@@erpfanatic6586many people including myself think that that does a disservice to the legacy of the people aboard Titanic, the people who built and served on titanic, and recovering those artifacts while we still can will allow future generations to see her legacy and her craftsmanship. I hope they recover as many artifacts as they can while there is still time. A few exceptions in my opinion should be the shoes of course and anything that is directly attached to the ship. I know many people disagree with this and I understand, I used to feel that way myself, but in my opinion it is the best way to preserve the legacies of, not only those who were lost on Titanic, but an entire industry dedicated to the service and the craftsmanship of a magnificent bygone era.

I'm looking forward to this! Also fancying a bit of Titanic-era writing style, so here goes! It was a great pleasure to read of Mr Penca's consultation for the BBC article, the other day, on Titanic's railing having collapsed since the last visit - although I must say I was perhaps a bit more surprised than I ought to have been, to see the photograph showing the huge gap where it had once been. These things bring home the fact that she is going, I feel; something it can be all too easy to forget, as we adventure through time, to a happier time, when she lived. I thought she had a heavy list to starboard in the 2024 photo, compared with that from 2010 when she appeared upright, although that might have just been the photo being taken at a different angle. Reading the article, examining the photos, I felt a sudden twinge of grief. Her beauty remains just about perceptible, but the dark has overcome. I have never felt more keenly the fact that she is a grave. That is why I, like Mr Penca and a great many others, feel it is of paramount importance to recover whatever can be recovered - so that even when her skeleton is all that remains of her earthly existence, her name, and those of all who sail eternally with her, may truly live forever.

@GregorSamsa-f3m I nvr heard a more ridiculous statement in my life! These objects should be gathered up specifically to remember the lost lives. Preserve the memory in a museum for far more ppl to see and pay respects rather then buried in sand.
@kabura87424 ай бұрын
@GregorSamsa-f3m First off if it were a place that no one owns, just a tragic spot that my great great grandfather just happened to die from unfortunate circumstance then no I would still not my mind since millions of people have died in ancient cities that have been dug up and had personal artifacts put on display. It’s not like they’re going in there to directly target someone, it’s all fair game since none of it involve human remains. It is all being displayed with respect, remembrance, and education. Secondly no I don’t care if the person ends up making money from that bc it’s fair, if they’re taking the time and trouble to dig up historical artifacts then they deserve to get paid since there is a difference between grave robbing and being an archaeologist in your respective field which is a profession not a criminal act. So to answer your question, I’m still fine with it bc it’s all about the intent behind the recuperation of artifacts which is what separates it all from mere grave robbing with no laws and procedures. I would much prefer it to be remembered and displayed for as much as time permits rather then for it to be lost to the sands of time

There was probably more of the lounge intact prior to 1986 since the ship broke at the back of the room and the upper decks might have been able to support it before they started to decay. The decks are gradually pancaking from the aft where she broke and is progressing forward. Titanic’s gym was still intact in 1986 with the roof yet to cave in.

The lounge is one of my favourite spaces and it frustrated me that initially I couldn’t go in as the demo crashed but thankfully once I upgraded to a strong gaming laptop and a new and improved demo bam I walked in and it didn’t crash. 2:17 It’s the Jack and Rose panel. That’s had the internet divided for the last 27 years. On the subject of survival. 😂 also it was based on a very real piece of debris found floating in the ocean after the disaster. Which to me I find surprising that more wasn’t found since the room was smashed to bits when the ship broke up during the sinking. 3:56 I’ve always thought this was a clever design idea, to hide the vents behind the decor. 4:08 yes the fireplace. Will project 401 fix the glitch on the vases? As they seem to me to be a bit off model. With graphics lines running through them. On another note. I guess it’s no coincidence that Gio yesterday posted pictures of the lounge during the break up. Is it? (There is so much detail in this room the craftsmanship is amazing and insane.

@GregorSamsa-f3m no need to be condescending. Lol .. but thanks for your reply. Look at the blueprints; the fireplace was at the forward end of the lounge (still intact) when it hit the ocean floor *because when full of water the bow sank like a stone due to gravity!* It went NOSE DOWN .. yet the statue was out in the debris field .. hence; what FORCES PROPELLED IT out of the (intact) bow section?
