I’d play them no problem. In fact I am tempted to get my mizuno mp18s done like that.

That Satin finish does look pretty slick.

Looks killer as always. Dude, if my home course didn't suck I would love to turn you loose with the irons I just got the other day. What would kill me is the heads would turn out so nice....and the crappy conditions at my course would destroy them...😢
@igolf90610 ай бұрын
Thanks! Well if it makes you feel any better, I don't do irons for customers 🤣They're a different animal from putters and the two sets I did I cherry picked because they were solid stainless steel. 99% of irons are carbon steel plated with copper and nickel. And I'm not getting into chemical stripping or electrolysis anytime soon. 🤷♂️
@kall346710 ай бұрын
@@igolf906 Well, that makes me feel a touch better... 😆 I thought you did get into that electro dohickie stuff?
@igolf90610 ай бұрын
@kall3467 I tried it on one putter, and it took me weeks, and half dozen failed attempts at almost ruining a classic Scotty. Did everything by the book and just couldn't seem to figure it out 🤷♂️
@kall346710 ай бұрын
@igolf906 Well I can definitely understand that. How are you stripping finishes these days then, chemicals?
@igolf90610 ай бұрын
@kall3467 rarely need to after the deburring wheel but blasting any finish off works well.. Unless it's plated.

I have these irons in the chrome carbon - wish mine looked as good as yours do! They look amazing. Class job mate. Can I ask for some advice? I removed a head with a blowtorch (as a complete amateur) and the black resin expanded from the heel bore-hole. Any idea what the best thing to use to fill it up would be?
@igolf90610 ай бұрын
I'm sure a two part epoxy with some black dye would work fine. Or even if you you have the Golfworx style club epoxy that's black would be OK. I don't believe these are true bore through so, essentially they're just cosmetic, and indicate which model they are.
@stuboy1310 ай бұрын
@@igolf906 cheers mate I'll check that out. I read it's a modified bore-thru so they could move more mass behind the hitting area. Apparently. It was only the 3 iron I took out to replace with something hollow with more bounce and less sharp leading edge. (P760 4 iron was the same weight and loft so was ideal)

Love what you've done with these clubs. I have the exact same set, except mine has the chrome finish. Would the restoration process be different from yours?
@igolf9068 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes the restoration would be much more extensive. Would require a professional stripping of chrome and nickel before the restoration process. Then would need to be replated. That's why I did the stainless set.
@k1mm3ry8 ай бұрын
@@igolf906 Thanks for the quick reply. Now I wish I had the stainless set 🥲

So was the bead blasted finish 220 grit and the aluminum oxide face 80 grit?

The AO is 100 grit.

Question what does the CM mean on the back of the clubs ?

I believe it stands for Cavity/Muscle. As it's a combo set.

Love your videos!!!! what kind of beads do you use to get that satin finish?

What kind of maintenance would you need to do to keep this finish?
@igolf90611 ай бұрын
It's stainless steel so essentially nothing. Maybe just a quick wipe with soap and water from time to time.
