SPOILER ALERT My theory is that the reason why there isn't a vanguard class Titan in multiplayer because in the mission where the SRS are sent out to catch the Ark before it boards the Derconis Shara sends out at least 6 vanguard class titans and before you start your pilot training at the beginning of the game you can see 3 vanguard class titans and in the mission the fold weapon Sarah says we have ONE LAST vanguard in the racks all the 9 vanguard class titans we saw in the previous missions are probably destroyed but ONE last vanguard in the racks that means after it was ready for titanfall that was the only vanguard class titans left and sense Titanfall 2s campaign is in the past and multiplayer is in the future that's why there's no vanguard class titans in multiplayer

Alright, sorry if this sounds rude but I think I have to remind some people (not just you) that in the credits scene a bunch of MARVN units is re-building a new vanguard titan wich takes place after the campaign's ending. Cooper says "Commander Briggs says I'll be inducted into the Marauder Corps and assigned a new Titan..." and "I don't know what that'll feel like... to be assigned a new Titan... I kind of like the old one." This tells us that there are more vanguard titans, just that when you get promoted to the SRS you'll be assigned a vanguard of your own. And now when the Militia has control over more than 1/4 of the frontier it's very likely that they would have the resources to build a new vanguard titan. But I like your motivation! :)

Us in the multiplayer are mercenaries, deemed expendable by our employers and thus given expendable equipment. Our titans are made cheaper by not using shield generators, using low grade materials and only able to equip one weapon/loadout. This is why you can't pick up other titans weapons like you could in the original game. And this is why boss titans have shields and high health, they are premium grade variants of our standard variants. The main difference between the Vanguard and other titans is probably that vanguards are actual AI. This is why Jack needs to link to BT and us in the multiplayer can burn through 2-4 titans in a single battle, our titans doesn't require that due to their simpler programming.

think about it, if a vanguard was in multiplayer it wouldn't work for a few reasons. 1. Batteries are on the side, impossible to Rodeo 2. Speed of a Ronin, But strength of a Legion or Scorch.

The Vanguard was specifically designed for use by the SRS, and are very rare as stated by Kane in his intro. They're expensive and are only going to be given to Marauder Corps pilots, probably only the best of them too. Basically, we are mercenaries in TF2 and aren't given the good toys.

Yeah. Also, in the chapter "Blood and Rust" there is a brief period where you can hear Kane and an IMC grunt speaking on a radio. This grunt states that there is a Vanguard Class Titan [BT-7274] moving through the facility, and that he thinks it's SRS. Kane responds with "You think it's SRS? All Vanguards are SRS, you idiot!". He states that ALL Vanguards are SRS specifically, rather than Vanguards being Milita.

+R4_F The problem is that they likely never had any way of finding out who Jack actually was (He isn't going to transmit that around) . I don't believe he made any contact with anybody other than BT. Although he is wanted for espionage (I think) rather than completely demolishing the IMC's plans.

so I replayed titanfall2's campangin... anyways in one of the first missions before the first bossfight an imc soldier says there is a vanguard class titan probably srs on the way to kane. kane then responds with :all vanguard titans are from the srs idiot! witch means only srs pilots "own" a vanguard class. so multiplayer pilots dont have vanguards because they arent part of the srs sry for the bad english,im from germany ;)

titans aren't programed for picking up a load out the other six titans made by Hammond robotics were specially made to weld their load out. even though it is completely possible for them to pick something else up. this is why you can see a Northstar weld a quad rocket in the campaign now a vanguard titan wasn't created to really excel with a certain weapon the militia had to steal most of their titan equipment so it only makes sense to create a titan that would be able to use whatever you managed to get your hands on. a tone can pick up and use a rail gun but it would never do so because it wasn't created to handle that weapon and it wouldn't be able to function at full capacity any titan can weld any weapon they don't have to be programed it's just a matter of what you titan is more effective with that makes the difference.

Theory: The Vanguard class needs 3 titan batteries in a specially designed slot under the left arm to operate at full capacity where as a regular titan of the Ogre, Stryder, and Atlas chassis with the variations in Titanfall 2 being Ion, Tone, scorch and so on, having only ONE battery on top of titan for easy access for repair and removal. So one Vanguard costs as much as 3 regular Titans for battery costs. Plus IMC has basically had a monopoly in the giant robot building business for 10, 20, 30 plus year so they had a lot longer to expand and spread their titans to ALOT of planets and types of industries such agriculture, construction, manufacturing and of course, Military. So even if the Militia took over the ONE hammond robotics facility at the of Titanfall 1, they still need more time to make more Vanguard class titans that there is decades or evens generations of people using the same 3 chasis that the frontier worlds used. Also, the AI in the Vanguard class titans as BT 7274 is much more advanced than the regular titans because he a vocal personality with the ability to adjust for social cues like the thumbs up being adapted into his memory, commenting that Captain Tai Lastimosa was a good friend after he had died, and calling Jack Cooper by his first or last name when in times of distress and relief. Unlike other titans which can interact with people but never have a vocal opinions of situations and feelings of any particular individuals. The Vanguards also have to be maintained and repaired in other locations around the frontier worlds which is hard because like a new and completely different model car, you have to have people who know or at least have some working knowledge of the Titan hardware and software with the right tools and specialty parts that are ONLY made for it to complete the repairs and maintenance at the right location which isn't easy because it is a giant Mech sure, but its also a very different chassis with Specifications on operations and service of hardware that came out like 3 to 4 years ago versus the decades and/or generations that the titans were already found throughout human colonies. Anyway, that is my theory from an engineer's and pragmatic standpoint.

One thing you forgot is that you hear commander Briggs says that she "Hired the right pilot". So we are hired pilots in the multi player, where as Jack Cooper is a riflemen that signed up in the militia forces that became a pilot on the field. So only militia pilots get Vanguard titans. This is also why you cant get brute and expedition in the multi player, because they are IMC titans only. Or they where just too weak. Hope you enjoyed my input! :)

The Vanguard titans ARE only for the elite SRS (currently, I'd assume due to limited availability since they're brand new) and they tell you as much during the campaign. I forget when exactly, but in one of the early missions before the Apex Predators know who you are but I think after you've intercepted their radio, you often overhear them talking about how you're making a lot of trouble for them. At one point one of them says something to the effect of "A Vanguard titan? I wonder if he's SRS?" to which another replies something along the lines of "Of course, all Vanguards are SRS!".

Kedolan they arnt just for the elite. thats not.it at they reserve them for the elite. yes. but the militia only does it because Titans are very expensive for them to produce unlike the imc who can pump out titans very easily. the militia has to steal alot of their titan tech so you would want people burning through them like butter and thats kinda why alot of Militia pilots just choose to not have one because the burden. Lastimosa told cooper to look after BT when obviously BT would be teaching cooper. when you think about it that way. its probably one of the reason he said that

So I believe in the multiplayer of titanfall 2 all of the pilots, your team and the enemy team are all mercenaries and the faction system that you pick is technically the group that hired you to take part in the mission. And if you're just a mercenary in the multiplayer and not technically linked to a specific faction ie. the miltia then why would you have a vanguard Titan since you're just a hired pilot and not one of their own pilots.

In the campaign, there is a voice line in the final mission when you call in your titan along the lines of "This is our last one" hinting that at the time, the Militia only had 2 Vanguard Class Titans, both of which died(?) to save you.

It's stated in the campaign that only the SRS have vanguards, and it's heavily implied the the SRS are the best of the Militia's pilots It's stated by Kane that all vanguards are SRS, in response to an IMC grunt calling in, saying "I think it's SRS", to which Kane replies with "All vanguard titans are SRS" (I may be off with wording but idr exactly) Seeing as, in the multiplayer, you are more likely to be a mercenary or a lower ranking pilot, you're almost definitely not SRS. Also only the militia have access to the vanguard so it wouldn't make sense for, say, an Apex predator pilot to have the option of a vanguard

4:14 makes sense because in the start of the mission of "blood and rust" you help 2 other militia Titans named LT. Freeborn and LT. Shaver. They both use tone Titans. Which makes them average pilots that do not have vanguards. You have to be an elite pilot, like lastimoa to have a vanguard.

I got a connection in the first game and this game. SPOILER ALERT so the guy you play as in the simulation in the campaign in TF1 is jack cooper. the reason I know this because the arm color is the same as when the first time you play in TF2. And jack cooper went to typhon while the simulation is on. then he introduces cooper to BT-72-74 when you call down your titan and if you notice on the mission The Fold Weapon you call down a titan and its FS the one you called down in the pilots gauntlet so you got a vanguard class titan too like the whole crew. So I think they thought cooper would be a good pilot and the pilots in multiplayer. the militia don't think you will do good so no vanguard titan. Besides you die every second unlike the SRS.

In the intro mission, before reactivating BT, you can eavesdrop on some IMC grunts talking to each other as they stand over and ogle BT. One of them says to the other something to the effect of "Oh, hey, look! This is a Vanguard-class Titan! These things are RARE! We should sell it!" In other words, Vanguards, given their unique capabilities and the comparatively limited resources of the Militia (when compared to the IMC), are very difficult to produce and are therefore extremely rare, even within the Militia. So, it stands to reason you won't see too many of these in your average skirmishes. This dovetails with your theory that only the best of the Militias best will be assigned one of these rare Titans.

I think when push comes to shove,the vanguard-class titan is the multitool of the Militia's arsenal of titans. Considering BT's abilities to fight in numerous styles (such as CQB and sniping) seems to support the idea that titans are limited to what they're programmed to think, as none of the other titans were able to emulate another chassis' combat techniques like so. This may also be due to the advanced intelligence vanguard-class titans seem to possess,as our titans in MP in TF1 and TF2 were only able to accomplish menial tasks without pilot assistance (which may just be another counter to the IMC's reaper units,requiring smart tactics to stop such overwhelming numbers and firepower). As for why the vanguard titan isn't in MP? Simply because it is of a higher quality than any other chassis. Having three batteries (more shielding),two missile pod batteries,and a hyper intelligent AI sways the edge greatly in the favor of the vanguard. Also,almost all the MP titans when rodeoed have their batteries located on the top of the titan (obviously for gameplay reasons). Since the vanguard has three compared to a normal chassis' one (And their position under the left armpit), it wouldn't follow the rodeo gameplay formula (also,three batteries gives it a lore edge,having more power reserve to call upon when needed). one thing i think is worth pointing out is that when you pick up the tone gun from the titan corpse BT does say something along the lines of "this weapon has advanced tracking rocket technology and may give us an edge in combat" also the pilots helmets to have an opscan feature that maybe linked to the titans opticals when embarked meaning that you could have scanned it or the titan corpse when you pick it up to learn how to use it

Something to remember, the ark area where you time travel, the ark is still intact when your in multiplayer, but in single player its almost destroyed, it could be that the story is intertwining with multiplayer, cause ash is still alive when you are in a faction with her in multiplayer

I don't think the biggest factor is a database in the titan. I think since a titan is artificial intelligence it might scan the weapon and class of the titan and calculate the best way to use them. And also I think you should do a video on the neural link and how the pilot learns through the titans database and how the titan learns through the pilots mind. Because I mean the only reason why Jack Cooper learns to use all the different titan classes is through the neural link with BT and BT knowing how to use all the different classes and transferring that knowledge to Jack via Neural link

I would love to see in Titanfall 3 (if they ever make it) that almost all enlisted militia pilots have vanguards or perhaps that the militia finds a way to put vanguard class AI into normal Titans and then from there in the multiplayer all titans become much smarter and maybe even have a few tens of lines dedicated to talking about a situation (say you hop out and grab a flag and it starts giving you advice or if you managed to get a core really fast it would joke about it or something like that). My reasoning behind this is that whenever a faction leader on the militia side says that I am doing really well I am just like "give me my vanguard now please".

expedition and brute, are both unique loadouts to the vanguard unit. with multiplayer focusing so far, only on hammond made titan models. i can see them adding the vanguard unit as a dlc later that resembles that of black jack from black ops 3. where it starts off with its expedition kit, but as you kill other titans, adopt there abilities to a certain degree. (like megaman) this feels like it would be the only way it would work similar to the campaign without being overpowered in terms of balance. since the core ability from campaign is similar to legions smart core but with increased damage over the default rate, this seems rather boring and also hard to recognize when its happening unless your the receiver of the damage. In terms of titan core abilities, all titans have a base core ability that can be altered with core load out options before deployment. .i would suggest that the vanguard titan could adopt a one time use of a enemies core but with only its base functions. i could go on. as for the brute loadout, that leaves open a option for an additional titan we either have not seen yet, or a return of a previous model such as the atlas or stryder variants. in which case they will be forced to use the quad rocket and etc. then again similar to call of duty games, the campaign may just simply hold features the multiplayer meta will never see, as the very fact you have to be a SRS pilot to be issued a vanguard unit would not only detract from all models being hammond made in multiplayer, but also reduce the special nature of the vanguard unit being limited to select people.

Expedition were actually vanguard titans, and Monarch seems to be failed reverse ingeneired Expedition. Make note that current MP titans are all based on IMC designs - Ogre, Atlas and Stryder. Monarch is a Vanguard class, which is full Militia design, a fourth base chesis. Brute on the other hand resemble both Northstar and Ronins in the campaigne, and I am assuming they will be a third Stryder chasis tytan added on a later notice with a rocket launcher.

What about the fact that titans in the first game could wield all the different weapons in the game? Each of those were optimized to use pretty much any weapon they were fitted with. The Stryder, Atlas, and Ogre.

Correction: The Vanguard class can take the Expedition loadout, not the Exposition as in the video Theory: The Expedition loadout was probably developed for the Vanguard class by the SRS, because it is the first kit we get when Jack Cooper enters BT-7274, and it is seen no where else. It also shares features of other loadouts, which would make sense if it was developed by people who had been stealing designs from the IMC. Interesting note: Because we know that Monarch was developed from BT-7274’s two chassis left on Typhon, it makes sense that Monarch’s XO-16 is similar to the Expedition’s main weapon.

I think the reason that multiplayer pilots don't have a vanguard class titan is because in the mission when BTs chasis gets destroyed Sarah says that they luckily have one more vanguard titan in the ranks which also gets destroyed in the last mission when you launch yourself into the fold weapon and since Sarah said that was the last one they probably stopped producing them and since they are all destroyed now they have no backup data to make anymore so they can't mass produce them like the other titan classes. Just a thought though🤔

+Tristan Jenkins also, vanguard class would be a mandatory pick because some people are just lazy and don't want to rodeo titans to get battery's /shields. People want a self regenerating shield and don't want to have to work for it. It also would be the ONLY TITAN IN THE GAME because it is all the titan load outs and an atlas like chassis in one titan. Probably everyone who mained a titan would pick vanguard and probably pick Tone, Legion, or Ronin.

Ever heard of game balance? Because a titan that has a regenerating shield and all the loadouts would screw it. And even removing the shield, putting health in line with a medium chassis, and only giving it the expedition loadout would just make it obsolete. The chaingun has too much spread to really be useful like it was in the first game, the missiles would be fine if it was like Titanfall 1, and copy-pasting the vortex shield would be disappointing if it was a high-level unlock.

BTs obviously alive Just before BT throws you out of him, you can see "Uploading" in your HUD, its BT uploading himself to your helmet, since BT is just an A.I and can always be re-outfitted also, BT said to trust him before throwing you, it worked out 100% every other time you trusted him, so he had a plan.

the two pilots and titans that resemble the ogre chassis are the cloak, A- wall, Scorch, and Legion. the Phase shift and Stim go with Ronin and Northstar, or the Stryder chassis. The Grapple and the Sonar Puls go with Ion and Tone, or the Atlas chassis. However there are 7 pilots and 6 titans. Vanguard goes with Hollow Pilot Nova. It makes sense to put the Vanguard class titan in multiplayer with the expadition load out.

The reason that the Vanguard Titans are not seen in multiplayer is because they were in very limited supply (they only had one remaining chassis to replace BT.) and only the best of the Militia pilots would be given access to them. In multiplayer you are a merc/freelance pilot and as such you fight with which ever faction you ally yourself with and can switch between them at will. Remember all the Apex Predators except Blisk were killed so he is clearly looking for new members. As such it makes sense to be a sort of Apex Predator Prospect in multiplayer. The IMC uses contracted pilots as can be seen with them using the Apex Predators so them contracting you in makes sense if you fight for them. Same goes for Hammond Robotics with the core copy of Ash as your commander. The Militia isnt too picky with who it sends down into battle, which is probably why you would start your career fighting for them. Lore wise it makes perfect sense for Merc/Freelance pilots to not have access to low supply cutting edge Militia Titans when only a handfull of them exist. Note also how much importance is placed on BT when enemy pilots see it or are told of it. The very first mission even has some grunts talk about how rare Vanguards are and that they can be sold for a fortune.

In my opinion, the Vanguard-class was made for spec-ops with the best pilots. It was designed to be as resourceful as possible, capable of using enemy equipment, such as their armaments or batteries (the Monarch also uses this, only for minor adjustments). It also has better AI than others, to help pilot and adapt quickly. But it is expensive and complicated (needing 3 batteries instead of 1, for example), so it isn't widely deployed.

some militia pilots in the campaign had Tone titan chassis, note the Kane boss fight where you can see a fallen titan. Also most titan bodies are Ions which would mean those are common titan choices, the better you are the more expensive titans you could have. eventually most or all titans are as common or rare now in the multiplayer.

My theory is that both Titanfall games take place in the same time. Titanfall1 since there's only multiplayer that it is a training simulator to train low scale pilots to become better and join the ranks of the IMC as higher class pilots in Titanfall 2. And Every grunt and specter are all computer AI that is calculating your kills per training match. and who ever gets the best k/d gets promoted into the ranks in Titanfall 2

One of these says that we are lucky to be in a vanguard class titan or else we would already be dead. Or something of the sort. I'm not sure if the audio always appears though. What I've been thinking about is why only vangaurd class titans get the SERE kit and the ogre, atlas and strider class titans don't, maybe since the lower class ones are assigned to the lower class pilots (multiplayer ones) the militia thinks the higher class pilots have a better chance of surviving so that why they assign vangaurd class titans to them with a SERE kit, but that's just my theory

another thing to support this: just before the kane boss fight, a grunt says to kane "we have a vanguard class titan. I think he is srs" and then kane says "all vanguard class titans are srs". Your pilot in the game probably isn't srs, obviously, meaning you don't have a vanguard class titan.

My guess is just that creating what is essentially the Omni-tool version of a Titan equipped with a highly advanced AI would be flat out expensive to create, hence the lack of vanguard Titans in multiplayer. Using an advanced AI capable of performing better at doing each individual job of 8 AI possibly might cause some sort of sensory overload to normal Titan chassis. Maybe they need to build specialized chassis able to handle running a special AI like BT, and also be able to effectively handle each Titans weapon, and more importantly, simulate their core. Notice how BT can fire off salvo core, laser core, flame core, flight core. Sword core, and smart core with the same chassis, as well as using each Titans other abilities like northstar's flight or use the lock on rockets from brute and expedition. That's a ton of firepower for one chassis. There's also the possibility that with the consideration of grunt pilots, not only would it be a waste to put a vanguard class Titan in the hands of an inexperienced pilot, it could possibly be dangerous if they allowed themselves to be captured. It's clear throughout the story that vanguard Titans are seen as valuable by the enemy, and if they got hold of one through an inexperienced pilot letting themselves get captured, the SRS would lose a significant advantage against the IMC

In the multiplayer, we play as pilot mercenaries, we don't work for the IMC or Militia. The Vanguard titan is only for the SRS division of the Militia. That's why there is no Vanguards in Multiplayer.

it didn't take a master to use a vanguard titan and if anything the titan probably cost the Militia a lot so they are real careful with whom they give them to further more the vanguard class titan is probably really flawed and not perfected you can note this to how in titan fall 2 campaign some militia pilot still prefer the imc titans mainly tone and you can almost say they modeled vanguard class after tone. if you look at the similarities

The reason why I think a master only could use it is because they have to get use to all the titan weapons and have to have a specific neural link to use a vanguard class titan because the titan can pull out different loadouts, plus managing the self regenerating shield.

Nice video! The theory was good and the visual layout was great. The one thing i had dificulities with is that i had a hard time hearing what you are saying. I actually put on the subtitles to have an easier time (though it may have had simmilar problems) xD. If you would make sure that every word you say would be loud and clear, then i think you could gain all the subs. And i hope you do, cause everything else was really solid.
