I’d like to see an “if only” of Titanic striking the iceberg head on at full speed. Some say it would mostly cause a huge mess, others believe inertia would have destroyed structure and killed/maimed hundreds.

@@majortwitit would certainly have killed hundreds, as the stokers and trimmers quarters were in the forward two compartments, which would be destroyed by a head on collision.

The front of the ship is stronger compared to its side if the iceberg hit the front the steel will bend instead of breaking it open or tearing a hole. I gotta ask, James. Does your appreciation for Titanic unnerve any of your crewmates on your cruise ship? I mean how do your crewmates react to your Titanic interests? I've had some people who work(ed) on cruise ships and other ships give me the stink eye whenever I brought up Titanic. Some have called it akin to tempting fate while at the same time, others I've known have dismissed it as superstition (invoking Titanic while working on a ship that is).

Nobody has a negative reaction at all. In fact whenever we are in a heavy storm, I'm the one people go to to make sure there's nothing to panic about.

Okay, you're sold me. I love it! Amazing graphics, and I'm so impressed with the audio too! I'd like to enquire about booking my trip from Queenstown to New York, and I'm looking forward to going on your luxurious Titanic ship. I was looking for a nice suite for about $100, but understand that I could only get a 2nd Class ticket for around $65 or so. The price is a bit steep for me for a $400 ticket, what with it being half a year's salary, but if I'm to for a voyage to the new world, I should probably make it a trip of a lifetime! But, I'm confused. If I book a 1st class ticket, do you have some sort of information on the different cabin suites for me so I can find one I might really like, and yet can still fit what I can afford? I want to make my trip to New York memorable for a lifetime!!

Can you imagine how this all will be once it's possible to add thousands of NPCs? Then the next level of making them all unique characters. Then as historically accurate as possible for each known passenger and crew. Then being able to recreate the entire voyage with each historically accurate soul onboard going through a simulation of their actions during the trip. The future has so much to give us. The next generation of this type of experience will be mind blowing

Might the secret collab be with James Cameron? That would be superb. Hope you liked my anaglyphic 3D images of the various areas in the ship that I posted in Discord. Everyone there seemed to enjoy them. Love the ship build and can't wait to see interactive elements be added in and gameplay scenarios. As a walking simulator, the whole ship is gorgeous and love every bit of it, but NPCs going about their imitative lives on the vessel would be fantastic, or is that going to be specific to "Honor and Glory"?

James Cameron doesn’t have any titanic projects, he’s got another 2 years to wrap up avatar. After that I suspect he’ll go back to enjoying New Zealand again for a while, he lives not too far from me

@@ytzpilot Didn't say he did, just that he spent many years exploring and documentary the wreck, so his involvement would be useful.

@@Phaota he moved here to New Zealand around 2014 to do the next two Avatar films and that has been the majority of his focus other then a couple of National Geographic specials on the Titanic and speaking to the media briefly about the Titan Sub, a project like Avatar has 110% of his focus, then like I’ve said when Avatar is done I predict some downtime like he has in the past. Not sure why he’d want to do anymore Titanic projects he’s probably done enough, but that is entirely up to him. As for a collaboration with this projection I would doubt it since Avatar 3 is still in post production for another 2 years

A polite request to please use real musicians for the final release :) A great job is being done researching and recreating the period-specific music here, and arranging the delicate articulation and dynamics of this very exposed sound of the ship's band - but string instruments just never, ever sound realistic using VSTs, no matter how much care and attention is given them. It would serve the memory of Titanic's brave musicians best to have her music played by real string players, in as historically accurate a way as possible. It would truly help to bring the ship to life, as she appears in P401/H&G. All of that said, stellar work on the sound design so far! And the project as a whole is truly impressive and exciting.
