Fitted for TSR2 Driver & 3 Wood on the w-end. Stunning looking clubs, gained a lot of distance, and have a classic feel to them which is hard to find when so many other brands put colours & graphics around their heads

I hit the TSR3 16.5 Head, set to D4 (playing 15.75 Standard Lie), with the Tensei 1k 75g X, weight T1 (slight Toe), and it was just perfect - hit my 240 carry# and had a very neutral flight. Also tried the TSR2 16.5 - it was very repeatable - but it was just a little bigger than I was expecting. If you only carry two woods, give the 16.5 head a try

Had a titleist demo day and these have quickly become the best lineup of clubs titleist has ever brought out. They are super fast off the face, forgiving, very attractive and of course long. I personally jumped in speed from ~158mph to over 170 consistently with the tsr3 from my callaway epic speed (165 being my previous ball speed record hitting 176 was shocking to me).
@joshdude64312 жыл бұрын
The TSR3 is extremely hot for consistent ball strikers. If you find the center you will see noticeable jumps in ball speed.

For the average golfer whose swing speed is more like 95-100 mph with the driver the 3w is a luxury item because most of us just will not have the speed to consistently launch the ball off the fairway. I think a more interesting test for the average golfer would be Mike testing the 5w in TSR2 & TSR3 or as they also both come in 16.5 degree lofts which is a 4w, Mike tests the 4 woods

I disagree, that’s plenty of speed if you get a right shaft. I have seen many senior golfers who have no problem launching 3 wood on par 5s. Most golfers get stiffer shafts than they need and then complain they can’t launch ball high enough

Mid handicapper - tried the TSR 2 and Ping G425 Max 3 wood today, walked away with the Ping but may change my mind. Not sure about the TSR glossy finish in real world conditions as they were glare-y indoors with fluorescent lights. Decision factor was the G425 being easy to swing after a couple dozen shots and the forgiveness. The sound is kind of obnoxious though. TSR 2 came in really close but it just felt a smidge heavier to swing after a couple dozen shots. Got 12 clubs in the bag now, looking to improve my swing a bit then visiting TXG for a proper fitting 😁!

Have been playing 3 wood…TSi 3 and 5 wood that’s TSi2. Love them both, but really wish I had gone TSi2 in 3w. The TSi 2 is just so easy to hit off the ground. Absolutely love it. Guessing TSR 2/3 will be even better. Great video gents.

I went and got fit for the new titleist driver and fairway wood. I ended up with the TSR 3 driver. Even though I loved the look of the fairways, I actually got fit for stealth plus instead. For me the 3 stand out fairways were Stealth +, Srixon, and cobra.

This is the first time since the late 90's I am actually interested in any Titleist fairway wood. My club fitter friend was fitted with TSR3 4 wood with that same shaft Ian is hitting and it's a pretty darn nice looking club, I have to admit.

Titleist appears to have hit it ‘out of the park’ with new TSR lineup, driver & fw clubs. I love my TSi3 3-wood so much, I doubt I’d upgrade. The TSR 3/4 driver are both very much on my demo list. The one question I’d love to see you demonstrate before weather turns up your way, how do these clubs perform in first cut and shallow rough? That larger body TSR2 struggle w/turf interaction on less than ideal short turf? I also find it interesting you had a better, at least marginally, smash factor or efficiency w/TSR2 despite it being a higher loft setting. That flies in face of what we would normally expect. Any reason you think for this? Nice demo gentlemen

I think Titleist has a massive advantage with their hosel compared to the competition, especially with fairway woods.
@keithneilson6236 Жыл бұрын
Most people simply don't understand this or appreciate it. The options for custom fit ultimately optimise better than other brands. So all the talk of forgiveness etc is always constrained if the club itself isnt optimised for you. I've personally always loved Titliest fairways and even drivers. They have incredible feel IMO.

Custom ordered TSR2 7 wood, just hope it comes in before season is over! So excited to try it out. I love playing fairway woods, have tried hybrids and utility irons and just can get them to work for me.

They are shipping out very fast. If you beat the release 9/23, you are perfectly fine. As a fitter these have been amazing to fit. Everyone is seeing better numbers with the TSRs. Ordered mine on the 15th, they shipped out the 19th.

I have the driver and 15 in the TSR2. The biggest difference for me is the lack of loss on off center hits. I picked up 14 yards of carry between the TSR2 and my old Stealth.

Might be a noob question but how is the Tsr3 at 14.25 (D1) and the TSR2 at 15 (with the same d1) setting? shouldn't they both be at 14.25 using the loft sleeve?

I don't see why Ian needs the TSR3. I assumed that the 5 wood would serve the "off the deck" role, and 2+ would be for tee shots exclusively.

So in a takeaway from this: if someone shows launch and spin tendencies that would put them in a tsr2, but needs the CG adjustability of the 3, they would be able to play the 3 in the right setup comfortably?

Haven't watched this yet but let me guess somehow Ian and the gc quad will have it going at least 25 yards longer thru the air than he did at titleist and I understand trackman was used but I use them and I get the same ball speeds and carry obviously the club head speed reads higher on quad but it doesn't make sense that he gets the distances he gets in the bay but not on the course or actual driving ranges?

Solid review, great info here. I had a "2 wood" in my bag because i never tend to need a 3 wood into Par 5's (not bragging, I just never have the balls to go for them in 2 and the courses I play never really allow you to go at it in 2 unless you can hit it high and over dog legs and such) I have been eyeing up that TSR2+ for an off the tee weapon/fairway finder

Ian it seems like the 3 woods these days are basically drivers and 5 woods are the new 3 woods. 3 woods are so hot now and go so far that I find if I'm going to hit one I may as well just hit driver. I dropped 3 wood and now go 5 wood 7 wood to be able to fill the correct gaps. Stealth 5 wood turned down to 17* is so easy to hit and gets out there about 270-280.
@ianfrasergolf2 жыл бұрын
They certainly have the same efficiency as Drivers, sometimes more. It depends on the player though whether there is need to carry 3 and 5 wood. For me I carry Driver 280, 3wood 250 and 5wood 235.
@ww-oo7ic2 жыл бұрын
@@ianfrasergolf do you ever change your setup as you travel to different courses? Here in Texas when it's windy the 7 wood gets eaten up so I swap that for a 4iron. I also had to learn to hit a 2 iron in Texas as it was not something I ever needed in Washington State. Maybe a cool video idea to turn up the wind on the sim and show how/when you would swap clubs depending on weather conditions...

I feel like the real story between the two is more about looks and adjustability than flight. 200rpm isn't really much but the heel toe weight and deeper face probably make much more of a difference to a player.
