This is why I consider the way the final plunge in the 2012 miniseries to be the most accurate.

3:05 and 4:47, just want to say that's actually a quote from Karl Jonsson, who was washed overboard, while Carl Jansson jumped from the ship. There was some confusion about it due to Carl Jansson changing his name to Carl Johnson when he got to America, as well as Karl Jonsson being spelled incorrectly most of the time. Anyway, Jonsson was on boat B, Jansson was in boat A.

This was much scarier than any horror film, people on collapsible B managed to escape just seconds before her final plunge begin.

Awesome work! Your sinking theories have gotten better over time imo. I was also interested about Victor Sunderland’s about Lightoller saying make for the stern, it looks like she will float, and as he shouted that according to Sunderland, the stern plunged down again. So did Lightoller actually see the break up, the only one who would really know that would be himself. I am not trying to say that the break up was covered up, I do not think this is the case. There are reasons of why the break up was dismissed at the 1912 inquiries, it could be hard to figure out what happened when there are people saying one thing and other people saying another, and the people in charge of the inquires though that what if the survivors were misinterpreting what they were seeing, this is what the people in charge of the inquires had to deal with while they were interviewing the survivors, this way does make sense to me if only a few survivors said it broke in half, but when I went back to read survivor’s testimonies, so many survivors said that they saw the ship break in two, and the amount of people who said they saw the ship break in two is much more than people who said she sank intact. Another factor to why the break up was dismissed during the inquires was due to the fact the ship sank during a moonless night, which means for the people in the lifeboats, the only way to see the ship sinking was the lights on the ship and the stars in the sky, but when the lights went out it would be more difficult, due the ship being plunged to total darkness, because of this, this may of caused the people who were leading the inquires to write off what the Titanic survivors were saying about the break up, thinking that maybe they thought they saw the ship break in two due to how little light there was and based on what the ship was doing in the final moments, it is likely they just misinterpreted this as the ship breaking in two even though it really didn’t happen, but we now know that the ship did break apart as she sank. And another factor was due to other testimonies claiming to hear kid explosions, loud crashing, and more and it was able to be explained as like the boilers blowing up, or the engines and boilers falling breaking free of their foundations and crashing down to the bow, basically anything expect for the ship breaking in two. The inquires also went and picked a few key people who said they saw the ship sink intact, these people were Charles Lightoller, Herbert Pitman, and Hugh Woolner. Woolner later did say that the ship exploded and it tore a big hole on the ship’s side and it blew away the funnels but the ship did not break in two in a Wolfric video, link to it on YT: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKusq6irh9dggqM I am not sure about Lightoller as of rn due to Sunderland’s testimony, and I think Pitman did not see the break up. But the inquires decided these 3 mens testimonies completely overruled the other testimonies about the ship breaking in two. So the inquires concluded that Titanic did not break in two but the ship sank in one piece. Correct me if I am wrong, but overall awesome work and keep it up!

It is amazing how Collapsible B was upside down in the water and yet had more survivors than Collapsible A. I know Charles Lightoller was being tough on people when loading the lifeboats earlier, but at least he had calmed down after diving into the frigid water which he nearly drowned in until he let go of the webley revolver he had in his coat pocket. And on Collapsible B, he did a great job calming and organizing the frightened and shivering men who were on it with him and gave them great guidance to shift their weight with swells to keep that overturned lifeboat floating decently until other lifeboats came back for them.

1:23 So when the ship's first funnel falls, it seems that some type of gas is spenewing from the bottom, was that the unused steam before the sinking or did all of the steam (from the boilers connected to the first funnel) just spew out? (just so you know i might never reply.)
@KiwiKiwf Жыл бұрын
It is a steam-flash effect that I added, might fit on the claim of Lightoller being blasted out of the water by some force.

@KiwiKiwf Жыл бұрын
The horbury version was likely played rather than the propior deo. Most of the survivors recall it as a church hymn. Passengers would not be familiar if it was propior deo.
@billtherailfanner455 Жыл бұрын
@@KiwiKiwf I agree, I do not think it was the Propior Deo version that was played, i think it was most likely the Horbury version as another reason being is that only 2 members of the band were melodists and knew the Propior Deo version while the rest of the band was not melodists and only knew the Horbury version. If the Propior Deo version was played, it would of most likely been a solo done by Wallace Hartley or done by him with the other member of the band which was a melodist playing with him, but it would of only been 2 people that would know and play the melodist version, while the rest only know the Horbury version. And there was around 8 people in the band on the ship.

I would also rather hear from the survivors than the historians any day since the survivors were there and we weren’t. Listening to survivor testimony, especially with the Nearer My God To Thee thing is how we know what happened on that night, and one of the reasons historians try their best tell us the facts is by listening to survivor testimonies.
@billtherailfanner455 Жыл бұрын
Not saying every testimony is 100% believe able because some aren’t like how Thomas Dillion said the fourth funnel was pushed aft by the rapidly rising water, I used to believe that but I just found out that he was actually drunk, and while it is true that the 4th funnel remained standing on after the break up, it most likely did not fell as the water reached it, it most likely fell after the stern left the surface, and Dillion was the only person who saw what he saw but he was actually drunk, and other survivors said the fourth funnel stayed and they didn’t say the 4th funnel fell on the surface at all. The point is if the amount of survivor testimony completely overwhelms other testimony, then that survivor testimony is believe able imo since more people said they saw and heard this than people saying they saw and heard something else and more survivors said it was a church hymn played on the night the ship sank, which means it was most likely the Horbury version played. Since a lot of them would of not have been familiar with the Propior Deo version.
