This video should be required watching for everyone thinking about selecting the best golf ball for their game. Particularly important was the recommendation to select a golf ball based on wedge and iron performance... not driver performance (given that most of today's drivers are adjustable and can be adjusted for the preferred flight characteristics of whatever ball is eventually chosen.) Great advice and insight.

One of the best videos you have posted to date. Lots of great info. Problem with ball fitting for the average person is finding somewhere to get fit on an actual range where you can see the total flight of the ball.

I was fitted for a ball at the same time as the clubs a number of years ago. Given several choices, I chose the Bridgestone iZ tour and picked up several boxes. They lasted for some time because I continued to try other brands to make comparisons. When Dean Snell appeared on the market with his MTB black and MTB X I switched and think they are as good for my game as any other ball. At $45.00 Cdn. a dozen and free delivery, I can’t go wrong. JMHO.

I did a Titleist ball fitting at my club two years ago. I thought it was helpful. I ended up fitting into a V1x and NXT Tour. The numbers all made sense as well as the description of why the ball was doing what with my swing.

I wonder if Tony is now playing Titleist or the Bridgestone BX. For my swing speed the ProV1x works best for me.

PGA superstore does fittings, but I called them last week and they said, bring in a driver and 7 iron. Not exactly what I was looking for.

They really aren’t that great or special. In the end they are coincidentally going to fit you to a ProV1 or AVX no matter what kind of skilled golfer you are. It’s just a sales mechanism to provide assurance to someone that they need to play a golf ball that costs $45 a dozen.

how many holes can you hit a golf ball before it becomes un useable or out out round . and what about balancing golf balls , the videos i have seen seem to indicate a few % of the best balls are out of round that can affect putting .

I need fitted hitting to a real target and not an indoor sim. I always felt AVX disperssion too wide vs Prov1. But maybe its just my crappy swing. Lol

It’s all about the cover of the ball. Surlyn covers can’t compete with urethane covers.

Just another sales pitch from an OEM. Why do they only recommend the premium ball? Because they want you to spend more. Why do they make the cheaper ball then, I hear you say? Well you don't expect them to miss out on that segment of the market do you? It doesn't matter that much for the normal golfer which ball they get. Just make sure it's the same. Try out different balls in your home golf course. If it performs well and you like how it feels, being fitted won't make any difference to your score.

Did you even watch the whole video? He explained how and when they fit for the other line of balls.

Higher handicap golfers benefit more from playing a premium performance golf ball. They miss more greens in regulation need more spin and control in scoring zone. Tour players and go out and play 18 with a Velocity/tru feel and shoot basically the same score by 1-2 shots on average.

Titleist always promote / recommend their premium (expensive) balls. You gave them every chance to say something positive about their 2 piece range (3 models) but not a word! I think the TrueSoft is a good ball - for the price, you'd think they'd say something positive about it given they developed it and manufacture it.
@skylarsteel915 жыл бұрын
John Parle did you finish the video? He spent 45 seconds of video to talk about golfers on a budget who want “the softest golf ball available”.
@johnparle88405 жыл бұрын
@@skylarsteel91 I know. But he gives the impression that although he understands some people may like a soft feel, why would they choose that when the other ball offer so much more. It's like if you met him and said "I play a TrueSoft" he'd look down his nose at you. Sorry for the rant!
@TimmyP_5 жыл бұрын
John Parle because a TruSoft isn't going to be anyone's most optimised option in their line up

@@TimmyP_ It may be if you don't want to send €5 per ball.
@TimmyP_5 жыл бұрын
John Parle why would you expect to go for a ball fitting and then have them recommend a lower quality ball that isn’t the best ball for your game? Once you have consistently played “tour level” golf balls (no matter your handicap), you will never go back. If you’re worried about price buy last years model for cheaper or other brands superseded tour models for even less. Just know the difference between brands and models
