Oh gosh, I misspoke when talking about the "new" voiceover for Scorch. I stated it's the same as Titanfall 1's Sid with some filters applied, this is false... it is Titanfall 2's regular Scorch OS voice with some filters applied... This makes it sound similar to Sid from TF1. Simple change that pretty dramatically affects meaning of that sentence... so sorry.

Totally with you on how Respawn is tackling Tone since launch day. They can nerf particle wall from 500 to 480 all week, what really needs change is how she plays out. Sonar could stop revealing pilots, the splash damage could be less effective against pistols as well, and they could replace particle wall with another defensive ability.

Agreed. Her main problem is how good she is at dealing with every type of threat in the game, and how few weaknesses she has. She's easily the best pilot killer and has just about the highest DPS against other titans, along with good agility and an excellent defensive ability, not to mention ease of use. Personally, my biggest gripe against her is how impossible it is to fight Tone as a pilot. She just has to look at you and boom, instant death. All the other titans have weaknesses that pilots can exploit (stay on a high roof to fight Scorch, keep dodging and moving around against Northstar, stay at long range against Ronin, and poke and hide against Legion), but Tone can kill you anywhere, anytime with an ease that no other titan can match. Combine that with _also_ being the best in titan-on-titan fights, and you have a straight up OP titan that needs to be nerfed into the ground.

I agree. I doubt the fact that Tone can one-shot pilots with her 40mm Canon will ever change, but I find it very irritating that on top of it all it actually has disgusting splash damage. I can't count how many pilots I killed inside buildings just by stacking hitmarkers after hit markers as they helplessly cower in corners. Sonar makes this so easily abusable too, you just can't hide safely in a building against a full potential Tone. A fire rate reduction also seems like another option - keep the same DPS; increase her 40mm damage at the cost of fire rate reduction, and remove the splash damage, and suddenly, she's WAY less efficient against pilots, each shot has to count, you can't just shoot in the general direction of pilots anymore, or kill them from 4-5 shots on an interior wall. And goose kills are more difficult.

THEAETIK Another thing would be to decrease the projectile size. Right now the projectile Tone shoots is very large, which is why it's so easy to hit pilots with it. It needs to be small, maybe even go back to the pinpoint size it was in TF1.

I used the optics on northstar this week end, and I have to say are quite good. You improve your situational awareness, and are able to spot enemies that you would have noticed otherwise. For certain maps/game modes excellent tool for sniping and spotting titans and pilots.

I think at the very least if you fire a silenced weapon it should not break cloak. To my knowledge silencers can only be applied to pistols right but it would still be better than nothing. I'm seeing a lot less of cloak in attrition now.

I already had a feeling Hidden Compartment would be a big Legion kit because Power Shot in its long range form is really really good. It just deals an insane amount of damage if you're a Titan that doesn't have shields or the like. Against Northstars and Ronins, it'll take off 1/3rd of their health. Giving the ability to discharge a second Power Shot quickly just feels so...dirty.

Exact Titan Balancing Numbers: Salvo Core (Tone) does 20 less dmg per rocket. Flight Core (Northstar) does 50 more dmg and finishes 2 seconds shorter. Predator Cannon (Legion) 8-10 less dmg per round.

I still like Angel city a lot but one thing I don't love about going back to it is how hard it is to get on top of some of the buildings. The jumps can be a little annoying because they need to be executed perfectly.

Hello Frothy. First let me say that I love your vids. Your opinions and informative vids have been really well done and they have helped me to form my own opinions on the different titans in the game. So here's my opinion on the new kits that have come out. I think Respawn has done a really good job on the different kits. The reason being that though some have been better than others (the meta) every Titan has a kit that allows it to be played in a different way. Hence my opinion on Tone's new Burts fire kit. I believe you did not touch on the reason behind the Burts fire kit. Can we agree that Tone is a right clicker? Tone needs to hit you with the 40mm cannon in order to do damage. Best way to get that 40mm is to maintain line of sight. This line of sight produces "exposed time". This is time that you can hit the enemy but can be hit by the enemy as well. Best way to mitigate that exposed time is Particle Wall. Hence the meta of Enhanced Particle Wall kit which let's you stay exposed hitting the enemy while not getting hit. Now we come to my point. I'm not saying Burst Fire is better than Enhanced Particle Wall. What I'm saying is Burts fire gives you a different style of play with Tone. Now with Burst fire Tone becomes a Corner Warrior so to speak. She becomes like Northstar and Ion. Able to reduce the exposed time by popping out of the corner bursting the lock on and getting back. Essentially what the kit does is reduce your dependence on cooldowns by giving you a different way of fighting with Tone. Is it better than? That is a different opinion. But it's purpose is what I think you glossed over in your review of it. Basically eliminating that exposed time. Changing the way Tone can be used. :) On a side note I would love to see a video of yours using and comparing the different kits of the titans. Take Ion for example. You can use Ion as a corner warrior relying on Laser Shot and rifle with entangled energy. Staying at range. Minimizing the exposed time. But you can also move Ion to the front lines with enhanced Vortex. Your in the enemies face, they shot at you and you return the damage. These are different styles of play and with the new kits every Titan now seems to have that capability. I'd love to see a video from you using those different kits and playing in those different styles and of course stating your opinions on those kits and those styles.

I'm not sure if anything could be done to completely balance tone. The 40mm cannon is the key advantage with tone, it was deadly in TF1 and still is in TF2. Couple that with the shield and tone can be OP with an above average player.

So I played with the R-97 pre-patch for quite a while (Gen 11 now). I liked it then, but now it just feels god like. I wouldn't go as far to say that its usual BTK has been reduced from 5 to 4, but I can take a guess that its headshot BTK of 5 (1 headshot and 4 body shots) have been reduced to 4 (1 headshot 3 body shots). I have no numbers on this tho, its just that the R-97 kills a lot faster now.

I like they way Respawn is giving out patch info. They intentionally dont give exact stats on certain things because they don't want people to see (for example) "Tone shield weakened in patch" then bitch and cry his shield is too weak now. This way people can *just play the game and give honest feedback based on gameplay* NOT based on what they read.

They should consider patching sniper rifles. It's not fair how much harder it is to use them honestly. I'm primarily a sniper and for the second game in a row we get shafted.

Just use the devotion, single tap the trigger and it feels like the DMR from TF1, then hold it down to spray death everywhere. Sniper Rifles barely had a place in TF1 and they have no place in TF2, everything else is just too good.

That's the point I'm trying to make. And then you prove it even further by saying use an LMG like a DMR. The snipers suck and the DMRs aren't very good either besides the G2. I'm a sniper in most games and it's not fun shooting a freakin cannon ball out of the kraber when an smg or pistol can get a bullet to me faster from the same range.

Tone has a reduced salvo core time, her 40mm rounds have more travel time and splash damage has a reduced chance of resulting in a mark for the tracking rockets. you're welcome.

I think tone needs a ROF nerf to the 40mm cannon. This would give pilots more time to maneuver and escape her shots, and would slow down the overall DPS and how quickly she can use her rocket salvo.

Could you consider checking out the R-97? I know you've said that it's in the garbage tier, and in this video you've said you're not sure how good the buff is because you don't particularly use the gun, but... I can't be the only one to think that it's a beast of a weapon.

the titan customization packs are really over priced. $4 per titan is ridiculous when there's only 6 items per pack and over half of the items get used on multiple titans. the camo pack and callsign pack seem decently priced for what is there though. not sure about the cost of the prime titans since I bought the deluxe edition. does seem weird though that they only released 2 prime titans and i'm really pretty pissed about the nerf to cloak. it's now basically useless

I must say, this probably sounds a bit weird but I am glad I play on the PS4. Watching you do this "crouch-hopping" I think it's called or whatever, just scooting and sliding all over the pace at 60mph.. I doubt I could really do that, and I never really see anyone doing that on consoles. I wasn't ever into surfing or other things since I didn't play TF2, CS or Quake to any such degrees, so yeah.. :D

Yea but learning it will get you double the amount of kills you currently do. Because you can get to the action quicker. I found on tf1 that my stats said i spent about 50% of my time as a pilot in the air. Avoid the floor, use the walls.

Ribe's Shtpost probably not worth trying to out dps a legion since with the vortex shield you are saving your own health too. And I believe the splitter rifle doesn't have a damage drop off but you probably won't be hitting all 5 shots on a titan long range

I think cloak should only break when firing your primary and not an Anti Titan weapon. It was overtuned against pilots but now it is simply inferior to Stim and Phase Shift when fighting Titans.

If you used Stim in TF1 like me, while it *did* boost momentum, it was far more effective at cheesing your way out of death when you started to get shot. Red screen starts to appear, pop your magic happy juice, you'll live more often than not.. In TF2, not only is it *better* than Phase Shift because the netcode is more responsive, but it also gives you a HUGE boost in momentum, which can even be kept well after Stim's duration is over, provided you can Bhop correctly. It's a mover's ability.

WarmSoftKitty I use A-Wall with the Devotion Increased fire rate of a LMG as long as I hold the trigger and blocking enemy fire. Its awesome Phase shift can be useful. Ive had good players use it against me before I reload or flank me someway

What is the time difference for prime and default titan terminations? It matters to me because the speed of the termination determines how long you are invincible and how much time you're giving for the enemy to get to your position and set up. Its probably very minor but to me effects gameplay.

From what I've seen, the amount of players has actually gone way up in my area. Used to be high 2000's on a good day and now I see close to 4000 every night.

Is the Ricochet attachment good or something? I've never used it but figured its worthless since it requires you to miss your shot for it to bounce off of something.

Quick question Frothy. I know you have said before your mouse settings are 600 DPI and you use 2.7 for sensitivity. Since the ADS sensitivity sliders came out with this patch are you going to tweak those? If so, what would your settings be?

+Hyperion514 I changed my ADS sensitivity to 2.8. I only felt I needed a very small boost and that's done wonders for me

Do you think its worth it to buy weapons with the in game money before you unlock them or wait to unlock them instead when you reach the unlock level? What do you generally save those coins for?
