The final moments of Harold bride “I was under the boat and the boat was upside down and I was under it then I realized that I was wet through and whatever happened I must not breathe for I was underwater I knew I had to fight for it and I did how I got out from under the boat I do not know. The ship was gradually turning on her nose just like a duck does that goes down for a dive. I only had one thing on my mind to get away from the suction The band was still playing and I guess they all went down they were playing autumn then it was very cold. I saw a boat of some kind near me and I put all my effort swim to it was hard work. Finally a hand came out and pulled aboard it was our same collapsible. Sparks and flames flew out of the funnels there must’ve been an explosion but we heard none. I suppose I was 150 feet away from the Titanic on her nose with the after part sticking straight up in the air end it began to settle slowly at last The waves washed over her Rutter there wasn’t the least bit of suction I could feel she must’ve kept going just as slowly as she had been” -Harold bride Collapsible B

@@KiwiKiwf The band was actually near the second funnel and the time the 1st funnel fell was about the late seconds of 2:14 why I believe is that after 2:13 the ship goes to an even keel the reason why I am talking about this is that the band plays nearer my god to thee from 2:12 to 2:15 or 2:14 in this timeframe I got each version of nearer my god to thee and I put sounds of people screaming running and water sounds this caused nearer my god to thee to sound a little bit like autumn

Nearer My God To Thee, and Songe D'Automne does not sound the same, we've tested it and we can still clearly differentiate the two (with and without the screaming, if it was i wouldn't have made this video), the tunes are not the same, Harold Bride recalled it right after the funnel fell! which is during the final plunge which is 2:16AM Barksworth heard the same as the ship started to plunge down!

@@KiwiKiwfActually If you can hear the beginning of autumn and nearer my God, to thee, they sound quite the same, and in Encyclopedia Titanica there was a theory where there was this person that showed that if you play Autumn with a Cello it sounds like nearer my god to thee and it caused an illusion and even though the funnel fell Harold bride would have still heard autumn while they played nearer my god to thee you see when you hear the tune of nearer my god to thee in either the proper deo version or the Bethany version, in the beginning, The lines that I am talking about are Nearer my god the tune sounds like the beginning of Autumn as well and also that the musicians played near the second funnel even though it was near the Harold bride there were as I told you more than a thousand people running and jumping into the water since it was the final plunge and it all comes down to a timeline let us say that Autumn was played first It was 6 minutes long and versions of nearer my god to thee last from 3 minutes for Horuby about 3 to 4 minutes for Bethany and 5 minutes for proper deo this for me applies with the time you can see in 2021 titanic historian real-time edition states that it happened at 2:12 am and so by figuring out the time they have stopped playing is the time the first funnel fell it would have been 2:15 or 2:16 this would mean that nearer my god to thee would have been played short or the horuby version and so in my new timeline of the sinking I believe that collapsible b was turned over at 2:12 or 2:13 since believe the final plunge starts at 2:14

Evidence of Autumn was played before Nearer my God to Thee. Evidence 1 Helen Churchill Candee she was on lifeboat 6 and in her testimony she said And over them trembled the last strains of the orchestra's message: “Autumn” first, and then “Nearer, my God, to Thee.” this gives us evidence that Autumn was played before Nearer my God to Thee. Evidence 2 the location you see during 2 am when lifeboat 2 went near the propellers. And when the bow was beginning to flood there was a large crowd until the time of 2:14. You see during that time frame there was a large crowd. The reason why there was a large crowd was that they were launching collapsible c and d and were trying to straighten the ship since the ship was listing about 9 degrees to port. It was about 2:03 when this happened. When this happened autumn was being played until 2:04 am. When this happened the band was on the starboard side near the grand staircase when this happed Harold bride heard Autumn. When the time was 2:10 people were still on the bow still straightening it and were trying to launch collapsible a and b. Evidence 3 Harold bride's testimony From aft came the tunes of the band. It was a ragtime tune, I don’t know what. Then there was “autumn.” Phillips run aft and that was the last I ever saw him alive. I went to the place I had seen a collapsible boats on the boat deck, and to my surprise, I saw the boat and the men still trying to push it off. I guess there wasn’t a sailor in the crowd. They could do it. I went up to them and was just lending a hand when a large wave came awash of the deck. Continuation of the account, They were playing “autumn” then. I swam with all my might. I suppose I was hundred and 50 feet away when the Titanic, on her nose, with her after-quarter sticking straight up in the air, began to settle - slowly. In this we would probably think that autumn was the last song. Just before this said this he said Smoke and sparks were rushing out of her funnel. There must have been an explosion, but we have heard none. We only saw the big stream of sparks. The ship was gradually turning on her nose - just like a duck does that goes down for a dive. I had only one thing on my mind - to get away from the suction. The band was still playing. I guess all of the band went down. In his testimony, he mentions sparks coming out of the ship this means he saw the 2nd funnel collapse since survivor accounts say that the funnel was on fire or sparks burst out of the funnel. He also says that the band kept on playing this means the time they stopped playing was about 2:15:45 or 2:16.

after the 1st and 2nd funnel fell this means that when they stopped water surged quickly after the 1st funnel fell this might also mean that the 1st and 2nd funnels fell at the same time. There is a problem for autumn being played last screams got louder and thicker if autumn was played during the final plunge and since the band was near the grand staircase. There would have been a giant massive crowd this would have made the music hard to hear even near the flooding bridge. The only way to might know is to have a football field as long as titanic, measure how far the length of the bow is to the bridge have a person with good hearing since bride was a wireless operator the next step is to measure the bow and the bridge to the area near the grand staircase bring about 1,500 people let them scream and run in the farther section and near the location of the grand staircase which would be the stern then get a band of violin playing Methodists and play Autumn. Titanic survivor Major Frank Prentice confirmed that the band did play Nearer, My God, to Thee as the ship foundered. Prentice was a young employee of the White Star Line at the time and was rescued from the water after dropping 100 feet from the stern of the ship in the final minutes before it sank. Eva Hart, seven at the time, was rescued along with her mother, also confirmed that the band played Nearer, My God, To Thee. She added that there were three versions and it was the version that would be played in church that was played on the Titanic. They played it in her local church one Sunday and she had to leave it in distress as the memories returned. the cacophony of screams and panic as people started entering the water with the noise of the ship nearing its end could muffle music, and with the lifeboats sailing away from the ship for safety makes it doubtful that the identification of a particular song can be determined. Indeed, some of those who entered the lifeboats, entered an hour or more before the ship sank and their memories may have been of the music playing whilst they were transferred to the lifeboats. Both Songd’Autumne and Nearer, My God, To Thee, to my untrained ears, sound very similar in the opening bars, (depending on the version), and there could be understandable confusion of the two when listened to in the context of a tragedy playing out in front of you. Harold Bride’s assertion that it was Songe d’Autumne playing as the ship went down is uncorroborated, multiple other survivors stated it was Nearer, My God, To Thee, combined with anecdotal evidence from Wallace Hartley’s friend stating that it was one of the hymns he would choose if on a sinking ship, leads the argument in Nearer, My God, To Thee’s favor. Also when Titanic's bridge was flooding then to the base of the 1st funnel the grand stair case was flooding with water and people around were screaming, running, swimming and more. This is seen in the 1997 titanic move in a scene where the band is playing nearer my god to thee the grand staircase was flooding with water and you can see people are running away from the water screaming and even after nearer my god to thee ends there are still scenes of the grand staircase. Because after the band is done playing the grand staircase was flooding until it reached the water length reached the clock then the grand staircase imploded. These scenes from the 1997 movie are actually true as the band played until water was beginning to reach the 1st funnel and the grand staircase was beginning to flood. And also not to mention the location where the band played was by the 2nd funnel near the grand staircase. And as they played 1st class passengers were screaming and running trying to get out of the grand staircase as the ship was beginning her final plunge. Screaming, running, jumping, water splashing, water flooding, last 2 collapsible trying to be launched all these sounds could have turned nearer my god to thee to autumn to people on board. Survivor Caroline Bonnell did not make the claim that she had heard the music herself but explained that those who had heard the band’s last number were in lifeboats close to Titanic. This is an interesting clue. She said, “…those that were in the lifeboats which were close to the vessel say that the orchestra played till the very last and that the men went down into the sea singing “Nearer My God to Thee.”” What she said makes sense for the survivor Helen Churchill Candee who was on lifeboat 6and on that boat was Robert Hichens and Margaret/Molly Brown also called the unsinkable Molly Brown. It was about 1:51 or maybe 1:56 am when the Captain called out to the lifeboats to return Robert Hichens said to people in the lifeboat that they are not going back to the sinking ship It's our lives, not theirs. This meant that he was able to hear the captain this makes sense now for the testimony of Helen Churchill Candee since if Hichens was able to hear the captain since they were close to the ship then Candee was able to hear the band playing Autumn and Nearer my God to Thee. Mrs. Vera (A. A.) Dick, Boat 3 Starboard, lowered at 1:00am “As the steamship went down the band was up forward and we could faintly hear the start of ‘Nearer My God to Thee.'” here is a part of Vera’s testimony in her testimony she could faintly hear the beginning of nearer my god to thee this makes sense since there was a large crowd of people running, jumping splashing, swimming and more. Carlos Hurd, the reporter who first broke the news of Nearer, My God, To Thee, said, “Several persons told of having heard this music from their boats, but, because of distracting noises, they could not be sure what the melody was. Two women, who professed familiarity with sacred music, said it was “Nearer, My God, To Thee.” The statement appeared in my report and gained general currency.” What Carlos Hurd said could be said true for Harold Bride even though Bride heard autumn he was distracted with other things like getting stuck under collapsible b, trying to get of it, swimming in the freezing water that was -2.2 degrees Celsius, and looking for Jack Phillips. This is why I believe that Nearer my God to The was the last song played by the band. Allow me to get a little technical now and describe my theory in musical terminology. The first three notes of both melodies form a descending line of intervals comprised of a major second followed by another major second. It matters not that Songe d'Autumne is in a minor key and Nearer, My God, To Thee is in a major key. The opening intervals of both melodies are identical. Beyond the first three notes, the phrases of both melodies continue on to follow a similar melodic contour. Also, the rhythm bears an uncanny similarity. While not identical, both follow a pattern of a sustained long note followed by two-quarter notes (crotchets). This makes me believe that during the sinking Bride heard Nearer my God to The however since both of the songs have some similarities. This is why I think and believe Nearer my God to Thee was the last song played on the doomed liner on April 15th, 1912. 1 Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me, still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! 2 Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down, darkness be over me, my rest a stone; yet in my dreams I'd be nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! 3 There let the way appear, steps unto heaven; all that thou sendest me, in mercy given; angels to beckon me nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! 4 Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise, out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise; so by my woes to be nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee! 5 Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky, sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly, still all my song shall be, nearer, my God, to thee; nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

It just doesn't work with both their accounts, that's why the song was barely finished, which this leads us to Barksworth testimony after seeing the band, stop playing, and finally move aft to the stern where they hang on before they died, it would be impossible for two survivors on the same boat, to hear the same tune on the final moments, on the testing on collapsible D, it would be not heard and only faint tunes can be heard, but is beyond unrecognizable, therefore leading to the conclusion, that it played, but only the people of collapsible B like Barksworth and Harold Bride, to hear the music, because of how crowded and loud the people trying to crowd the area, as they were attempting to board the last lifeboats which is collapsible D, C, A And B, this would lead us to concluding the fact that it may have played for the second time, after playing around 2:05AM, then to be followed once more by Alexander's rag time band, if Autumn was played first then nearer my God To thee, it would affect two more accounts which is Steffanson and Wolner, which both testifed hearing Alexander's Rag Time band, these two once more were near the ship, therefore leading to a chronological order that is correct that first played, Songe D'Automne, Alexander's Rag Time Band and Nearer My God To Thee, and once more Songe D' Automne. concluding: a crowd as loud as 115-140 decibels + a 77-90 decibel music band + a distance of 10-20ft = barely hearable but can be distinct, while a crowd as loud as 115-140 decibels + a 77-90 decibel music band + a distance of 100-200ft would make you barely hear the song, due to the panicking crowd, this would lead us to finally conclude, only barely half or just 2 people out of the people in Boat 2 heard this song, since they were on the Boat resting while the others like Archibald Gracie and others who was in the Boat much had more of a testimony they were helping, so out of the people who were in that Boat, only they 2 heard it, but only partially of the song was played, just enough for the 2 to hear, while the others didn't.
