+tigerbread78 I never do. Then again, I've been transforming and collecting these things since the 80's, so I have plenty of experience. Though on a _rare_ occasion I'll look at the instructions, but that's only to make sure I'm doing something right as the tolerances on some moving parts aren't what they're supposed to be, and the first time I transform a figure it can feel like I'll break it if I bend it a certain way; just to find out from the instructions that it's _supposed_ to bend that way and it's just the plastic tolerances that are weird. But about 99.9% of the time I won't use the instructions.

Love the review as always. Heh if they had the Drone Tank Heads, a bunch of Megatrons would make great Blitzwing Tank Drones seen in the 3rd Season Intro. The Seeker Jetmode feels like a call back to the Unproduced Skywarp/Megatron Triple Changer Concept art. And yes also makes a good Leader-1

There was also a repaint of Voyager Classics Optimus Prime as Fire Guts Ginrai, and an SDCC exclusive translucent version of Sentinel Prime. There were also some Combiner Wars voyager repaints for Botcon.

Stavekoff takara did exactly that. they repainted it in g2 colors, but it's the purple color scheme. and they made the headmaster a version of the beast wars megatron.

Honestly I think that Thew hands down creates the best transformers reviews on KZbin. These reviews are the only ones I won't skip through because he keeps you interested with the bitchin music, actually funny puns, and just great content. One thing I found with the MIG-29 mode is that you can easily remove the tracks from under the wing since it uses mushroom pegs and the turret pops off easily off the bottom (yeah it’s a bit of parts-forming however it does result in a super clean mode)

Oh, the Combiner Wars one is okay, but I found him a little lacking in certain areas - particularly the articulation in his robot mode. I did an episode called "Megatron Attack", he's reviewed in that one :)

My favorite part is based on the product shots, Blitzwing's sword won't just replace the fusion cannon. His extended barrel gets remolded to be sleeker and blend into the one on the turret AND he gets a sword. They remold the dude where it counts and just straight up add a part just for him.

WOOT! New Thew! :D I always felt that if Blitzwing G1 toy had been bigger he would have made a perfect leader for the Decepticon. Like they're mostly flying guys back in G1 with all the seekers and he's a big bruiser who turns into a tank too. Seems perfect for a bad guy leader.

Honestly I’m surprised we never get Megatron in a mainstream series being a triple changer. I know it’s the same forms as Blitzwing, but honestly Megatron can work those modes, and i could totally believe Megatron wanting to be a triple changer with the same jet and tank modes to be the most powerful force on the land and the skies.

if you have the individual titan master skytread you can use that head on this figure to give yourself a makeshift blitzwing until the real one comes out, it wouldnt surprise me if that head was repainted to make blitzwings head, the colours on the original are even a homage to the recent g1 blitzwing astrotrain 2 pack where blitzwing is a chocolate brown and maroon, and astrotrain has random orange on it

I think they preleased the triple changer molds to justify design and production costs. Making them the most bankable figures pretty much guaranteed a return on investment. Blitzwing made a great Megs like you said. Octone looked solid as Laser Prime too. I wish that were the mainline release instead of in a big box set. I’d get him for sure. I love your reviews.
