The way he ended it spoke so much about his humility and wisdom. He made it clear that it wasn't an opportunity for anyone to start attacking the older pastors who hold contrary view about tight.

Concerning giving, or tithing, or prosperity, Malachi 3:8-12 is, indeed, not the full counsel of God. It is an excerpt, quoted to the church for centuries (believe it or not), which is a misrepresentation of God's counsel. We've accepted it because that's what we have always been taught. Here are a few points to consider. -- Who did God appoint to receive tithes? God said, "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth [the tithe] in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation" (Numbers 18:21-23). In this scripture, God established who receives the tithe (the Levites), and why they received it (they received no inheritance, and they served in the temple). This assignment is exclusive to Levites. A pastor cannot assume this assignment, he has never been scripturally assigned by God to collect tithes, he is not a Levite. In that same sense, only a Levite, never a pastor, could ever serve in a Jewish temple. The church has not replaced the Jewish temple, and pastors have not replaced Levites. -- People are blessed when they give, not because of Malachi 3, which is based on the Law of Moses, an Old Testament law that has been replaced by Grace under Christ, at the cross. They are blessed because Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38). It is this principle of giving and receiving at work, when we give and are blessed. Not the expired law of tithing, which was required of the Jews (never Gentiles), and could only be received by Levite priests because they received no inheritance and were set apart to work fully in the Jewish temple. -- There is much more to this, such as Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek, Jacob's promise to tithe, the history of when and why the New Testament church tithes (there is actually a date!), and the scriptures that speak to these issues. To be clear, every pastor has a right to collect offerings in support of the ministry; I fully agree with supporting the church financially. But our giving must be godly. It is wrong to require people to tithe, contrary to the scriptures, then say that we live according to the scriptures. Four biblical truths, regarding tithing: (1) There is no scripture that authorizes anyone but a Levite to receive tithes. (2) There is no scripture that authorizes a pastor to receive tithes. (3) There is no scripture that requires a Gentile to tithe. (4) There is no scripture that requires the church to tithe. If you're interested in learning more, check out "Tither, You Are Free!", available on Amazon. Blessings to you and your ministry!

@@toluwalaseosinowo6392 God bless you for all that you do in service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Here are a few details with regard to your question: -- When did tithing start: In the Dark Ages, 567 AD -- Who brought tithing into the New Testament: The Catholic Church -- Why: So the offerings would be "more proper and permanent" -- How did they do this: Be reviving the Old Testament law regarding tithing -- What's wrong with that: Only Levites have been scripturally authorized to receive tithes. No one else. Not even Jesus because He was not a Levite. -- Can these points be independently verified: Yes -- How: The Catholic Encyclopedia, Jewish sources, the Bible (start with Numbers 18:21-23), and "Tither, You Are Free!" God bless you!

Israel as a nation stopped paying or giving tithes for the last 2000 years and the nation is prospering more than tithe paying people.just summarise by saying that people should honour the lord with their life and substance.

Damage control with continuity of manipulations. It was the greed of the fathers and not the level of revelation they had from God, that made them mislead the flock. Those who expressed their reservations about those teachings at that time were ostracised. Nothing has changed with you. Don't blame the outcome on revelations in the long run.

No, so we should begin to know what apostles didn't know. I think Tithe is compulsory. Yes, there are weightier matters but Tithe should not be left undone. Acording to this teaching that Tithe is freewill, my question is that what is the Consequence if a Christian decides not to pay Tithe? You think it will attract no consequences? You think that not doing what Jesus asked you to do will attract no consequences? If Jesus Christ himself said Tithe should not be left undone and this preaching makes it look like you can give Tithe if you like. With all due respect, I think it is not what the Bible teaches. Matt 23:23 says we should do the weightier matters first, then we should do Tithe. Jesus didn't say Tithe is optional nor by freewill but it's a command. Though the matter of judgement etc are WEIGHTIER but the matter of Tithe and Offering are also WEIGHTY. Everything that comes out of the mouth of our Lord Jesus is WEIGHTY. Even the jot and the title! The Apostle also mentioned that we are "saved eternally". The doctrine of eternal salvation, is that not what they always say at the "once saved forever saved" peoples' churches?
@joelshalula7332
@joelshalula7332 11 ай бұрын
Tithe is not compulsory anymore. No record of the church of Jesus paying any tithe in the bible. Jesus was talking to the pharisees who were under the law by that time, because Jesus did not die and resurrect at that time. But after resurrection of Jesus, there was no more record of tithing but sacrificial giving among the brethren. U can give tithe but it is not a law, if u make it a law than u will be under a curse because cursed is everyone who is under the law of Moses. We must know that u can go to hell by doing something that u may think is good. Many Jews today are still killing goats, bulls, rams for sacrifice to God thinking they are serving God but that will take them to hell. The same thing apply to the Sabbath day which the apostle Paul explain that anybody can worship God in anyday that he believe in his heart according to his faith. Giving is by love through faith but not by any law.

Tithe is freewill just like he said, your tithing shows your maturity in grace and in God only baby Christians don't pay tithe Secondly your point may cage you. Tithing is good and its right but don't birth a mentality that it is by force else it will cage u and Satan will take advantage of it.
@thewellsofwisdom
@thewellsofwisdom 11 ай бұрын
@@OcheAlpha-Topic everything is by freewill. You can decide whatever you want. You mean baby Christians don't may not pay Tithe or what? If you're born again Jesus wants you to pay Tithe. Tithe is a command. That the matter of judgement is weightier doesn't mean Tithe is optional. You people should stop trivialising God's command. Matt 23vs23, Jesus said Tithe should not be left unpaid and the only interpretation you can give to that is that it is by freewill? Jesus is simply saying that a Christian must practice everything in matt 23:23 but some are preceding others. The weightier matter first, then the other matters like Tithe etc. Jesus didn't paint tithing like it's its freewill. Freewill means if you like you do it, if you like you don't do it. No, that's not God's word. If you don't pay Tithe there will be consequences of Malachi. Because Jesus came you now begin to trivialise the old testament? If you don't do God's command in Deuteronomy the consequences of Deuteronomy will cone, if you don't pay Tithe the consequences of Malachi will come, if you don't obey ten commandments the consequences of not obeying them will come. That you are saved in Christ doesn't mean all old testament laws are abolished, no!
@OcheAlpha-Topic
@OcheAlpha-Topic 11 ай бұрын
@@thewellsofwisdom please mention a scripture that carries the direct consequence of not paying tithe Secondly tithing is something a Christian must do to prove how much he loves God and his work here on earth, also there's a blessing that comes with paying tithe and that is simply because of it use in the house of God Tithe is good because it is the right thing to do not because it's by force I pay my tithe and I'm blessed through it which means if I don't pay this portion of blessing will not come to me.
