I'm glad to see Everlast posting some videos, and I have 3 comments to help you sleep today: (1) It would be nice to see how the back side of those joints turned out. Yes, inspection mirrors are acceptable for this. (2) Since titanium is so reactive at temperature, did you use a gas lens and what cup size (12?) / flow rate? (3) Since that PowerTIG 210EXT has a TIG Pulse feature, you could have showcased it. I use this feature on my 255EXT to make me look like a better aluminum welder than I really am...

I second ElCajoia's comments. Have a shiny new 255EXT also and would love some pulse setting guidelines others are using.

Titanium should be pure silver color so thats not proper. No color whatsover or it doesnt pass 🤕

your welding machines are excellent, but the quality of the welding process by the welder himself is not very good

Cool vid, I bought an Everlast machine last year. I am a journeyman welder with no experience with titanium. Feel free to send me some test pieces and filler rod. Hahah. Would be great to see the root.

What did you set your purge gas at?
@notanymore94714 жыл бұрын
Everyone has a number but I’ll just say you don’t want turbulence so lower is better but you can purge higher at first clear the air out.

This is a how not to weld titanium, HAZ through the roof

I thought you needed a tracer cup to weld titanium.
@hoodznchromez41793 жыл бұрын
Need a better cup there. The more colour ti has the worse quality weld it is. D17.1 standards will tell you whats up.

The pretty colors may look cool, but they are not. This should be welded in a chamber purged with gas. The colors indicate oxygen contamination and shouldn’t be there. I can’t even tell you how many hours I’ve welded with my face against the chamber. Titanium is fickle, and needs certain parameters for a proper weld. Carry on.

I've read that welding in a chamber is the preferred method. I welded my titanium exhaust in my garage with just back purging and it has lasted 3 seasons of hard track abuse.
