Haas is awesome. My shop is literally across the street from them. I did all the quartz bathrooms for them.

No one makes a better controller than Haas. It’s not even a competition. However, I wish they’d invest in higher quality, higher horsepower spindles. Charge us for it! We’ll pay for it, I promise! I love my Mazak horsepower, but the software in the control is soul-breaking.

I bought my first brand new HAAS last year. A VF5xt. I've been machining since 1982 and I've worked many high end machines. I can honestly say the HAAS is the best machine I have ever used. I will never purchase any other machine for my business. Well done HAAS! You should be very proud.

I have grown very accustomed to their controllers and operating these machines. I would probably be lost on a different controller. They are very user freindly, and easy to maintain. But the man said himself, they machine the spindles to a .0001", but him touching it, would change the size.... now apply that to machine temperature variations, ambient temperature, tool wear causing spindle load. We have an ancient Mori, that has a ceramic spindle, that holds tolerances much better then the Haas's. It sucks to operate! No auger, no offset measure. Still technically a superior tolerance holder though.

There are patriots who are keyboard warriors on the internet; fighting with strangers they see on the internet is all they do. And then there's Titan. You're the kind of patriot a country needs. Instead of engaging in some useless protests and unsolicited pandemonium, you actually did something about what you believe in. I'm from India, and even from the other side of the world, I feel inspired by you. Keep up the great work.

My first machine was a Haas Mini mill and it was fantastic! My second machine was a VF2SS and it was problematic and my third machine was a VM3 "mold machine" and it was a bucket of bolts piece of junk. All bought brand new. Over three years these were replaced with four Makinos and all I can say is I regret not making the switch sooner. I really wish Haas would try to improve their machines and build more quality into them. Running with Makinos puts me in a while different class of capability as a shop. Like .0005" true position in 5 -axis on a production level. Yes, we have a calibrated CMM...
@robertw4608
@robertw4608 5 жыл бұрын
The VM3 was shipped with a bad spindle, misaligned Z-axis ball screw,etc... And required several service calls to even get the machine up and running. It is hard to take delivery of your new baby, the enter of the shop and a major purchase only to realize you have been duped. Getting Haas to step up and fix it was an act of Congress as well. Select was very good to work with however.

I have worked on a HAAS and when we tried taking a decent cut, the machine wanted to jump off the floor. If you look at the "guts" of the machine you see why. Guide ways are roller bearings, not linear. Spindle is air cooled, not chilled oil. The ways are also very narrow. An entry level machine, good for schools and starting shops.

Yes! They do a great job. However, this is almost presented as propaganda and the constant reminders are a bit much. Flag waving is just fine to a point! Let's not act like we are the only ones who can produce quality as we've been behind much of the world for some time and remain so, especially in technical education and long term planning. Thanks for the video and best of luck.

I've run a lot of different machine's, from a fairly diverse list of manufacturers, and it's interesting how many shop's have found that a Haas machine can do 95% of what the high end imports from Europe, but for a fraction of the up front cost, as well as lower overall cost of ownership down to line, due to Haas's design philosophy of "If it's not there in the first place, it can't break". This then free's up capital they can then spend on whatever specialty machine they need for the off the wall stuff.

I can personally vouch for haas . I don't give a damn what anyone says , I've used ALOT of Haas lathes , Office lathe / gang tooling, SL10,SL20,SL30, and ST10T and they are extremely accurate to within a tenth or so !!!! Easy to use , maintain , and highly reliable. If you use them properly and with care they will last a lifetime - seriously . No need to spend 300,000 in a good lathe when you can spend 28-120,000 and do the same exact thing . PS I hate mazatrol controls , they are not as user friendly and you have less control. These are the ps3 / ps4 of machine tools .
