I just realized why she said "I'll never let go" at the end before she was rescued. It was a referance to this scene. She wanted him to know she wont throw the life away that he's given her. And she didn't. So beautiful!

The reason why Rose wanted to jump was because she was trapped and she didn't want to get married and she wanted to live her life on her terms and Jack comes along and talks her out of it and I loved the red dress she wore and this was also an important part b/c when the jump was sinking that's where they first met! I always loved Titanic! I am glad that Rose didn't jump and she realizes that Jack is the center of her whole universe and she finally chose Jack over Cal because she finally saw Cal for what he really was, when he told her its a pity about that painting would have been worth by morning! Then you see the light in Rose and she realizes it! Cal Hockley shot himself and Ruth went broke .. justice served. Rose went on with her life despite of everything and it was a life well lived. Rose was a strong willed woman and she proved it too!

It probably would, a lot of jumpers think the fall will immediately kill them. Sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes their legs and arms break and they drown unable to save themselves. Freezing would add to that discomfort. No one wants to die a painful horrific death, even if they’re suicidal.

Rose was trying to jump off the ship in her attempt to commit suicide. She was fortunate that Jack stopped her when he did. Jack knew how cold the water was and that Rose would die from hypothermia. He was taking off his boots and jacket in preparations just in case she attempts it.
