Great video comparison! I have a Nazgul and was looking to swap it out for something a tighter low end, the titan seems perfect.

Will the titans be suited for modern aggressive metal? Or you feel the nazgul sounded better for that kind of music. Im feeling afraid to purchase the titans due to my constant thinking of it won't be aggressive enough when compared to nazgul or juggernaut, aftermath, inavader... I don't know, but i feel like it won't be aggressive enough to play slipknot, textures, upon a burning body, chimaira, Limp bizkit... Well, since you tried them, you can tell me. Can i safely purchase the titan set without being hold back on the aggressiveness I'm looking into? I really want to like those pickups because i heard nothing but people loving them

Interesting how you referred to the Juggernaut and Aftermath as "aggressive," b/c the Juggernaut is pretty tame with a prominent low-mid focus, while the Aftermath, though bright, is relatively medium output. With that said, I don't think the Titan is an aggressive pickup. It's pretty balanced, with a full midrange to my ears. Your amp/guitar are going to make a big difference though, so it's hard to make a recommendation.

Well, first of all, thank you for the reply. The reason i said the juggernaut was aggressive for example, is because it is a pickup made to very aggressive music genres. I´m talking aggressive as suited for metalcore and other types of extreme metal. So let me try to make this question in other words. I fully understand that the amp, cab, mic, guitar,... plays a huge role into the tone you´re getting, but the pickups are important too. Since i am looking to play MAINLY aggressive Metalcore like Impending Doom, As i lay dying, Textures, and other types of aggressive metal like the riffs played by Ola Englund, Slipknot, Chimaira, Limp Bizkit,... i am looking to get the following gear: Dual or Triple Rectifier, or that Diezel vh4 on a cab that i have loaded with celestion v30. So far so good. The guitar i am looking into is the ibanez jbm that has precisely those titan pickups. I feel the cab loaded with the celestion v30, the dual/triple rectifier and the sm57 mic will do a great job into getting that aggressive but still definition sound i am looking into. The jbm has mahogany, ebony fret, amazing looks, and seems like one of the best Ibanez. However, there is only one concern i have and that´s why i asked about the titans. I feel affraid that the titans on that jbm are not suited for that metalcore aggressive music i am looking into, when compared to some barenuckles juggernaut, nazgul, invader,... So please sir, tell me what do you think about this situation. Would the Jbm with those titan be a good purchase for what i am looking? Or would you say, No, get another guitar? Thank You and sorry for long text. I am really looking for an opinion here. Thank you

if you're saying that the juggernaut is aggressive because it was made for that sort of genre,so does the titan.both of the pickups were made to cater that kind of music style to be honest.heck the one who put the idea into the production of those pickups play in a same band so i dont see why the Titan wouldn't be good enough for extreme, aggressive style of music.I'm too have that skeptical kind of thinking whether the titan aren't that good in delivering aggressive raw tone to the kind of music i'm playing but I can vouch it for you,it's one hell of a pickups.tight, massive, open and clear sounding pickups. In fact the Titan has been my go to pickups for every guitar that I have right now.I freaking love the Titan more than the Dactivator i use to own.seriously, you can't go wrong with the Titan.btw,i play in a deathcore band.I would say it sounded like BKP Painkiller on steroid.brutal but more defined and clear as hell.this "made for metal/djent" kind of pickups tend to have that annoying mid bump characteristic to it but not Titan.the mid is surprisingly controllable. The highs are smooth as hell and the lows tight af.definition?freaking clear!

Great comparison :D Were the Duncans a direct swap? I am thinking about switching my Dimarzio Super Distortion on my 752 to a Black Winter and was wondering about if this would require routing or modification on the Duncan tabs.

Yeah it was a direct swap but it already had the Nazgul in it when I got it. I just put it in a different Ibanez the other day at it just barely fits. As long as it has the rounded ends it should fit but some pictures show square tabs and those definitely would be a problem.

Titans are tight as fuark. Very dynamic too but they lack gain. I would say they are medium output

Titans are considered high output. Lacking gain is a result of the amp, not the pickup.

Brad Hargis no. I have a PRS Mark Holcomb with Seymour Duncan alpha and omega and the SD are way hotter, and they are not that high gain output as more bareknuckle contemporary pickups. I always find myself turning the gain knob pretty high with the titans
