Video review of the Titan T-3 Series Short Folding Power Rack | 21.5" Depth | V2.
THIS RACK IS TOO WIDE!!
Seriously.
In addition, Titan was ridiculously difficult to deal with. I loosely assembled the rack when I got it, and found that it was too wide to do dips safely. Further research showed that I would only have 5/8" per side to rerack the weight. I'm sorry, that is nowhere near enough when lifting heavy. My bar is actually wider than other bars on the market as well. I've been reading that some don't fit at all.
That said, I contacted Titan on 1/1, expecting to leave a message. I was completely shocked and impressed when I got a call back within an hour. The young lady was extremely courteous and helpful. She asked me to send pictures and she would request assistance from a supervisor, then contact me the following day. I waited until the next evening, and having received no call, I called back. After 30 minutes on hold I spoke to another very helpful young lady. I spent another hour on the phone while she went back and forth with her supervisor trying to get them to accept my proposed resolution, which was for them to send me one of their multi-grip pull up bars, which are 4" narrower, which would then make their product safe to use for heavy lifting, and actually usable with their dip bar attachment, that I had also purchased. The end result was that they required me to file a warranty claim online. I did so that evening. I waited until the 4th (2 days) and still didn't receive a call back or return email. I called every day after, waiting on hold for as much as 2hrs, without contact. I left voice mails for call back as well. Finally on the 8th, after an hour and a half on hold, I was able to speak to someone. After explaining the preceding ridiculousness I had gone through (including no response from their 'warranty specialist for 6 days), she stated that she would have a supervisor call back as soon as possible. When this didn't happen, I called back again. Another hour on hold got me another customer service agent, who promised to continually check with a supervisor until I received a call back.
What happened next is literally comical. I very quickly received a borderline insulting email from John with the warranty service, which completely discounted my very valid safety concerns, stating that since the width of the rack was listed on the item description, he couldn't "provide me with free items simply because I was dissatisfied with the product". Yes, that's a quote. He informed me that the pull up bar I wanted was currently on sale, and that their Y-bar dip attachment was on sale also. Shortly after my very...blunt email response to John, I received a call back from a supervisor. She denied them ever having had any issues with customer complaints about the width (blatant lie, even their 1st tier customer service agents had admitted it was a common concern), and offered me the same resolution of buying the pull up bar and dip attachment.
After a fair bit of arguing I finally got them to give me 20% credit off the pull up bar (which I had already purchased at full price after John's initial email denying assistance, as it was the only way to make the rack usable), and another 20% credit on the dip attachments I had ordered.
This amounted to less than $25.
I will NEVER DEAL WITH TITAN FITNESS AGAIN.

So glad I saw this video. I totally didn't notice that width difference between this model and the Rogue version. I think I'll go Rogue just to save myself the headache. Thanks man!

Glad to help! I love my rack...just wish they'd designed it properly. I actually like it more with the more usable pull up bar, lol. I also feel like I shouldn't have had to pay for their poor design...but that is what it is lol.

Awesome! Thx for posting. I just adopted a tall T-3 folding rack as part of a new home purchase. Looking for more stability, better pull up options, and safety when racking the weight I will hopefully be reducing my current width to this setup with that multi grip pull up bar. Just hope the current 2x10s have enough “meat” for the new hole placement Thx!

very helpful..I may just get the Rogue Fitness even though it's priced higher. I tried calling Titan to audition their customer service and I waited on the line for 30 minutes and the person i spoke with knew nothing more than what the website had to offer and was generally unhelpful. For the seriously price conscious though, you are likely looking at this and the Rogue R3w. The Rogue unit is still $260 (w/shipping) more than the Titan with the narrower multi grip bar (and you gain the multi grip functionality). Just a call-out that it can work and it's still cheaper than the Rogue, but Rogue is easier for me and better customer service.

I just ordered the same rack, and my bar measures 41.5 inches from the same points as your 46 inch measurement. They must have received a few complaints and shortened the bar a bit.

What's the differwnce between the t-3 foldable rack and the x-3? Is one wider than the other one? Is one better, safer than the other one?

Hi can I cut uprights of the tall (90") foldable x-3 wall rack To fit under my garage door rails? the 80" X-3 foldable rack out of stock. I will cut about 10" of each upright/post to make it about 80"? Et me know if this will work and if there is any downsides to this idea? Thank u

Everything is working as expected. The only addition I've made was to build up a weight stand and mounted it to the left (facing it) side. It holds 270lbs of 45's, 70lbs of 35's, 50lbs of 25's, 40lbs of 10's, 20lbs of 5's, a d 5lbs of 2.5's. I've got room on the rack for a couple more 45's, and easily 3x the rest. Altogether I can't complain. The rack is solid, well constructed (if imperfectly), holds all the weight I can throw at it (my entire collection of plates). With the added pull up bar as a spreader its appropriately wide enough for my Oly bar. In the end, it does what I bought it to do...I'll just never support them again after how they treated me as a customer.

Just came across your video after ordering a T3 V2 folding rack. Great point on the rack being so wide. Not sure why it was designed like that. I am thinking I can just cut one end off the pull up bar/brace that comes with the rack, cut the bar down 4" and re weld it back together to get the same effect you did with your multi pull up bar and then it will still be easily foldable.
@CrisAnderson27
@CrisAnderson27 4 жыл бұрын
That would work, but the reason it's not foldable isn't the bar. It's that you're shortening the distance between uprights. Wall to face of rack is 25". Inside upright to upright is 42". If you fold inward, they will hit. Outward is fine!

It doesn't. Not if you want to bolt it on/keep folding it. I point that out in the video. If you use two pins per side though, with a proper washer kit to limit side travel...you can use it and retain the folding utility.

Going through the same issue however, i have the 41 inch depth. Have you had any issues tbus far with it. My concern is aince my depth is longer what you did might not work as the arms are longer and might have more of a concern with that 42 inch bar. They also make a 42 in straight pull up bar. Worried about the bar sitting straight against the legs. Is your at am akward angle or ia it pretty flush??
@CrisAnderson27
@CrisAnderson27 5 жыл бұрын
Does your rack have one pull up bar? Meaning is that the only horizontal support? If so, this will work better than what came with it, as it bolts with three bolts per side (or one bolt and two pins), vs the two pins that the stock setup uses.
@CrisAnderson27
@CrisAnderson27 5 жыл бұрын
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by concern with the arm sitting flush? Nor why the longer arms make a difference. Also, this pull up bar is better and more comfortable in every way vs the one that came with it.
@camerons3331
@camerons3331 5 жыл бұрын
@@CrisAnderson27 so i have the 2 inch bar it came with as the only support. And i guess what i am trying to say is since you have the 21 inch depth shorter version and mine is twice as long depending on where the multi bar is attached my concern was the very ends of the arms moving further than 2 inches inboard. I just bought the rack and put it together and immediately noticed the very little room on the sides of the bar. I then pulled up yours and another dudes video to see if anyone tried anything. So again, with my arms being the longer version i didnt know if i could make it work. yours being as short as it is makes sense. That bar is what 42 inches. They also sell a 42 inch bar that is 1.25" versus the 2". I feel that might be pretty weak as far as support. Thats why iwas looking at the way you did it.
@camerons3331
@camerons3331 5 жыл бұрын
The arms sitting flush i only meant when the multi bar is attahced bc it is shorter amd your bringing in the arms a couple inches on each side does it impact the way the bar bolts to the arms? Like is the rear bolt flush amd the front bolt sitting off the arm a bit or vice versa. Titans website says does not work with t-3 folding rack which is what we both have, i simply have the tall and 41 inch depth version. Your the only guy ive seen or heard of doing what you did. Just curious how sturdy it is amd if it would work mine being the bigger model. Another question wouod be, why didnt you just use the 42 inch single pull up bar that comes with the full rack. Its only 30$ versus the multi for 70$?
