This is great. Even though "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" and "Starship Troopers" have AMAZING visual effects, I'm glad that "Titanic" won. If they had five nominees as they do now, I would've also added "Men in Black" and "The Fifth Element" to the list.

Spawn's special effects were, though ambitious, not real impressive.

I'd probably replace Spawn with Dante's Peak. That film's effects hold up incredibly well. And I would add The Fifth Element to the nominee list as well.

I think Titanic had the weakest effects of the three nominees. Some shots look like something straight out of early Sims games. Meanwhile TLW perfected already great CGI and animatronics from the previous movie and Starship Troopers had maybe the best CGI up until that point.
