This is a 3 hour movie but the editing takes you to the inside track of Titanic and sinking of the ship. You really feel the scope of the moment and the what happens from beginning to the end. I was on the edge of my seat. I would like to see what was edited out of the film.

I know! in the beginning they promise to stop talking when Billy Crystal and everyone else is talking. I can remember the year but when Denmark won for election night, one of the uses the F-word danish way during the noms

I’m a bit puzzled as to why Air Force One is nominated here. It was well-made and well-edited but really one of the five best achievements in editing??? How about the awesome excitement of Face/Off? That would have been a better choice. Even Arthur Schmidt’s brilliant work on the very underrated Contact, I would have preferred.

It's funny, I think Airforce One is a terrible film, shocked to see it nominated for anything. And yes to Contact, I adore that movie.

Agreed, strange category. There are several films that would've been better nominees than Air Force One, including Jackie Brown and Boogie Nights. Also, how did L.A. Confidential not win???

Yes they did. I think Madonna when opening the envelope, in her presentation, said “what a surprise Titanic” a poke at it won almost everything. Which what the TV2 Denmark poked fun at with, it keeps getting 12points

Terrible win. Here after Bohemian Rhapsody wins in the same category. I haven't seen the other nominees, but I imagine they have much better editing. Also, this movie is extremely long.

best editing is not given to the one who manages to keep the movie short. That is a director's decisions. Editing means cutting and joining the scenes together in such a way that makes good scenes all together. There were many moments of amazing cuts in Titanic.

@Skywalker Hunter exactly retarded people who judge a film when they dont even know what film editing is or they havent even seen the other films to make their point. Even if titanic is a cheesy film or too long that's nothing to do with editing, thats to do with screenplay
