add a smart alternator connector ....

@WillProwse5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! But I avoid official consultations like the plague. I do not want to side with any company. These products come and go, and I never know who will create a quality product. But I love to make lists of what a product needs to have, and copy/paste it to every company I know. Takes a few seconds, and I am not tied to any company. I tell them "make it like this, or your company will fail" haha! Its so much fun. They are forced to make a quality product. So in order to create further competition, I have these companies fight for my affiliate link posting. If they create a crappy product (or change components, like ruixu did), I can drop them from the channel/youtube and tell everyone why. And this gives me incentive to find the best of the best solar products. If I find a good product to recommend, then I will make money from affiliate sales. If I find a crappy product, I will become angry because that means less money for me as well. And if I recommend a bad product, even once, my reputation is screwed for all time. Could it run the air conditioner on a 30 amp RV for a short time?

Kaye Loop We finally have ours and plan to do a video on it as well this summer! We find It runs the window unit AC well in out outlaw garage part with two batteries. I suspect three is going to be needed to run the roof ac. The rv plug works well and we can use our RV just like we were plugged into a campsite. It is so cool!

Sounds Awsome......But what is the cost? Is it worth the cost? Great Video Will!!! Just found it.....3000$ for just the Titan and one battery and each extra battery is 1400$......I am in the middle of a build, That seems pretty close in specs with this one(DIY). I really like this one!!

Enjoyed this informative new product overview. The Titan looks promising. Will wait to watch your long term review before making a decision but really like its user friendly ease of operation. Thanks.

I see some awesome numbers but is it 3000 watts with the 2 batteries as we see it on the video and is it $3,000 with the 2 or 3 batteries. Sorry for so many questions. It sounds pretty strong but is that unit in the video 2 extra batteries? Or one extra battery? each battery bumps up the price. The numbers are awesome, a great power solution for many 👍. Sounds like it could power a regular RV AC with a “slow start”unit? to help in starting up. I’m a huge laymen but learning through your videos Will. Edit I researched it. The handle equals 1 battery= 1,500 watts continuous add a battery (second handle) $1,595 then get 3,000 watts continuous. $4,595 bare bones as shown in the video. I could be wrong? and maybe discounts available. It’s a greatly needed unit type to get beyond the limits of AC’s and refrigerators for us RVers 👏👏 Titan👍

Question: Can one use this to use/run off grid? Regardless of my resources. Can I add more batteries? It seems the only thing I would need to add are batteries and solar/wind. Right? Gota go, Needs more quarters! YES, YES, YES. Do your home work! Love your video's!

Problem: Zombie Apocalypse? Solution: Titan, Thanks Will. Downside: You are so trustworthy, that most of of products you endorse are sold out, on back order or doubled in price because of your loyal following. As always, so fun to watch! Thanks.

Titan uses lithium NMC batteries now. How do you feel about these generators now, five months since you first previewed this generator. How noisy is the fan on this unit and does the fan run the entire time the generator is being used?
