@@Local-Of-The-Mitten-State Titanic had a fire in a coal chute that started before the voyage began. The efforts to put it out resulted in the weight of the coal being disproportionate on her port side, resulting in the list. As fate would have it, the excess weight on the port side would act as a counter balance that kept the ship from capsizing during the sinking.

God, what a beautiful ship. Titanic was the epitome of elegance and beauty in ships. The design of this ship was just flawless. Each and every ship before and after Titanic had some sort of imperfection in their design, they were either too long, too tall, to bulky, to crammed, had weird aft decks etc. but Titanic's design simply was gorgeous, with no imperfections.

I personally think the Mauretania is prettier (unpopular opinion, I know). There's something about the curved bridge, the massive intakes. It has the aggression of a sports car to it. Titanic is beautiful as well, but there's just something about the big Cunarders.

@@AgentGodzillaRP1 Lol. That engine sound was barely noticeable on higher decks. It got more prominent when you descended deeper into the vessel's hull below D deck and below and around Titanic's fourth funnel where the main reciprocating engine room was located. Consequently passengers of those 3rd class cabins that were closest to the engine room were actually one of the first to be alerted that something had happened on that fateful night when engines suddenly after four days of continuous pounding went silent...

In an alternate universe where Titanic actually made it to New York with a VERY successful crossing. E.J Smith retires with full honors, Bruce Ismay's reputation isn't shattered, Thomas Andrews is beyond the moon with how everything worked so smoothly, and the crew watching with smiles and hopes for many of the passengers departing the ship for better lives. 2 Olympic class liners (with a third being built) competing with Cunard's Lusitania and Mauritania as the top ships of the Atlantic Ocean.

Truly I guess the Titanic's story will never die; there's always new awesome stuff popping up such as this but anyway here's why I think the Titanic's story will never die: (1) she was the largest movable man-made object of her day, (2) she excelled in luxury appointments, (3) it was her maiden voyage (of all voyages), (4) there were many celebrities of the day on board, (5) there was already a lot of talk about all her features before she was ever launched (including her "unsinkability"), and (6) the Titanic was the first ship in living memory to be sunk by an iceberg. Of course, let's not forget those who died. 1,500 souls is 1,500 souls.

Except the sun never set at Titanic’s stern. That would require her to be traveling east, on the return leg of the voyage.
