I had to have a Titanium implant removed. Months after getting it in 2013 I had skin inflammation and also had to see a rhuematologist due to other issues. It took 3 years to finally get it removed. Dentists kept telling me that everything that was going on with me was unheard of and not due to titanium. I finally found an endodontist in Orange county ca who is familiar with the issues that titanium can cause and knows how to remove them. I had to pay $3000 to have it removed. I am not the only one he has helped

That is why it is better to have zirconia as another option. That is too bad. I am sorry you went through that experience.

Did your issues resolve after getting the titanium removed?
@inkpen95472 жыл бұрын
@@angelicannihilator YES! ABSOLUTELY! My nerves and joints felt instant relief. As soon as the implant was removed (while in the chair) my entire body felt brand new. I was stretching and twisting my body for hours but it felt great, like I hadn't stretched in years. My skin returned to it's full moisture and elasticity after a year. With the implant my joints were stiff and my skin was dried out and inflamed. Having it removed reversed everything. The joints responded in the exact moment the implant was removed. The skin felt relief as well but the appearance improved after a year.

Hey, i have a Titanium Implant for many years and i want to remove it cause i feel it might be the source of many health issues i have. Can you give me the contact of the dentist that you had yours removed? Do you have any other source of information about the issues of titanium implants? I am really thinking about removing it for a while now and i'm not sure because there is not so much reference out there.

Hi Doc. Is Zirconia a good option in molar implants. Sadly just had my molar 17(us) yanked and trying to educate myself with the best options to move forward. Thanks for your post and hope you have a good day!

Titanium history well researched, however its bacteria attracting properties in comparison to zirconia suggest a porcelain alternative may be a more attractive route. Your thoughts please/ thank you
@SereneOrthodontics2 жыл бұрын
I there are pros and cons to both. Titanium is strong and flexible but is a metal (can corrode). Zirconia is non metal, white, but is brittle and inflexible

Get zirconia. No metal is always best.

Hi Doctor, I just had zirconia implant. In 4 more months, i will have zirconia abutment and zirconia crown by a holistic dentist. She said she will use carbon fiber screw to screw the abutment to the implant. But she cannot use carbon fiber screw to screw the crown to abutment. She will have to use RelyX luting cement to glue the crown to abutment. I read that this cement will secrete, emit slowly fluoride in the bloodstream all the time and i know that fluoride damage the nerves and glands. Is carbon fiber safe? Is this cement safe? Can she use carbon fiber screw instead of cement? Which one is healthier? Thank you.
@SereneOrthodontics2 жыл бұрын
Ask the doc if she can use a "screw-retained crown." I wound not worry too much because the cement is under the crown and cannot leak out. But for your peace of mind a screw-retained crown may work.

Is it best to pay for a full blood test to be done and metal allergy test before deciding which one to go with? A private blood test is very expensive but seems the logical thing to do first before making a decision.

Do people have negative reactions with Titanium, and need them removed in the future? And do Zirconia break often like most dentists say?
@SereneOrthodontics4 жыл бұрын
We have not seen zirconia implants break, but they are not as strong as titanium. Anyone can have a reaction to anything later.
@SereneOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
generally No and No. I've not seen any titanium reactions and I have not seen any zirconia implants break.

there are some narrower implants available, but the titanium ones go a little smaller. Zeramex has a 3.5mm wide which is suitable for most lower incisors.

@SereneOrthodontics3 жыл бұрын
If a dentist is already proficient with doing titanium implants, the training can be completed in a long weekend with a qualified trainer. If a dentist has little or not implant experience, it can take years to get proficient.
